USB Storage Device Capacity
As the size of and space available on your USB storage device impacts the amount of recorded content that can be stored, following is an overview of what you can expect.
The receiver captures the broadcaster’s stream, which they vary in bit rate balancing program quality and available bandwidth. Therefore, exact figures are complicated to calculate but the following can be considered a guide:-
· An average of 3GB per recorded hour is need for Standard Definition content in MEPG2.
· An average of 9GB per recorded hour is needed for High Definition content in MPEG2.
· Based on this, a 1TB Storage Device can hold an average of 110 hours of HD and 330 hours of SD program content in MPEG2. MPEG2 is the default encoding broadcast in Australia, although your receiver is equipped to decode H.264 or MPEG4 which approximately doubles the amount of recorded content per gigabyte.

Note: This receiver stores Secondary transmitter or Translator channels by assigning a 35# prefix to each channel number. This point is helpful to understand as this receiver can receive channels not intended for your area. Secondary transmitters serve difficult reception areas and are usually less powerful, so a Primary transmitter can be a more reliable source of your TV signal.
