Locate the unit at the proper counter height, in an area that is convenient for use. The location should be level to prevent the shelf or its contents from accidentally falling, and strong enough to support the weight of the unit and food.
Some exterior surfaces on the unit will get hot. Use caution when touching these areas to avoid injury.
WARNINGS
To avoid any injury, turn the power switch off, unplug the unit from the power source and allow to cool before performing any maintenance.
The Glo-Ray Heated Shelf is not waterproof. DO NOT submerge in water. Do not operate if it has been submerged in water.
Plug unit into a grounded electrical outlet of the correct voltage, size and plug configuration. If the plug and receptacle do not match, contact a qualified electrician to determine the proper voltage and size, and install the proper electrical outlet.

Damage to countertop material caused by heat generated from Hatco equipment is not covered under the Hatco warranty. Contact the manufacturer of the base material for application information.
Use of excessive force when tightening mounting screws may damage unit or countertop (GRSB & GRSBF units).
Abrasive cleaners could scratch the finish of your Glo-Ray Heated Shelf.

All GRS models are shipped from the factory completely assembled and ready for use.
GRSB & GRSBF MODELS
The GRSB and GRSBF Drop-In Heated Shelves have a hardcoat aluminum top and a blanket-type foil element for uniform heat distribution. Ideal for server-to-customer pass through areas, buffet and cafeteria lines and other self-service areas. The GRSB model features a recessed top. The GRSBF model incorporates a flat design top.
A 91 cm (3') flexible conduit channels the power lines from the shelf to a remote control box. The control box comes with a control thermostat with a range of 27° to 93° C (80° to 200° F), an illuminated on/off switch and mounting brackets. The attached control box can be located up to 91 cm (3') from the unit.
The Drop-In Heated Shelf has a 2 cm (3/4") flanged edge that allows the unit to drop into a countertop opening. The shelf is easy to clean with a soft damp cloth or non-abrasive cleaner. All GRSB and GRSBF models are shipped from the factory completely assembled and ready for use.
CAUTION Abrasive cleaners could scratch the finish of your Glo-Ray Heated Shelf.
CAUTION The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) requires that GRS Series units over 91 cm (36") in length or weighing more than 36 kg (80 lbs.) to be either sealed or raised on the installation surface. If this unit cannot be sealed at the point of use 10 cm (4") legs are included to allow for proper cleaning access below unit. See Hatco ACCESSORIES for installation instructions.

INSTALLATION
WARNING For safe and proper operation, the unit must be located a reasonable distance from combustible walls and materials. If safe distances are not maintained, discoloration or combustion could occur.
CAUTION Locate the unit at the proper counter height, in an area that is convenient for use. The location should be level to prevent the shelf or its contents from accidentally falling, and strong enough to support the weight of the unit and food.
CAUTION The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) requires that GRS Series units over 91 cm (36") in length or weighing more than 36 kg (80 lbs.) to be either sealed or raised on the installation surface. If this unit cannot be sealed at the point of use, 10 cm (4") legs are included to allow for proper cleaning access below unit. See Hatco ACCESSORIES for installation instructions.
GRS MODELS
1. Remove the unit from the carton and lay it upside down on the cardboard.
2. Install the four metal feet into the corner holes on the base. Tighten securely but do not overtighten.
NOTE: If 10 cm (4") legs are required, see ACCESSORIES in this manual for installation instructions.
3. Place one rubber boot over each metal foot.
4. Turn unit upright and position warmer in desired location.
GRSB & GRSBF MODELS
1. Remove the unit from the carton and lay it upside down on the cardboard.
2. Remove and save the four screws (8-32) from the underside of the unit. See 7 .
NOTE: The control box may be moved to the most convenient location on the underside of the unit. For semi-remote installations, we recommend you leave the control in place until the unit is placed into the countertop. See 12 .
CAUTION Damage to countertop material caused by heat generated from Hatco equipment is not covered under the Hatco warranty. Contact the manufacturer of the base material
for application information.
3. Place the unit into the countertop opening. See 9 for recommended countertop cutout dimensions.
4. Assemble the Z-brackets to the underside of the unit using the four screws removed in step 2.
NOTE: Units 122 cm (48") or longer require two additional Z-brackets installed midway along the front and rear of the unit.
5. Adjust the 1/4-20 screws on the Z-brackets until the top flange lies flat on the countertop.
CAUTION Use of excessive force when tightening mounting screws may damage unit or countertop (GRSB and GRSBF units).
6. If you wish to move the control box to a semi-remote location, remove it from the bottom of the unit. If necessary, remove the end brackets from the control box, rotate and reposition them. The control box will require a hole mounting pattern of 7-5/8" x 1" x 1/4" for #8 screws. See 12 for mounting distances.
