Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: When using tool, basic safety precautions should always be
followed to reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions before using this product!
1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
2. Keep children away. Children must never be allowed in the work area. Do not let children be near this product. This product is not a toy and can cause injury .
3. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they can be caught in moving parts. Protect hands by wearing leather wor k gloves.
4. Use eye protection. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles when using this product. Approved goggles are available from Harbor Freight Tools.
5. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times when using this product.

6. When loading staples, always adhere to all the instructions and safety warnings provided in this manual. Reminder: Avoid injuries from sharp staples when loading and cleaning this product.
7. Be sure material will accept staples. Always test the material to see if the staples will hold the material you want to secure. Staples will not hold stone, rock or metal. Best suited for roofing installation, carpet installation, poly sheeting and upholstery.
Note: The Hammer Tacker is only to be used to strike the material to be
secured. Do not use f or any other purpose.

When unpacking, check to make sure the follo wing parts are included that are listed on Page 5. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the cover of this manual.
1. You must first load staples (not included) into the Hammer Tacker.
Press the Staple Feeder Button (1) by squeezing the sides together . While squeezing, push inward and downward to unlock the Staple Spring Feeder (2).

2. Pull out the Staple Spring Feeder (2). Set aside. Insert a strip of staples (not included, see Page 2 for siz e). Place staples in the track of the loading area. Slide the Staple Spring Feeder (2) bac k into the Hammer Tacker. Squeeze and push the Spring Feeder Button (1) upward to lock it into position. If Spring Feeder will not go all the w a y back into place, remove some staples from the magazine.

Operation
1. To use the Hammer Tacker for roofing, carpeting, poly sheeting or upholstery, hold Handle (3) like you would a hammer and hit the area you wish the staple to hold. Avoid hitting your fingers or other body parts. Test first on a scrap-piece of material to make sure the Hammer Tacker is working properly and that the staples are fully driven into the workpiece. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles when using this product.
Maintenance
1. Store indoors, and keep dry to avoid rusting.
2. If Hammer Tacker becomes jammed with staples, use needle nose pliers (not included) and remove bent or jammed staples. Always wear
ANSI approved safety goggles when removing jammed staples.
Repeat loading instructions on Page 3. Test on scrap material to see if Hammer Tacker will work correctly after this repair .
