You will need the manual for the safety warnings and precautions, assembly instructions,
operating and maintenance procedures, parts list and diagram. Keep your invoice with this
manual. Write the invoice number on the inside of the front cover. Keep the manual and
invoice in a safe and dry place for future reference.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed
to reduce the risk of re, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using this heater.
2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces.
Use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture,
pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of
the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
3. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or
invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
4. Always unplug heater when not in use.
5. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions,
has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater or return heater to
authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.
6. Do not use outdoors.
7. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor
locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
8. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar
coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from
trafc area and where it will not be tripped over.
When unpacking, check to make sure that the item is intact and undamaged. If any
parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the cover of
this manual as soon as possible.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place the Parabolic Heater on a dry oor away from any combustible materials.
2. Also keep pets and children away from the Parabolic Heater.
3. Plug the line cord into an electrical outlet.

5. When nished using the Parabolic Heater, turn the Switch Knob to Off.
6. Wait for it to cool down completely before storing. WARNING! Storing or moving
this heater while hot or plugged in could result in re or severe burns.
Safety Features
1. This heater includes a safety Tip-over Switch (11) that will shut off the heater if it
becomes tipped over.
2. This heater also includes a Thermal Cut-off Switch (5). This will shut off the heater if
it starts to overheat. The Overheat Alarm light will illuminate as well. If this occurs,
unplug the heater, allow the unit to cool completely and remove all obstructions from
WARNING! Make sure the Power Switch of the Parabolic Heater is in its “OFF” po-
sition, that the tool is unplugged from its electrical outlet, and that the unit has cooled
completely before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures.
1. Before each use, inspect the general condition of the Parabolic Heater. Check for loose
screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, damaged
electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. If abnormal
noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use
damaged equipment.
2. Wipe the exterior surfaces of the heater occasionally with a slightly moist cloth (not
dripping wet) with a solution of mild detergent and water. Dry the case thoroughly with
a soft dry cloth before operating the heater.
WARNING: Do not allow water to run into the interior of the heater as this could
create a re or electric shock hazard.
3. Store in a clean and dry location out of children’s reach, and only after it has cooled
down completely.
4. WARNING: Any maintenance to the Parabolic Heater must be completed by a qualied
technician.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the heater stops operating, try the following solutions:
a. Make sure that the heater is plugged in.
b. Ensure that the outlet used is powered and that the circuit breaker is not tripped.
c. Eliminate the use of an extension cord, if possible. Otherwise, use an extension
cord with less length or greater size (a lower AWG # indicates increased size).
d. Check for any obstruction in the heater’s vents. If an obstruction is found, unplug
the heater and wait for it to cool completely. Then, carefully remove the obstruction.
e. If the heater is placed on a soft surface, then the Tip-over Switch (11) may prevent
the heater from operating. To reduce the risk of re, the heater is not to be
placed on soft surfaces – see # 12 on page 3.
If the above remedies do not solve the problem, take the heater to a qualied service

exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation of exclusion

To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges
prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise.
If our inspection veries the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may
elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. We will
return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted
from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.
This warranty gives you specic legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
