Safety Precautions

The “Mini Stirrer 1L” is a small Magnetic Stirrer designed for laboratories in the bioscience, medical, and chemistry ﬁelds. This instruction manual cannot address all safety hazards. It is the responsibility of the user to consult and observe all health and safety precautions and to assess the instruments suitability to the task.

Caution!

Before operating the mini Stirrer please read this instruction manual carefully. This manual contains important information, safeguards, and operating instructions.

1. Always inspect the unit for damage (broken or cracked housing and base, loose fasteners, damage from solvents, etc.) before connecting the power cord and before each use. Do not use the unit if any damage is found.

2. Never use this product in any manner inconsistent with these instructions.

3. This product is intended to be used indoors only.

4. This product is intended for blending aqueous solutions in suitable approved containers.

5. Product is not suitable for use with high viscosity materials, some examples are; heavy weight oils, honey, or glycerin.

6. Use only the power adapter delivered with the product, use of other power adapters will void the warranty.

7. Carefully note position of container, efﬁciency is maximized when container and base are concentric, see molded in concentric circles on top of unit for various container sizes.

8. Observe general laboratory safety precautions and regulations.

9. Do not move the unit while it is operating.

10. Do not immerse the unit in water. Injury due to shock or ﬁre may result.

11. Follow all precautions from the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for any reagents you use with this instrument.

12. Do not mix materials that are explosive.

13. Do not operate in a hazardous or ﬂammable environment.

14. Do not use solvent or ﬂammable liquids near this or other electrical equipment.

15. Do not use any caustic solvents on the unit that may damage the plastic housing.

16. Always work in a safe manner.

17. Opening the instrument housing or improper use of the instrument voids the warranty. If there is a failure during the warranty period, contact Heathrow Scientiﬁc LLC for warranty replacement.

18. Do not attempt to disassemble or modify this product.

19. Store at room temperature in a dry area. Do not expose to sunlight, moisture, or extreme temperatures for prolonged periods of time.

Do not use any solvent on the unit that may attack plastic. If hazardous sample material is spilled on the unit and or leaked into the unit, do not run the unit unless it is safe to do so.

The laboratory procedure should ensure that no person or hazardous substances are present within a 12" (30cm) zone around the unit before operating.

Operation:

1. Remove the contents from the package, examining them carefully for breakage, defects, or missing parts. Save the packaging.

2. Place Mini Stirrer on a sturdy, stable, level surface near a grounded electrical outlet away from the edge of the counter and other moving equipment. The surface should be clean. Allow sufﬁcient clearance on all sides of the unit for proper ventilation and usage. Make sure the power cord is clear of hot surfaces and other hazards.

3. Place stir bar into bottom of empty container (see warning below).

4. Carefully ﬁll container with all ﬂuids to be mixed, note the level of the liquid which will rise to accommodate the spinning vortex of ﬂuid when unit is powered. Be sure to leave sufﬁcient room at the container top for this rise in ﬂuid level.

5. Center the mixing container on top of the stirrer, noting and verifying the magnetic coupling of the stir-bar.

6. Turn control knob clockwise to turn on unit and continue steadily turning until desired mixing speed is obtained.

7. Turn off unit before removing mixing container.

Do not drop stir bars into empty glass containers as the container may break.

Do not plug other power supplies into stirrer unit, this will void warranty.

Maintenance

The Mini Stirrer 1L is a maintenance free product. Clean unit only when it not plugged into an electrical outlet. When necessary, the complete outside of the unit can be wiped down using a damp cloth and a mild, non-corrosive detergent. Do not immerse the unit or the power adapter.

Return for Repair

Important:

Transporting hazardous materials without a permit is a violation of federal law.

Heathrow Scientiﬁc LLC will not accept any return that has not been appropriately cleaned and decontaminated.

In the unlikely event of return, or when damage to the unit necessitates return, contact Heathrow Scientiﬁc LLC and obtain return authorization before sending your stirrer for service. Product must be decontaminated before transport.

Warranty

IN NO EVENT WILL HEATHROW SCIENTIFIC OBLIGATION UNDER THIS WARRANTY EXCEED THE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT.

