TM
Sabrina's Psychic Phone is a mystical phone that alerts you to incoming
calls before they happen! This fully functional phone has unique styling and
will bring a whole new magic to phone calls.

INSTALLATION
Line Cord Connection
With a modular telephone
system, connect the 10
feet of straight telephone
line cord included with the
phone, to the modular jack
located on the bottem of
the handset (Figure 1).
Insert the other end of the
cord into a modular wall
jack (Figure 2). Make sure
all plugs snap firmly in
place.
OPERATION
TO INSERT OR REPLACE BATTERIES:
This phone requires 3 "AAA" or "LRO3" batteries (not included) for the
Psychic Alert. Unscrew the battery door and remove the back cover from
the phone. Install/replace with 3 x "AAA" batteries. Installation of batteries
should be done by an adult.
TO ENSURE PROPER FUNCTION:
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard or rechargeable batteries.
- Battery installation should be done by adult.
- Non-rechargeable batteries are not to recharged.
- Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being
charged (if removable).
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision
(if removable).
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended
are to be used.
- Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
- Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy.
- The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
Receiving a Phone Call
Salem will alert you to incoming calls with one of 4 phrases (such as
"Get Ready to Answer the Phone"). This will be followed by the phone
ringing. To answer the phone, pick up the handset and slide the talk switch
to ON (Talk) position and it will work like any basic telephone. Slide the
TALK/OFF switch to OFF to "hang-up" the telephone when you have
completed your conversation.
Dialing a Call
Pick up the handset, slide the TALK ON/OFF switch to ON (Talk), and wait
for a dial tone. Press the numeric keypad (dialing keys) for the number you
want.
KEY FEATURES
Psychic Function
Salem the Cat (the feisty Warlock turned cat from Sabrina the Teenage
Witch) will predict incoming calls before they happen with four different
warning/alert phrases.
Low Battery Indications:
Batteries should be replaced when Salem's speech is garbled.
Another indication that the batteries (which power the psychic alert function)
are not working is when the ringer is in the low or high position and the phone
rings (LED light flashes) but Salem does not make one of his four psychic
alerts. The psychic alert will not work when the batteries are weak or exhausted.
Redial
If the line is busy when you call someone, or you want to call someone you
just called, there is no need to dial the number again manually.
When pressed, the redial button automatically redials the most recently
dialed number. Slide the Talk ON/OFF switch to ON. When you hear a dial
tone press REDIAL instead of dialing the number.
Ringer Volume Selector
Sabrina's Psychic Phone features a harmonic ringer which can be adjusted
to a loud (HIGH) or soft (LOW) sound level. When you do not want to be
disturbed, slide the switch to the OFF position. You can still make outgoing
calls without being disturbed by incoming calls. When in OFF position,
Salem respects your desire not to be disturbed and will not warn you of
incoming calls unless you move the ringer indicator to LOW or HIGH.
Flash
The FLASH button is used to retrieve a new dial tone after ending a call.
NOTE: The flash button is also a useful feature for special telephone
services such as call waiting, if you subscribe to this service. Press FLASH
briefly, release and perform the custom call procedure.
Volume Control
Your Sabrina’s Psychic Phone features a dial control to regulate the
volume of the reception. If you are having trouble hearing the person you
are talking to, increase the volume until it is at a desirable level. If the
reception is too loud,decrease the volume level until it is at a desirable
level.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
No Dial Tone
-- Check all modular plug connections to make sure they are securely
connected.
-- Problem with the wiring: Try another phone jack. If the phone works
on another jack, you may have a problem with your wiring.
Contact your local phone company.
Redial Function Does Not Operate
-- Check if the last number you intended to call was really the last
number you dialed.
Phone Does Not Ring
-- Check to see if the ringer switch is set correctly. Make sure RINGER
VOLUME SELECTOR is in either the LOW or HIGH position.
-- Too many telephones may be installed on the same line.
Contact your local telephone company to determine the maximum
number of extensions for your calling area.
Sound Volume Is Too Low
-- Check the VOLUME CONTROL to make sure it is not turned
down too low.
-- Another extension may be off the hook. Hang up extension.
Psychic Function Does Not Work:
-- Check to see if the ringer switch is set correctly. Make sure the ringer
volume selector is in either the LOW or HIGH position.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using your telephone equipment, base safety precautions should
always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to
persons, including the following:
Read and understand all instructions.
Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.
Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid
cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
Do not use this product near water, for example , near a bath tub,
wash bowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a
swimming pool.
Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, or table.
The product may fall casuing serious damage to the product.
Slots and openings in the cabinet and the back or bottom are provided for
ventilation, to protect from overheating. These openings must not be
blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the
product on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This product should
never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register. This product should
not be placed in a built-in installation unless proper ventilation is provided.
Never push objects of any kind into this product through cabinet slots as
they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result
in a risk of fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the
product.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this product.
Take it to a qualified service person when some service or repair work is
required. Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous
voltages or other risks. Incorrect reassembly can cause electric shock when
the appliance is subsequently used.
Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified
service personnel under the following conditions:
When the power supply cord is damaged or frayed.
If liquid has been spilled into the product.
If the product has been exposed to rain or water.
If the product does not operate normally by following the operating
instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating
instructions because improper adjustment of other controls may result in
damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to
restore the product to normal operation.
If the product has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.
If the product exhibits a distinct change in performance.
Avoid using a telephone (other than a cordless type) during an electrical
storm. There may be risk of remote electric shock from lightning.
Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.

