Before
you
begin
installing
the
fan,
disconnect
the
powerbyremoving
fusesorturning
off
circuit
breakers.

new
fan.
Review
the
accompanying
assembly
diagrams.
3.
Make
sure
that
all
electrical
connections
comply
with
local
codes,
ordinances,
or
the
National
Electrical
Code.
Hireaqualified
electrician
or
consult
a
do-it-yourself
wiring
handbook,
available
at
Lowe's,
if
you
are
unfamiliar
with
installing
electrical
wiring.
4.
Make
sure
the
installation
site
you
choose
allowsaminimum
clearance
of7feet
from
the
bladestothe
floor
and
at
least30in.
from
the
endofthe
bladestoany
obstruction.
5.Ifyou
are
mounting
the
fantoa
ceiling
outlet
box,
useaMETAL
octagonal
outlet
box.
Secure
the
box
directly
to
the
building
structure.
The
outlet
box
and
its
support
mustbeabletosupport
the
moving
weightofthe
fan
(at
least35lbs.).DoNOT
useaplastic
outlet
box.
6.
After
you
install
the
fan,
make
sure
that
all
connections
are
securetoprevent
the
fan
from
falling.

Instructions
for
supply
connections:
conductor
ofafan
identified
as
grounded
conductor
tobeconnected
to
a
grounded
conductor
of
power
supply;
conductor
ofafan
identified
for
equipment
grounding
tobeconnected
to
an
equipment-grounding
conductor.

provided

are
designed
to
accept
only
one12gauge
house
wire
and
two
lead
wires
from
the

fan
lead
wires,
consult
an
electrician
for
the
proper
size
wire
connectors
to
use.