Limited Warranty

Heathrow Scientific LLC warrants that Mini Stirrer 1L will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for 5 years from the date of purchase.

If you believe that there is a defect in the product, you must, during the warranty period, notify Heathrow Scientific LLC, provide proof of purchase, and return the product to Heathrow Scientific LLC with a Return Authorization form. To obtain a Return Authorization form, please call 1-847-816-5070. If Heathrow Scientific LLC is properly notified and, after inspection, confirms that there is a defect and the warranty period has not expired, Heathrow Scientific LLC will repair, modify, or replace the product, at its sole option, at no charge.

Le « Mini agitateur de 1 l » est un petit agitateur magnétique conçu pour les laboratoires chimiques, médicaux ou des sciences de la vie. Ce manuel d’instructions ne peut pas anticiper tous les risques à la sécurité. Il est de la responsabilité de l’utilisateur de consulter et de respecter toutes les consignes de santé et de sécurité et d’évaluer le caractère approprié des instruments pour la tâche concernée.

Attention !

Avant d’utiliser le mini agitateur, veuillez lire attentivement le manuel d’instructions. Ce manuel contient des informations, des garanties et des instructions d’utilisation.

1. Avant de brancher le cordon d’alimentation et avant chaque

utilisation, vériﬁez toujours que l’appareil n’est pas endommagé (enceinte et base brisée ou craquelée, attaches desserrées, dommage provenant de solvants, etc.). N’utilisez pas l’appareil si vous avez repéré le moindre endommagement.

2. N’utilisez jamais ce produit d’une façon non conforme aux

instructions.

3. Ce produit est uniquement conçu pour une utilisation en intérieur.

4. Ce produit est conçu pour le mélange de solutions aqueuses dans

des récipients adaptés approuvés.

5. Ce produit n’est pas adapté à l’utilisation avec des matériaux

à haute viscosité tels que : les huiles très lourdes, le miel ou la glycérine.

6. Utilisez uniquement le bloc d’alimentation électrique fourni avec

l’appareil. L’utilisation de tout autre adaptateur annule la garantie.

7. Notez soigneusement la position du récipient. L’efﬁcacité de

l’appareil est maximalisée lorsque le récipient et la base de l’appareil sont concentriques (voir les cercles concentriques moulés sur le dessus de l’appareil pour les diverses tailles de récipients).

8. Respectez les consignes et règles de sécurité générales du

laboratoire.

9. Ne déplacez pas l’appareil pendant qu’il est en fonctionnement.

10. N’immergez pas l’appareil dans l’eau. Ceci peut provoquer des

blessures par électrocution ou des incendies.

11. Respectez toutes les consignes ﬁgurant sur les ﬁches des données

de sécurité de tous les réactifs que vous utilisez avec l’appareil.

12. Ne mélangez pas de matériaux explosifs.

13. N’utilisez pas l’appareil dans un environnement dangereux ou

14. N’utilisez pas de solvants ou de liquides inﬂammables à proximité

de cet appareil ou de tout autre appareil électrique.

18. N’essayez pas de démonter ou de modiﬁer cet appareil.

19. Conservez l’appareil à température ambiante dans un lieu sec. Ne l’exposez pas au soleil, à l’humidité ou à des températures extrêmes pendant de longues périodes.

Fonctionnement :

1. Retirez le contenu de son emballage et examinez-le attentivement à la recherche de cassure, de défauts ou de pièces manquantes. Conservez l’emballage.

2. Placez le mini agitateur sur une surface plane, stable et solide près d’une prise d’alimentation triphasée loin du bord de la surface ou de tout autre équipement mobile. La surface doit être propre. Laissez sufﬁsamment d’espace tout autour de l’appareil pour une bonne ventilation et utilisation. Assurez-vous que le câble d’alimentation est loin de toute surface chaude et autres dangers.

3. Placez la barre de mélange au fond d’un récipient vide (voir avertissement ci-dessous).

4. Remplissez délicatement le récipient de tous les liquides à mélanger. Notez le niveau de liquide qui s’élèvera pour accommoder le vortex rotationnel du liquide lorsque l’appareil fonctionne. Assurezvous de laisser sufﬁsamment d’espace dans le récipient pour cette augmentation du niveau de liquide.

