SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
When using electric appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put unit, cord,
plug, or charger in water or other liquid.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
4. Use only with the charger provided with the appliance. Do not attempt to use this charger with any other products. Likewise, do not attempt to charge this appliance with any other charger.
5. Do not incinerate this appliance even if it is severely damaged. The batteries can explode in fire.
6. Do not operate in the presence of explosives and/or flammable fumes or liquids.
7. Avoid contact with moving parts.
8. Do not operate with any appliance with a damaged electrical
cord, plug, or charger or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Call our toll-free customer service number for information on examination, repair or adjustment.
9. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
10. Do not use outdoors.
11. Do not use an extension cord. Plug charger directly into an
electric outlet.
12. Do not let cord of charger hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
13. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
14. Do not open pressurized (aerosol-type) cans.
15. Do not open cans of flammable liquids such as lighter fluid.
16. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
17. Unplug the charger from the power outlet when not in use,
or before attempting any routine cleaning of the charger.
18. This product contains nickel-cadmium batteries, which must be recycled or disposed of properly at the end of the life of the appliance (see section on battery removal and disposal). Do not incinerate or compost batteries, as they will explode in high temperatures.
19. Under extreme conditions, leaks of batteries can occur. If the battery liquid gets on the skin, wash quickly with soap and water or neutralize area with lemon juice, vinegar or other mild acid. If the liquid gets into the eyes, immediately flush them with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes. Seek medical attention as soon as possible.

5. Press the piercing lever all the way down to energize the
can opener and pierce the can. It is not necessary to hold the lever down once cutting begins. Except for short cans or cans with a small diameter, you can let the can opener rotate freely around the top of the can without holding it.
6. The motor will automatically stop when the lid has been cut.
7. Raise the piercing lever to release the can opener from the
can. Carefully slide the lid from the magnet.

Using Your Can Opener
CAUTION: Be sure the appliance is off and the motor has
stopped completely before putting on or taking off the piercing lever and before cleaning.
1. Unplug charger from can opener. Do not use the can opener when it is attached to the charger.
2. Grasp the back of the can opener.
3. Flip up the hinged magnet so that it is in position to hold
the can lid.
4. Raise the piercing lever up and position can opener so that the rim of the can is firmly against the can guide and under the cutting blade. The base (feet) of the unit will be parallel to the counter.
WARNING: Keep fingers away from this area to avoid fingers being pinched.
Charging Instructions
IMPORTANT: The appliance is not fully charged when packed
in the carton. Charge unit for at least 24 hours before first use.
1. Connect the charger cord to the can opener.
2. Plug the charger into outlet. NOTE: While charging, it is normal for the body of the can
opener and the charger to feel warm.
3. To prolong the life of the batteries, let the batteries fully discharge before recharging.
How to Clean
1. Unplug charger from electrical outlet
and from can opener.
2. Remove cutting assembly by rotating the piercing lever counterclockwise until it pops out of position.
3. Wash the cutting assembly in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
4. Wipe the body of can opener with a damp cloth.
5. To reassemble, place the knob on the back of cutting
assembly into the hole on the front of the can opener. Push down and to the right until the assembly snaps into place.

NOTE: If the batteries have leaked, put on protective rubber
gloves before touching the batteries. Under extreme conditions, leaks from batteries can occur. In the United States, replacement batteries can be purchased at Batteries Plus. Call 1-800-MR-START (1-800-677-8278) for store locations.
Disposal:
Your appliance manufacturer is concerned about protecting
the environment and, therefore, has chosen to participate in the RBRC®(Rechargeable Battery Corporation) recycling program. The RBRC®is a non-profit organization whose recycling programs adhere to all federal and state mandates concerning the proper
collection, storage, and transportation of nickel-cadmium batteries. The RBRC®Seal on the nickel­cadmium battery pack indicates that the cost to recycle the battery pack has already been paid. Call 1-800-8-BATTERY to find the nearest retail collection site. You may also contact your local recycling center for information on where to drop off the used battery pack. For more information on RBRC®‚ check out their web site at www.rbrc.org.
Battery Removal and Disposal
This product uses nickel-cadmium rechargeable and recyclable batteries. When the unit can no longer be recharged, the batteries should be removed from the product and recycled or disposed of properly. Do not incinerate or compost batteries, as they will explode at high temperatures. Do not attempt to replace batteries with batteries other than those supplied by the manufacturer.
Removal:
1. Use a small Phillips screwdriver to
remove the screws on the back of the can opener. Remove rear cover.
2. Remove screw securing batteries. Pull off terminal connectors to remove batteries.
