DESCRIPTION

The DVC741 expansion module is a 12 High-Side (Sourcing) digital (ON/OFF) output unit designed to work in conjunction with the DVC710 master controller. The outputs can be configured to drive LED's or valve type inductive loads up to 3 amps each. The outputs are short circuit protected and have built in open circuit detection that can be used for system diagnostics. The DVC741 communicates with the DVC710 controller through the HCT CAN Bus (high-speed communication) and utilizes a separate RS-232 port for programming, updates, monitoring, diagnostics and features such as setting the MAC ID (node) number e.t.c. The controller is packaged in the standard DVC series enclosure and fully encapsulated to withstand the fluid power harsh operating environments.
Two connectors P8 and P9 are prov i ded for e l ect r ic al connec ti ons . P8 (30 pin) is the main input and output connector which protrudes out the side of the enclosure. P9 is a standard 5 pin M12 Device-Net Compatible connector.
The status of each output is displayed by a green LED located on the top of the module. If the output is activated, the corresponding LED will turn on as well. If the output being used has an open circuit, then the corresponding LED will blink slowly (once a second). If the output is shorted, the corresponding LED will blink fast (four times a second). A Module Status (R/G LED) and a Network Status (R/G LED) LED are also located on the top of the module (see INDICATIOR S secti o n bel ow for further details ).
