INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
REFRACTORIES FOR CB & CD SERIES
WTBC36BB and WTBC42BB - B-vent Refractory
WTBC36DB and WTBC42DB - Direct Vent Refractory
These refractories are intended for use with the Caliber CB Series B-Vent and CD Series Direct Vent gas appliances. Refer to the installation instructions supplied with the appliance for the correct accessories to be used. CAUTION:
Install this refractory only after the appliance has
cooled and the gas and electricity have been shut
off.

REFRACTORY - CB & CD SERIES INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Shut off the electricity to the appliance and turn the gas shutoff
valve to the closed position. See Figure 1. Remove the screen
and glass from the appliance.

2. Lift the two top logs off the log set. See Figure 2.
3. Remove the grate/log assembly by removing the two screws
as shown in Figure 2. Lift and pull the grate/log assembly from
the front of the fi rebox.
Remove four screws securing the rear log. See Figure 3. Lift
rear log and remove from fi rebox.

4. Carefully install a side refractory. Tip the bottom edge into posi-
tion, and swing the top up. This will hold the back refractory in
place. See Figure 4.

5. To secure the side refractory in place, remove the screw in
the fi rebox side. Attach a refractory bracket (using the screw

removed) to the fi rebox side. Leave screw loose until Step 7
to allow for adjusting. See Figure 5.
