Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: When using product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions before using this product!
1. Do not use the Night Vision Monocular in daylight or bright light with the lens cap removed! This may cause permanent damage to the Monocular and will void the warranty.
2. Never turn on the Monocular or take off the lens cover in daylight or under bright illumination such as automobile headlights.
3. The Night Vision Monocular is not for underwater use.
4. Store idle equipment. When not in use, the Monocular must be placed in its case and stored in a location free from dust, moisture and sunlight. Do not store where sudden changes of temperature occur. Keep it away from air conditioning or heating vents. Always lock up products and keep out of reach of children.
5. Use the right product for the job. There are certain applications for which the Monocular was designed. Do not modify the Monocular and do not use the Monocular for a purpose for which it was not intended.

6. Never look at the Sun as severe eye damage may occur.
7. Protect the unit from moisture, dust and sunlight. If condensation is visible on the monocular, set the Monocular aside until condensation disappears.
8. Check for damaged parts. Before using any product, any part that appears damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for any broken or damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect its operation. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately.
9. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty.
10. Do not operate product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the product.
11. Do not allow children to handle or play with the Monocular.

Unpacking
When unpacking your NV Monocular-Water Resistant, check to make sure that the product is intact and undamaged. If any parts are missing or broken, please call HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS at

Assembly
Your Monocular will only require installation of a battery. It is important that you read this entire manual to become familiar with the product BEFORE you set up and use the Monocular.
Installing the Battery
1. Using a coin or large screwdriver, remove the Battery Cover (1)-see
Figure 1.

2. Insert (1) CR145 3V Lithium battery into the battery compartment with the polarity placed as
indicated inside the compartment. Replace the Battery Cover (1).

Operating the Monocular Without the Illuminator
Warning: If you are not in a dark area, do not remove the lens cap.
1. In a near dark environment, remove the Lens Cap (2) from the Objective Lens (3)-see
Figure 1.
2. Push the Power Button (4) down to view an object-see Figure 1.
3. Focus the Eyepiece (5) and the Objective lens (3) by turning them until the object you are
viewing is clearly seen-see Figure 1.
4. As you are viewing an object, over a period of time the image will slowly fade as the unit
shuts itself off. To refresh the image, push down on the Power Button (4) again.
5. When you have finished viewing an object, replace the Lens Cap immediately.
Operating the Monocular with the Illuminator/LED Light
1. Use the LED when operating in total darkness.
2. Push the Power Button (4) down to view an object-see Figure 1.
3. Push the LED Button (6) down.
The LED Button (6) must continously be held down in order
to view an object while in total darkness.
4. Focus the Eyepiece (5) and the Objective lens (3) by turning them until the object you are
viewing is clearly seen-see Figure 1.
5. When you no longer need the illuminator, release the LED Button (6) and the image will
slowly fade as the unit shuts itself off.
6. Replace the Lens Cap immediately.
Tube Screen Appearance
1. Light and dark spots caused by an image converter tube may be visible in the field of view.
These are normal and are not considered imperfections by imaging intensifier standards. Most distortion will occur in the peripheral area, not in the center-see Figure 2 below.
