This electric appliance produces infrared heat and failure to follow warnings and
instructions can cause a re or injury.

WARNING
FIRE OR EXPLOSION HAZARD
• Failure to follow safety warnings exactly could
result in serious injury or property damage.
• Do not store or use gasoline or other ammable
vapors or liquids in the vicinity of this appliance.
• Do not store any of the following ammable
materials on, or allow them to come in contact
with, the unit: rags, fabrics ,spray or aerosol cans,
cleaning compounds, plastics or plastic containers,
paper products, gasoline, kerosene, lighter uid.
• Do not install the heater close to furniture, curtains
or other ammable items. Allow at least 36 inches
(1 meter) between the heater and ammable items.
• Do not cover or otherwise obstruct the heater.

PERSONAL INJURY HAZARD
• Do not touch the heater during operation. Burn or
scald injury could result.
• Keep children away from the heater. Never leave
an unsupervised child near the heater.
• Do not use the heater if the power cord is
damaged. Contact an authorized servicer or
electrician to replace the cord prior to use.

To avoid property damage, personal injury or
death due to electrical shock, all instructions in this
Installation and Operation manual.
• All local, regional and national electric codes and
local construction codes must be observed in the
installation of the heater.
• The power outlet must be properly polarized and
grounded.
• Be sure the voltage listed on the heater’s
nameplate is the same as the voltage at the
installation site.
• Do not use the heater if the power cord is
damaged. Contact a qualied service agency or
electrician to replace the cord prior to use.
• Remove the plug from the power outlet and wait
until the heater is sufciently cool before cleaning it.
• Because of injury risk, the heater should be
operated only by individuals knowledgeable about
the operation and familiar with the warnings and
cautions listed in this manual.
• Because of injury risk, this heater is not intended
for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities.
WARNING
PERSONAL INJURY HAZARD–SERVICE
• To avoid property damage, personal injury or death
due to electrical shock, do not service the unit
without rst unplugging the unit from the wall outlet
and allowing adequate time for the unit to cool down.
• Service must be performed only by a qualed
service technician.
CAUTION
• Never use with an extension cord or multi-socket.
• Use extreme caution whenever the heater is left
operating and unattended.
• Do not install the heater immediately below a wall
socket outlet.
• Do not use a timer or other device that
automatically turns on the unit.
• Do not use the heater with an external voltage
regulator such as a dimmer or speed controller.

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of re,
electrical shock and injury to persons, including the
following:
1. Fully read through the operation and assembly
instructions before operating the heater. Be sure to
keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
2. This heater is designed for outdoor use only.
3. Conrm that the supply voltage indicated on the
rating plate of the heater corresponds to the local
voltage before you connect the heater. The power
supply to the heater should correspond to the relevant
regulations of the power supply companies and the
regional construction/building code regulations.
4. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns do
not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use
handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible
materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers,
clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (1m) from the front
of the heater and keep them away from the sides and
rear of the unit.
10. To disconnet the heater, press the red switch on the
side of the unit to the OFF (O) position, then remove
the plug from outlet.
11. To clean, remove the plug from the power outlet and
wait until the heater is sufciently cooled.
12. Connect to properly grounded outlets only.
13. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any
ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an
electric shock or re, or damage the heater.
14. To prevent a possible re, do not block air intakes or
exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces,
such as a bed or other furnishings, where openings
may become blocked.
15. This heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts
inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint or
ammable liquids are used or stored.
16. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any
other use not recommended by the manufacturer may
cause re, electric shock or injury to persons.
5. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used
by or near children, and whenever the heater is left
operating and unattended.
6. Always unplug heater when not in use.
7. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or
plug or after the heater malfunctions, or has been
dropped or damaged in any manner. Return heater to
authorized service facility for examination, electrical or
mechanical adjustment, or repair.
8. This heater is designed for outdoor use. It is not
intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and
similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it
may fall into a bathtub, pool or other water container.
9. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord
with throw rugs, runners or similar coverings. Locate
cord away from trafc area and where it will not creat
a tripping hazard. Do not let the cord hang over the
edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
17 Always plug the heater into a wall outlet/receptacle.
Never use with an extension cord or re-locatable
power tab (outlet/power strip).
18. This heater is for use with 120 volt power supply. The
cord has a plug as shown at A in Figure 1. An adaptor
as shown in Figure 1 is available for connecting threeblade grounding type plugs to two-slot receptacles.
The green grounding lug extending from the adaptor
must be connected to a permanent ground such as
a properly grounded outlet box. The adaptor should
not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is
available.
