1. Introduction
The USB 2.0 to SATA+IDE Adapter allows you to easily connect a
Hard Disk, CD-rom player, DVD-rom player or burner to your
computer through a standard USB 2.0 port.

2. Installation and use
Connecting a storage device
If you use an IDE hard disk you will need to set it to ‘Master’. Check
the label on your hard disk for more information on these settings.
1. Connect the XU2SATAIDE adapter to your storage device:
• For 2.5” IDE devices use the 44 pin IDE connector (2).
• For 3.5” & 5.25” IDE devices use the 40 pin IDE connector
(3).
• For 2.5”, 3.5” or 5.25” SATA devices use the SATA interface
(4) with the 7 pin SATA cable included.
2. Connect the external power supply to your storage device:
• For 3.5” & 5.25” IDE devices plug in the IDE power connector
of the power supply directly to the device.
• For SATA devices use the SATA power cable adapter
included.
3. Connect the power adapter to a power outlet.
4. Connect the mini USB plug of the USB cable to the mini USB
port of the XU2SATAIDE.
5. Connect the USB cable to a free USB port of your computer.
6. The computer will automatically detect the new device and
install it.
OTB (One-Touch-Backup) function
The One-Touch-Backup (OTB) function allows you to back up data
on external hard drive by pressing a single button on the device.
OTB button must be configured with the software supplied with the
product (Windows only).
