This printer has been carefully packaged to withstand damage during
shipping. Please carefully inspect the packaging and printer upon receipt.
Retain the packaging materials in case you need to reship the printer.

Printer Setup

Initial Setup

1. Place the printer on a flat, secure surface.

2. Make sure the power switch is off.

3. Plug the power cord into the AC power cord socket at the rear of the
printer, then plug the power cord into a properly grounded power
outlet.

4. Connect the provided USB cable to the printer and then connect
to your computer.

Opening the Top Cover

1. Open the top cover by pulling the locking tabs (located on each side)
towards the front of the printer. Lift the top cover to the maximum
open angle.

2. Once fully open, the top cover support arm, at the right rear of the
printer, will engage to hold the top cover open.

Loading Ribbon

For a video tutorial on loading the ribbon,
visit www.hellermann.tyton.com

1. While the top cover is open and supported, open the ribbon access
cover.

Note:

The ribbon access cover can be opened while opening the top cover. The ribbon access cover
can be closed while top cover is open or closed.

2. Insert the cardboard ribbon rewind core (included with every ribbon)
into the right side of the rewind hub by aligning the notches on the
right side and mounting onto the spokes.

3. Insert the cardboard ribbon rewind core into to the left side of the
supply hub by aligning the notches on the left side and mounting onto
the spokes.

4. Install the ribbon by securing the female notches at the ends of the
ribbon core to the mounting spokes on the ribbon supply hub.

5. Unravel the ribbon leader (blue or silver), and stick it onto the cardboard
rewind core.

6. Turn the ribbon rewind gear until the ribbon leader is thoroughly wound
and the black ribbon covers the print head.

7. Close the ribbon access cover and the top cover.

Loading Labels

1. Open the main printer cover by
moving the locking tabs toward the
front of the printer while lifting up
the cover.

2. Gently separate the green internal
media holder and pull and lock to
the sides.

3. Install label roll onto the caddy.

4. Feed labels into the back of the
printer, as shown

5. Adjust the label guides (see picture footnote).

6. Close the printer cover.

Adjust the label guides using the small gear to the right side. The label
stock should fit between the two guides, but not too tightly.

Label stock should move easily between the guides.

Closing the Printer Cover

While holding the top cover, gently push in the support arm to disengage.
The cover should close easily once the arm is disengaged.

Turn on the power to the printer.

The light on the top of the printer, located by the “Feed” button, should
turn green.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully completed the initial
printer setup!

Installing the Printer Driver

In order to operate the printer, the printer driver software must be installed
on a computer connected to the printer.

Driver Installation

1. Plug the USB key into an available USB port on your computer;
the key / stick contains the printer driver software.

2. Select “Open folder to view files” from the pop-up window.

3. Double click on HT719M3 to open the driver installer.

4. Click Next.

5. Click Finish

6. Confirm that “Install printer drivers” is selected, and click Next.

7. Select TT230SM from the model list. Select the same driver
for TT230SM or TT230SMC.

Click Next.

8. Select or highlight USB001 as your specified port and click Next.

9. The default printer name will appear as TT230SM. If you are installing a
TT230SMC printer, you can manually enter TT230SMC.

Click Next.

10.Click Finish. Driver installation is complete. The printer is now ready to
use.