5. Centrez le récipient de mélange sur l’agitateur, en notant et en vériﬁant l’accouplement magnétique de la barre de mélange.

6. Tournez la molette de commande vers la droite pour activer l’appareil et continuez à la tourner régulièrement jusqu’à ce que la vitesse de mélange soit atteinte.

7. Éteignez l’appareil avant de retirer le récipient de mélange.

Avertissement !

Ne faites pas tomber les barres de mélange dans un récipient en verre vide, car cela peut casser le récipient.

Ne branchez aucune autre alimentation dans l’agitateur, car ceci annulera la garantie.

Ne pas utiliser l’appareil si le câble d’alimentation est endommagé.

Entretien

Le mini agitateur de 1L est un appareil sans entretien. Nettoyez l’appareil lorsqu’il n’est pas branché à l’alimentation. Lorsque nécessaire, vous pouvez essuyer l’intégralité de l’extérieur de l’appareil avec un chiffon humide et un détergent doux et non corrosif. N’immergez pas l’appareil ou le bloc d’alimentation.

Retour pour réparation

Important :

Le transport de substances dangereuses sans permis est une violation du droit fédéral.

Heathrow Scientiﬁc LLC n’acceptera en retour aucun appareil qui n’aura pas été nettoyé et décontaminé de manière appropriée.

Dans l’éventualité peu probable d’un retour, ou lorsque l’endommagement de l’unité nécessite un retour, contactez Heathrow Scientiﬁc LLC pour obtenir une autorisation de retour avant de renvoyer votre agitateur à ﬁns d’entretien. L’appareil doit être décontaminé avant le transport.

Garantie

EN AUCUN CAS L’OBLIGATION DE HEATHROW SCIENTIFIC DANS LE CADRE DE CETTE GARANTIE NE DÉPASSERA LE PRIX DE L’APPAREIL.

Garantie limitée

Heathrow Scientific LLC garantit que le mini agitateur de 1 l est libre de tout défaut de fabrication ou de matériaux pendant 5 an à partir de la date d’achat.

Precauciones de seguridad

El mini agitador 1L es un pequeño agitador magnético diseñado para laboratorios de los ámbitos de la biociencia, la medicina y la química. El presente manual de instrucciones no puede abordar todos los riesgos de seguridad. El usuario es responsable de consultar y observar todas las precauciones de salud y seguridad y de valorar la adecuación del instrumento para la tarea que debe llevarse a cabo.

Antes de utilizar el mini agitador lea con atención este manual de instrucciones. El presente manual contiene información importante, medidas preventivas e instrucciones de uso.

1. Revise siempre la unidad en busca de daños (grietas o roturas en la

carcasa y la base, uniones sueltas, daño por disolventes, etc.) antes de conectar el cable de corriente y antes de cada uso. No utilice la unidad si presenta daños.

2. Nunca utilice el producto de un modo distinto al indicado en estas

instrucciones.

3. Este producto solo debe ser utilizado en el interior.

4. Este producto ha sido diseñado para mezclar soluciones acuosas en

recipientes apropiados y aprobados.

5. No es adecuado para ser utilizado con materiales muy viscosos

como aceites pesados, miel, glicerina, etc.

6. Utilice únicamente el adaptador de corriente suministrado con

el producto; el uso de otros adaptadores de corriente anulará la garantía.

7. Compruebe atentamente la colocación del recipiente. La eﬁcacia

del producto se maximiza cuando el recipiente y la base están colocados de forma concéntrica; observe los círculos concéntricos de la parte superior de la unidad para los distintos tamaños de recipiente.

8. Observe las precauciones y normativas de seguridad generales para

el trabajo en laboratorio.

9. No mueva la unidad mientras esté funcionando.

10. No sumerja la unidad en agua. Esto podría provocar lesiones por

descargas eléctricas o incendios.

11. Siga todas las precauciones incluidas en las ﬁchas de datos de

seguridad (MSDS) de cada uno de los reactivos que utilice con el instrumento.

