Thank you for purchasing the Hawking HKS112AU Audio & Mic KVM Switch with Integrated Cables.
Compactly designed for home or office use and engineered to
achieve optimal performance. The HKS112AU enables you to
share a single PS/2 keyboard, PS/2 mouse, and monitor set
with two computers. With 59” built-in cables, the HKS112AU

Check hardware requirements to make sure that all of your cables and devices are firmly and properly connected. Also, make sure that your PC systems recognize the keyboard and mouse type before installation. If the listed conditions are met and the problem still persists, please see below:
Keyboard is not responding
If an error message appears on the screen and you are using Windows 95/98/SE, the PC BIOS may (Basic Input Output System) need to be setup. Please refer to your computer manufacturer’s manual or your motherboard’s manual to enable the USB option in the BIOS settings before you using any USB devices.
The KVM Switch may be in Auto Scan Mode. To stop or start auto scanning mode, using the hot key commands, press Scroll Lock Scroll Lock End.
Reset your KVM Switch by using the hot key sequence: Scroll Lock Scroll Lock End. Then rebooting your computers.
Reset the keyboard / mouse by unplugging your keyboard and reboot your computers.

Page 18
The computer may be using an incompatible mouse / keyboard. First, check the System Requirements to make sure the KVM supports the keyboard / mouse. Then, check the computer's Device Manager to make sure that the correct driver for your mouse / keyboard has been installed. (The driver can be supplied by the mouse / keyboard manufacturer or the computer's operating system.)
Some notebook computers, especially the IBM ThinkPad and Toshiba Tecra, experience difficulties when their mouse and keyboard ports are being used at the same time. To avoid this, only connect the mouse port or the keyboard port. If you connect the mouse port, you will have to use the notebook's keyboard when the notebook becomes the active computer.
No response to the hot key combinations.
Resend the hot key command, one-by-one within 2 seconds apart. Press and release each key in sequence.
Mouse troubleshooting or not responding
If your mouse hangs or behaves abnormally, you can hit the following hotkey commands for mouse reset:
(a) When you are using a PnP OS such as Windows 98 Second
Edition or later Windows operating systems such as Win2k, WinXP, etc., hit ScrLk + ScrLk + End for mouse reset.
(b) When you are using a non-PnP OS such as Linux, NT4.0,
etc, just hit one of the following hotkey commands for mouse reset according to your mouse configuration on the non-PnP OS --
ScrLk + ScrLk + M + 1 for a 2-key mouse setting; ScrLk + ScrLk + M + 2 for a 3-key wheel mouse setting; ScrLk + ScrLk + M + 3 for a 5-key wheel mouse setting.

Monitor display problems.
Screen does not show up properly or the screen is blank. Check your screen setting. Make sure it did not exceed the highest resolution supported. If the resolution is higher then the maximum VGA /SVGA/Multisync supported, then your console screen may show up blank.
Ghosting or stripes on your screen. This may be due to excessive electromagnetic interferences from external environments that come to compromise video signal integrity. Check the entire path of your video cable layout and see whether there is any undue presence of a strong electromagnetic source such as a large motor, a power cable, or another significant electromagnetic source. If there is any present, remove it or try to reroute your video cables so as to avoid or minimize its interference.
The screen flickers horribly Your KVM Switch may be in the Auto Scan mode. Press any key on the keyboard to stop Auto Scan.
