Parts and Features
BEFORE FIRST USE: Remove all literature and packing
material from inside the jar opener box. Wipe with a clean, damp cloth. DO NOT immerse unit in water. Remove pull tab from battery compartment to activate product.
NOTE: Arms may start moving immediately. This is normal.

How to Replace the Batteries
1. Remove battery compartment cover from the unit by
pressing in and sliding the door to the side in the direction of the arrow.
2. Insert two new AA batteries into the battery compartment
as shown.

3. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding
in the opposite direction of the arrow after batteries have been installed.
NOTES:
• Jar opener may start running when batteries are installed. This is normal. The jar opener will turn off automatically when the arms reach the outermost or innermost position.
• Make sure the motor has stopped completely before removing the battery compartment cover to replace batteries or before cleaning.

How to Use Your Jar Opener
1. Remove any paper or plastic safety seal from jar.
2. Place glass jar on a flat, nonslippery surface.
3. Depending on the position of the jar opener arms, press
the Release Lid Button to move the arms to the fully open position as shown. (This is the start position that the jar opener needs to be in before you open every jar.) Position jar opener securely on top of jar.

4. While holding the jar with one hand and resting the other
hand firmly on top of the jar opener, press the Open Jar Button. The outer arms will close to hold the jar securely while the inner arms will close firmly on the lid. When tight, arms will rotate lid to loosen.

5. After lid is opened, press Release Lid Button. Jar opener
stops rotating when Release Lid Button is pressed and will automatically shut off when arms reach the outermost position. Lift the jar opener off the jar. DO NOT attempt to take it off the jar while still operating.

NOTES:
• DO NOT use with plastic jars. for glass jars with screw-top lids.
• Jar opener will open jars with lid sizes between 1 and 4 inches in diameter.
• Be sure outer arms of jar opener fit securely on jar to prevent slipping.
• The jar opener will turn off automatically when the arms reach the outermost or innermost position.
• For more compact storage, press Open Jar Button to reset arms to the innermost position.
• If the jar opener stops with arms in outermost position, but inner arms are perpendicular to the jar opener, rotate inner arms manually into position.

Cleaning
1. Wipe surfaces with a clean, damp, soft cloth. DO NOT
immerse in water. If necessary, use a mild nonabrasive cleanser.
Troubleshooting
PROBLEM Jar opener
will not operate.
Jar opener inner arms slip on lid of a refrigerated/ cold jar.
Jar opener outer arms slip on jar.
PROBABLE CAUSE
• Check to make sure batteries are in correct position.
• Batteries are weak or dead and need to be replaced.
• The lid is damp with condensation. Wipe lid clean and dry.
• Jar opener is not level on jar. Wipe jar clean and dry.
• Shape of the jar may be tapered. Rest hand firmly on top of jar opener to prevent slipping.

PROBLEM Jar opener
outer/inner arms do not clamp tight to jar lid.
Jar opener outer/inner arms do not open wide enough to fit over jar and lid.
Jar opener not opening previously opened jar.
Jar opener stops with arms in outermost position, but inner arms are perpendicular to the jar opener.
PROBABLE CAUSE
• Jar is too small to be opened by jar opener.
• Jar is too large to be opened by jar opener.
• Press Release Lid Button to release jar opener.
• Run jar lid under hot water to release any stuck-on food.
• Dry completely and try again.
• Rotate inner arms manually into position.