12. No mezcle materiales explosivos.

13. No trabaje en entornos peligrosos o inﬂamables.

14. No utilice disolventes o líquidos inﬂamables cerca de este equipo

electrónico u otros.

15. No utilice disolventes cáusticos en la unidad que puedan dañar su

carcasa de plástico.

18. No intente desmontar o modiﬁcar este producto.

19. Guárdelo a temperatura ambiente y en una zona seca. No lo exponga a la luz del sol, a la humedad o a temperaturas extremas durante periodos prolongados de tiempo.

Funcionamiento:

1. Saque el contenido del paquete, examinándolo atentamente en busca de roturas, defectos o componentes faltantes. Guarde el paquete.

2. Coloque el mini agitador sobre una base sólida, estable y nivelada en las proximidades de una toma a tierra y lejos del borde de la encimera y de otros equipos en movimiento. La superﬁcie debe estar limpia. Deje suﬁciente espacio en todos los lados de la unidad para una ventilación y un uso apropiados. Asegúrese de que el cable eléctrico no está cerca de ninguna superﬁcie caliente o de otros riesgos.

3. Coloque la varilla agitadora en el fondo de un recipiente vacío (ver advertencia a continuación).

4. Con cuidado, llene el recipiente con los ﬂuidos que desea mezclar. Tenga en cuenta que el nivel de líquido aumentará por acción del remolino al encender la unidad. Asegúrese de dejar suﬁciente espacio en la parte superior del recipiente teniendo en cuenta este aumento en el nivel de ﬂuido.

5. Coloque el recipiente mezclador en el centro del agitador, comprobando el acoplamiento magnético de la varilla agitadora.

6. Gire el botón regulador en el sentido de las agujas del reloj para encender la unidad y siga girándolo lentamente hasta alcanzar la velocidad de mezclado deseada.

7. Apague la unidad antes de retirar el recipiente mezclador.

No introduzca una varilla agitadora en un recipiente de cristal vacío ya que podría romperse.

No conecte otras fuentes de alimentación al agitador, esto anularía la garantía.

Mantenimiento

El mini agitador 1L no requiere mantenimiento. Limpie la unidad únicamente cuando no esté conectada a la corriente. Si es necesario, puede limpiar la parte exterior de la unidad con un trapo húmedo y un producto de limpieza suave y no corrosivo. No sumerja la unidad ni el adaptador de corriente.

Importante:

Transportar materiales peligrosos sin autorización constituye un incumplimiento de la ley federal.

En el improbable caso de que necesite devolver una unidad, o de que tenga que devolver una unidad que presenta daños, póngase en contacto con Heathrow Scientiﬁc LLC para obtener un formulario de autorización de devolución antes de enviárnosla para que la reparemos. El producto debe ser descontaminado antes de su transporte.

Sicherheitsmaßnahmen:

Das „Mini-Rührwerk 1l“ ist ein kleines, magnetisches Rührwerk für Labors in den Bereichen Biowissenschaften, Medizin und Chemie. In dieser Bedienungsanleitung können nicht alle Gefahren angesprochen werden. Es obliegt der Verantwortung des Benutzers, alle Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsvorkehrungen zu beachten und die Eignung des Geräts für die Aufgabe zu beurteilen.

Achtung!

Lesen Sie bitte vor Inbetriebnahme des Mini-Rührwerks diese Bedienungsanleitung sorgfältig durch. Die Anleitung enthält wichtige Informationen, Vorsichtsmaßnahmen und Bedienungsanweisungen.

1. Überprüfen Sie das Gerät stets auf Schäden (kaputtes Gehäuse oder

Basis, lose Halterungen, Schäden durch Lösungsmittel u.s.w.) bevor Sie das Stromkabel anschließen und vor jedem Gebrauch. Nicht verwenden, wenn Schäden vorhanden sind.

2. Verwenden Sie dieses Produkt niemals entgegen diesen Anleitungen.

3. Das Produkt ist nur für den Gebrauch in geschlossenen Räumen

vorgesehen.

4. Es dient der Mischung wässriger Lösungen in angemessenen,

zulässigen Behältern.

