PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
The meter is supplied with batteries, soft carrying case and instructions.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The HYGROCHECK® is a lightweight, pocket-sized meter designed for on-the-spot testing of Relative Humidity.
®
The HYGROCHECK
uses the advanced TFPC (Thin Film Polymer Capacitance) sensing method to measure humidity and an integrated electronic circuit to perform all relative conversions. This method of Relative Humidity measurement assures a quick and accurate reading.
The housing is constructed of durable ABS material and the LCD is protected behind a transparent plastic cover.
Also, a vented cap protects the sensor while allowing maximum airflow for rapid response.
OPERATIONS
For accurate measurements with the HYGROCHECK®, please proceed as explained below.
• The end of the humidity sensor should be exposed to an air current moving at 0.5 m (20") per second or more.
• In the absence of air movement, the response can be accelerated by moving the probe.
• The RH sensor must never come into contact with water or other liquids. If this should happen, or if condensation causes drops to form on the sensor surface, turn off the instrument and expose it to an air current to dry the sensor.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
To access the battery compartment, slide off the cover. When replacing the batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity and use only the battery type specified in these instructions.
TECHNICAL SERVICE
The HYGROCHECK® is factory calibrated with reference to NIST certified instruments.
