UNPACKING
When unpacking, check to make sure that the item is intact and undamaged. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible.

TO PREVENT
SERIOUS INJURY FROM ACCIDENTAL OPERATION: Unplug the Fountain Pump from its electrical outlet before assembling, inspecting, making any adjustments, or servicing.

1. Thread the Coupling Nut (5) to the Main Housing (4).
Thread the Tee Fitting System (10) to 2. the top of the Coupling Nut (5).
NOTE: There are two ON/OFF Switches
on the Tee Fitting System (10). Turning either Switch 90° changes it from OFF to ON, or ON to OFF. (Stamped onto the Fountain Pump parts are PLUS/MINUS symbols showing either open, or closed.) See Figure 2.

(9) to the top of the Output Tube (7) depending on what type of water dis­play you desire. See Figure 1.
The Spray Nozzle (9) is threaded to 5. the top of the Output Tube (7) when needed.
When the plug is inserted into the 3. receptacle the pump will be on.
WARNING! If the power cord or plug is
damaged, do not use the pump. The power cord or plug may only be re-
paired by a certied electrician.

Attachments
This Fountain Pump comes with three separate heads for different types of water spray:
Bubbling Nozzle (6) features tiny a. holes that disperse water in all direc­tions at once.
Bell Nozzle (8) will shoot water b. straight up to a maximum height of 8 ft.
Spray Nozzle (9) shoots many small c. streams of water in a tight pattern.
All three spray heads thread onto d. and off of the top of the Output tube (7) for quick interchanging.
WARNING! Always unplug the Fountain
from the power outlet and put on a pair of heavy-duty, insulated rub­ber gloves, before sticking hands in water to change spray heads or any other handling of the Fountain Pump.
Area of use
This pump is designed for use as a fountain pump in an area not used for swimming.
Power Supply
The pump is equipped with a ground-1. ed plug according to regulations. The pump is designed to be connected to 120 V~, 60 Hz receptacle.

After reading these instructions, 1. consider the following points before starting the pump:
Verify that the pump rests on the a.
oor of the fountain.
Verify that the electrical connection b. is 120 V~, 60 Hz.
Verify that the electrical receptacle is c. in good condition.
Verify that water and moisture can-d. not get near the power supply recep­tacle.
Verify that the pump is installed so e. as to prevent running dry.
To prevent tripping, run any extension 2. cord used away from walkways that lead to your location.
SERVICING
Procedures not specically
explained in this manual must be performed only by a
qualied technician.
TO PREVENT
SERIOUS INJURY FROM ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OR ELECTRIC SHOCK: Unplug the Fountain Pump from its electrical outlet before performing any accessory change, inspection, maintenance, and/or cleaning procedures.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM TOOL FAILURE: Do not use damaged equipment. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use.
Place the Fountain Pump on a sur-4. face slightly elevated (to prevent col­lection of excessive mud), and open either or both switches located on the Tee Fitting System (10) by rotating them towards the + symbol.
Plug the Fountain Pump into the 5. power outlet. The Fountain Pump will begin operating automatically.
When not using the Fountain Pump 6. for a long period of time, unplug the power cord, remove it from the water, rinse with cold, clean, water and let it dry before storing it inside away from children.

Cleaning, Maintenance, and
Lubrication
BEFORE EACH USE,1. inspect the
general condition of the Fountain Pump. Check for loose screws, mis­alignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, damaged electrical wiring, and any other condi­tion that may affect its safe operation.
AFTER USE,2. clean external surfaces of the appliance with clean, moist cloth.

Cleaning the Filter Sponge
Wash the Filter Sponge out regu-1. larly, especially if the Fountain Pump power starts to drop.
Unplug the Fountain Pump from the 2. power source and wear heavy-duty insulated rubber gloves before putting your hands into the water.
Press the sides of the Filter Cover 3. (14) together and pull it off the Main Housing (4). Pull the Filter Sponge out of the Plastic Filter (13) and rinse with cold, clean water. Replace into the Plastic Filter (13) and reassemble the Filter Cover (14).
When not using the Fountain Pump, 4. (as in the Winter months), protect and preserve the Filter Sponge by keep­ing it in a glass jar in water stored near the Fountain Pump for easy location.
Back Cover (3)
Impeller (11)
Metal Washer
3. Replace the Impeller (11) as in num­ber 1 of this section using reverse procedure. Check for Metal Washer before replacing the Back Cover (3).
Cleaning the Impeller
Unscrew the Back Cover (3), (twist it 1. 1/4 turn to left and pull). Remove the Impeller (11). See Figure 3.
NOTE: There is a small Metal Washer
attached to the rear of the Impel­ler Shaft. Be careful not to lose it when removing, cleaning, and replacing the Impeller.
Flush with lots of lukewarm, clean 2. water to remove built up debris. Use of a small medium stiff toothbrush is helpful.

Har­bor Freight Tools also warrants to the original purchaser, for a period of one year from date of purchase, that all other parts and components of the product are free from defects in materials and workmanship (90 days if used by a professional contractor or if used as rental equipment). This warranty does not apply to damage due directly or indirectly, to misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, repairs or alterations outside our facilities, normal wear and tear, or to lack of maintenance. We shall in no event be liable for death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special or con­sequential damages arising from the use of our product. We will return re­paired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.