5. Das Produkt ist nicht für die Nutzung mit hochviskosen Materialien

vorgesehen, wie z.B.: schwere Öle, Honig oder Glyzerin.

6. Verwenden Sie nur den mit dem Produkt gelieferten Stromadapter.

Die Nutzung anderer Adapter macht die Garantie ungültig.

7. Beachten Sie die Position des Behälters sorgfältig. Der

Wirkungsgrad wird maximiert, wenn Behälter und Basis konzentrisch angebracht sind (siehe konzentrische Kreise oben auf dem Gerät für verschiedene Behälter-größen).

8. Beachten Sie die allgemeinen Laborsicherheitsvorschriften und

-bestimmungen.

9. Bewegen Sie das Gerät nicht, während es im Gebrauch ist.

10. Nicht in Wasser eintauchen. Ansonsten können Verletzungen oder

Feuer auftreten.

11. Befolgen Sie alle Vorsichtsmaßnahmen auf dem

Sicherheitsdatenblatt (MSDS) für Reagenzien, die Sie mit diesem Gerät verwenden.

12. Keine explosiven Stoffe mischen.

13. Nicht in gefährlicher oder brennbarer Umgebung verwenden.

14. Keine Lösungsmittel oder brennbaren Flüssigkeiten in der Nähe

dieses oder anderer elektrischer Anlagen verwenden.

15. Keine ätzenden Lösungsmittel am Gerät verwenden, die das

Kunststoffgehäuse beschädigen können.

18. Versuchen Sie nicht, das Produkt zu demontieren oder zu verändern.

19. Bei Raumtemperatur trocken lagern. Nicht über längere Zeit direktem Sonnenlicht, Feuchtigkeit oder extremen Temperaturen aussetzen.

Betrieb:

1. Entnehmen Sie die Inhalte aus der Verpackung und prüfen Sie sorgfältig auf Brüche, Schäden oder fehlende Teile. Bewahren Sie die Verpackung auf.

2. Stellen Sie das Rührgerät auf eine stabile, ebene Oberﬂäche in der Nähe einer geerdeten Steckdose, jedoch mit Abstand vom Rand der Arbeitsﬂäche oder anderen beweglichen Anlagen. Die Oberﬂäche sollte sauber sein. Lassen Sie rund um das Gerät genügend Platz für angemessene Lüftung und Nutzung. Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Stromkabel von heißen Oberﬂächen und anderen Gefahren ferngehalten wird.

3. Geben Sie den Rührstab unten in den leeren Behälter (siehe Warnhinweis unten).

4. Befüllen Sie den Behälter vorsichtig mit allen zu mischenden Flüssigkeiten. Beachten Sie den Flüssigkeitsstand, der ansteigt, um die Vortex beim Betrieb des Geräts aufzunehmen. Achten Sie darauf, oben am Behälter für diesen Anstieg der Flüssigkeit genügend Platz zu lassen.

5. Geben Sie den Mixbehälter oben auf das Rührwerk und achten dabei auf die Magnetkupplung des Rührstabs.

6. Drehen Sie den Knopf im Uhrzeigersinn, um das Gerät einzuschalten und fahren stetig fort, bis die gewünschte Mixgeschwindigkeit erreicht ist.

Wartung

Das Mini-Rührwerk 1L ist wartungsfrei. Gerät nur reinigen, wenn der Stecker ausgesteckt ist. Die gesamte Außenﬂäche des Geräts kann ggf. mit einem feuchten Tuch und mildem, nicht ätzendem Reiniger abgewischt werden. Gerät und Netzadapter nicht in Wasser eintauchen.

Heathrow Scientiﬁc LLC akzeptiert keine Rücksendungen, wenn das Gerät nicht ordnungsgemäß gereinigt und dekontaminiert wurde.

In dem unwahrscheinlichen Fall einer Rücksendung oder wenn Beschädigungen am Gerät eine Rückgabe notwendig machen, kontaktieren Sie Heathrow Scientiﬁc LLC und lassen sich eine Rücksendegenehmigung geben, bevor Sie das Rührwerk zur Reparatur einsenden. Das Produkt muss vor dem Transport dekontaminiert werden.