FCC REQUIREMENTS
This equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC Rules. On the base unit of
this equipment is a label that contains. among other information, the FCC
Registration Number and Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) for this
equipment. If requested, this information must be given to the telephone
company.
The REN is useful to determine the quantity of devices you may connect to
your telephone line and still have all of those devices ring when your
telephone number is called. In most, but not all areas, the sum of the REN’s
of all devices connected to one line should not exceed five (5.0). To be
certain of the number of devices you may connect to your line, as
determined by the REN, you should contact your local telephone company
to determine the maximum REN for your calling area.
If your equipment causes harm to the telephone network, the telephone
company may discontinue your service temporarily. If possible, they will
notify you in advance. But if advance notice isn’t practical, you will be
notified as soon as possible. You will be informed of your right to file a
complaint with the FCC. Your telephone company may make changes in its
facilities, equipment, operations or procedures that could effect the proper
functioning of your equipment. If they do, you will be notified in advance to
give you an opportunity to maintain uninterrupted telephone service.
The telephone company may ask that you disconnect this equipment from
the network until the problem has been corrected or until you are sure that
the equipment is not malfunctioning.
This equipment may not be used on coin service provided by the
telephone company. Connection to party lines is subject to state
tariffs.

90-DAY LIMITED WARRANTY
Tiger Electronics, Ltd. (Tiger) warrants to the original consumer purchaser of
this product that the product will be free from defects in materials or workmanship
for 90 days from the date of original purchase. This warranty does not cover
damages resulting from accident, negligence, improper service or use or other
causes not arising out of defects in materials or workmanship.
During this 90-day warranty period, the product will either be repaired or
replaced (at Tiger's option) without charge to the purchaser, when returned
with proof of the date of purchase to either the dealer or to Tiger.
Product returned to Tiger without proof of the date of purchase or after the
90-day warranty period has expired, but prior to one year from the original
date of purchase, will be repaired or replaced (at Tiger's option) for a service
fee of U.S.$12.00. Payments must be by check or money order payable to
Tiger Electronics, Ltd.
The foregoing states the purchaser's sole and exclusive remedy for any breach
of warranty with respect to the product.
All product returned must be shipped prepaid and insured for loss or damage

The product should be carefully packed in the original box or other packing
materials sufficient to avoid damage during shipment. Include a complete
written description of the defect, a check if product is beyond the 90-day

THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND NO
OTHER REPRESENTATIONS OR CLAIMS OF ANY NATURE SHALL BE
BINDING ON OR OBLIGATE TIGER IN ANY WAY. ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTIES APPLICABLE TO THIS PRODUCT, INCLUDING
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANT ABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO THE NINETY (90) DAY PERIOD DESCRIBED
ABOVE. IN NO EVENT WILL TIGER BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL,
INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM
POSSESSION, USE, OR MALFUNCTION OF THIS TIGER PRODUCT.
Some states do not allow limitations as to how long an implied warranty lasts
and/or exclusions or limitations of incidental or consequential damages, so
the above limitations and/or exclusions of liability may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific rights, and you may also have other rights
which vary from state to state.
