Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: When using product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions before using this product!
1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injury.
2. Observe work area conditions. Keep work area well lit. Position the Solar Garden Light in an unobstructed area that receives sunlight at least six hours a day.
3. Check for damaged parts. Before using any product, any part that appears damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for any broken or damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect its operation. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately. Do not use the Solar Garden Light if any switch does not turn on and off properly.
4. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty.
5. Always check hardware and assembled parts after assembling. All connections should be tight and hardware tightened.
6. Keep children away. Children must never be allowed in the work area. Do not let them handle the Solar Garden Light.

7. Dress properly. Protective, electrically nonconductive clothes and nonskid footwear are recommended when working with the Solar Garden Light. Wear restrictive hair covering to contain long hair.
8. Use eye protection. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles when setting up this product.
9. Maintain products with care. Keep the Solar Garden Light clean for better and safer performance. Note: Dust covering the Solar Panel will block out sunlight causing a decrease or stoppage of efficiency in recharging the batteries. Follow instructions for set up. Inspect the Solar Garden Light periodically. if damaged, have it repaired by an authorized technician.
10. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
11. Use the right Solar Light for the job. There are certain applications for which this Solar Light was designed. Do not modify this Solar Garden Light and do not use this Solar Garden Light for a purpose for which it was not intended.
12. Do not set up the Solar Garden Light if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgement or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not set up the Solar Light.
13. When setting up the Solar Garden Light, make sure it is not in a location where it
becomes a tripping hazard.
WARNING: NiCad batteries must be disposed of properly. Do not incinerate. Batteries may
burst, causing personal injury and/or property damage. Contact your local hazardous waste disposal authority for proper disposal.
Warning: People with pacemakers should consult with their physician before using this
product; operation of equipment in close proximity to a heart pacemaker could cause interference or failure of the pacemaker.
WARNING: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot

Unpacking
When unpacking the Stainless Steel Solar Garden Light, check to make sure that all parts are included (see parts list on page 5). If any parts are missing or broken, please call HARBOR

Assembly/ Operation
Your Stainless Steel Solar Garden Light will require some light assembly. The Solar Garden Light requires special conditions for set up and operation. It is important that you read the entire manual to become familiar with the product BEFORE you use the Solar Garden Light. Before operating the Solar Garden Light be sure that you have all parts described in the Parts List and Assembly Diagram located on the last pages of this manual.
1. The Mounting Pole (3) comes in two pieces. The two pieces are to be joined by a Fitting (7).
Slide and twist the Fitting (7) into the end of one Mounting Pole (3)-see Figure 1.
2. Slide and twist the second Mounting Pole over the Fitting as in Figure 2.

3. Insert the Stake (4) into the Mounting Pole (3) with the sharp end facing downward-see
Figure 3.
4. Insert the Light (1) down into the Mounting Pole (3)-see Figure 3.

5. Decide where you want to place the Solar Garden
Light. Choose a location that receives full, direct sunlight a minimum of six hours a day. The location should not be near nighttime light sources such as porch lights or streetlights as this will cause the

Solar Garden Light to remain off. Do not locate the light in a place where it becomes a tripping hazard. The Solar Garden Light must be inserted into a ground surface that will hold the Solar Garden Light in an upright and stable position. Be careful not to damage the Mounting Pole (3) while light is being set up. The Solar Garden Light is not waterproof and must not be set in water
such as pools or ponds.
6. The Solar Garden Light will need to charge for at least six hours before using it for the
first time.
7. Located on the top of the Solar Garden Light is a panel with a “ON”/”OFF” Button (6)-see
Figure 4. Pressing the On/Off Button (6) will turn the Solar Garden Light on or off. Remove the Globe (2) and remove the Light (1) from the top. Press the On/Off Button (6) to the “ON” position.

Replacing the Batteries
NOTE: Before performing any maintenance, make sure the “ON”/”OFF” Button (6) is in the “OFF”
position.
1. Located on the plate that holds the Light (1) is a panel-see Figure 5. Press in and pull off
the Battery Cover (8) of the Battery Compartment.
2. Pull out the Batteries (5) and replace with two new rechargeable Ni-Cad Batteries (5).
Caution: Make certain that the batteries are installed with the positive and negative poles
as indicated. Use Ni-Cad Batteries only.
