The ou tlet box and s upport str ucture mus t be securel y mounted an d capa ble of relia bly suppor ting a minim um of 35 pound s. Use only UL Listed ou tlet boxes m arked “FOR FAN SU PPORT”.
The fa n must be moun ted with a min imum of 7 feet c learance f rom the tr ailing edg e of the blade s to the floor.
Avoid pla cing objec ts in path of th e blades.
To avoid pe rsonal inj ury or damag e to the fan and o ther items , be caut ious when wo rking arou nd or cleani ng the fan.
Do not u se water or de tergents whe n cleaning t he fan or fan bl ades. A dry dus t cloth or lig htly dampe ned cloth wi ll be suitab le for most clea ning.

Afte r making ele ctrical co nnection s, spliced c onductor s should be turn ed upward an d pushed car efully up in to outlet bo x. The wires shou ld be spread a part with th e grounded c onductor a nd the equi pment-gr ounding co nductor on o ne side of the o utlet box an d ungr ounded con ductor on th e other side o f the outlet b ox.
All se t screws mus t be checked a nd retight ened where n ecessary befo re install ation.

Phil lips screw driver, straig ht slot scre wdriver, step la dder and wir e cutters.
If the re isn't an ex isting UL listed m ounting box, t hen read the f ollowing i nstructi ons. Disc onnect the p ower by remo ving fuses o r turn ing off circui t breakers . Secu re the outle t box direct ly to the buil ding stru cture. Use a ppropria te fastene rs and buil ding mater ials. The outl et box and its supp ort must be ab le to fully su pport the movi ng weight of t he fan (at lea st 35 lbs). Do not us e plastic ou tlet boxes .

Note : You may ne ed a longer do wnrod to main tain prope r blade clea rance when inst alling on a st eep, slope d ceiling. The maxi mum angle al lowable is 1 8°. If the cano py touches d ownrod, re move the deco rative can opy bottom c over and tur n the cano py 180° befo re attachi ng the canop y to the mo unting pla te.
To hang you r fan where th ere is an exis ting fixt ure but no cei ling joist , you may need a n inst allation h anger bar as s hown in Figu re 4 (ava ilable at an y Home Depot s tore).
