Synchronization isn't working

Try to sync after each of the following steps. If the sync is successful, you don’t need to do the rest of the steps. If you still can’t sync after finishing the steps, check Your Palm Treo 680 Smart Device User Guide on the CD for more troubleshooting tips.
1. Make sure the USB sync cable is securely connected to your Treo and to a built-in USB port on
your computer (not on a USB hub). See "Synchronize for the first time" on page 22 for details.
2. Make sure that HotSync manager is running:
Windows: Right-click HotSync manager in the taskbar in the lower-right corner of your
computer screen, and make sure that Local USB is checked. If you don’t see the HotSync manager icon, click Start>Programs>Palm>HotSync Manager.
Mac: Go to the Palm folder on your Mac hard drive and double-click HotSync manager .
In the Connection Settings panel, set the Local Setup port to Palm USB.
