The PR 35 has been designed for commercial broadcast, recording and live sound reinforcement applications, which require a smooth at response over a wide frequency range. It was designed around the widely acclaimed Heil PR 30 large diaphragm dynamic element. The element has been mounted in a special internal rubber shock mount to further eliminate handling noise.
The PR 35 achieves its exceptional performance from the large aluminum 1 1/ 2” low mass voice coil assembly encompassed by a neodymium magnet assembly comprised of neodymium, iron and boron. Special attention has been paid to the phasing plug assembly. Equally placed ports sense a large amount of unwanted audio from behind the source which enters out of phase. This results in rear rejection of -35 dB . Little to nothing is heard from the rear while the front pattern allows the vocalists to move freely about the front of the PR 35 without any change in response. There is virtually no o-axis coloration, even if ‘cupped’, the response of this new Heil technology will not change . The new Heil element can be used in extreme high sound pressure levels and is immune to overload conditions. It produces a beautifully smooth audio response without the inconvenience of phantom or outside d.c. powering.
The PR 35 has an internal low frequency lter push button switch which can be accessed by using a small screwdriver or paperclip. With the switch pushed DOWN, the audio rolls o at 80Hz at -6 dB per octave. In the UP position the lter is removed and the entire wide response of 40 Hz. to 18 kHz is present.
Supplied with an SM-5 mic clip, a windscreen, three color trim rings and a leatherette carrying case.
