BEFORE FIRST USE: Remove unit and packing materials from box. Wash all parts before first use. Turn base upside down to dry and allow excess water to drain. Some water drainage is normal and does not mean the product is leaking or broken. When completely dry, place base in freezer for at least 24 hours.

2
Allow base to freeze completely, at least 24 hours. Make sure the unit sits level in freezer.
Insert pop sticks into the base before adding liquid.
BEFORE FIRST USE: Wash all parts before first use. Turn base upside down to dry and allow excess water to drain. Some water drainage is normal and does not mean the product is leaking or broken. When completely dry, place base in freezer for at least 24 hours. Set freezer to the coldest temperature setting.
NOTE: Liquid contained in base is nontoxic. Do not place base in dishwasher. Do not use for other than intended purpose.
This is not a toy or children’s product.
3
Pour chilled liquid into the pop maker, making sure not to fill past the top line of the pop slot. A measuring cup helps prevent spills.
5
Wait approximately 9–11 minutes. A small amount of liquid may still look unfrozen on the surface. This will be absorbed into the pop when removed.
6
Insert removal tool through pop stick until resting in both notches on the top of the unit. Gently rotate removal tool until you feel the pop release from base.
Do not use pop sticks or a removal tool other than those provided by Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. Visit www.hamiltonbeach.com for more information on replacement parts.

If making a second batch, IMMEDIATELY place sticks into pop maker and repeat steps 3–6. Do not wash the pop maker between batches.
NOTE: The second batch of pops will always take longer than the first.
8
If your pops released easily and pop base is clean, there is no need to defrost the unit before placing it back into the freezer. If pops left residue on the base, broke inside the pop slot, or became stuck in some way, we recommend washing and drying the base thoroughly, then freezing for 24 hours before use. Even small ice crystals will prevent pops from releasing from the mold.
FOR BEST RESULTS:
• Chilled, naturally sweetened liquids freeze BEST. Do NOT use artificially sweetened liquids.
• Ice cream, pudding, or other “soft” ingredients may not freeze well, since the stick could slide out from the pops during removal.
• Ensure the liquid being poured into the base is cold and/or refrigerated—this helps pops freeze better.

Partially fill the pop slot with liquid, then wait a few minutes until the first layer is frozen. A measuring cup helps prevent spills.
4
Pour the next layer onto frozen mixture, then wait until frozen. Repeat until the mold is filled and pop is ready to be removed.

TIPS FOR “UNIQUE” POPS:
• When making striped pops, the number of batches may be less as the unit begins to defrost when sitting out.
• Tilting the base when freezing pops will help create angled stripes. Consider resting the pop base on a book or other raised surface while freezing the bottom layers. For the top layer, sit the base flat on the counter again, then fill with liquid to the top of the pop slot.
• Try adding other ingredients to your pops such as crushed candy, fruit, or any other small mixins. Mix-ins must be small enough to fit into the mold pop slot.

Tips for Best Results
• Make sure unit has been washed and THOROUGHLY dried—any ice crystals may cause pops to stick.
• Freeze base for at LEAST 24 hours.
• Base should sit flat in freezer.
• Make sure sticks are in place BEFORE pouring liquid into the pop maker.
• Do not touch inside the mold with bare fingers since they may get stuck! If this happens, run fingers under warm water until they release from the unit.
• Do not clean the unit with abrasive cleansers, scouring pads, or other harsh chemicals.
• Never place the pop sticks and removal tool into the freezer.
• If making a second batch of pops, do not delay between batches but IMMEDIATELY insert the additional pop sticks and pour in the liquid. Note that the second batch will take longer to freeze than the initial batch.
• If pops are completely stuck and will not release, do NOT force them. Defrost the unit using warm water. Wash, dry, refreeze, and then try again.

Troubleshooting
PROBLEM
Pops will not freeze.
Pops are “stuck” in the base.
Pops are taking too long to make.
I lost my pop sticks and/or removal tool.
Tabs on stick will not sit properly in the mold.
PROBABLE CAUSE
• Pop base may not have gotten cold enough. Ensure base is placed in freezer for at least 24 hours before use. Fill pop slots immediately after taking base out of freezer since the unit will begin to defrost as it sits out.
• May have waited too long in between batches.
• Be mindful of the ingredients used in your pops—anything with too much sugar, oil, alcohol, or fat will not freeze well.
• Wash and dry base, then dry thoroughly. Refreeze and try again!
• Remember, there may be a small amount of liquid left on the very top surface of the pop. This is normal and does not mean that pops are not frozen.
• Occasionally, pops will stick to the inside of the mold. Do not let pops sit in base after the appropriate freezing time has elapsed. Try first to release with the pop removal tool, but do not force it. If pops still will not remove, wash out base, dry, and refreeze.
• Be mindful of artificial sweeteners in pops—these can make them almost impossible to remove.
• Pop base may not have gotten cold enough. Ensure base is placed in freezer for at least 24 hours before use. Fill pop slots immediately after taking base out of freezer since the unit will begin to defrost as it sits out. Also, the liquid used may not have been cold enough.
• Please call 1.800.851.8900 in the U.S. or 1.800.267.2826 in Canada to order replacement parts, or visit hamiltonbeach.com in the U.S. or hamiltonbeach.ca in Canada to order replacement parts online.
• Make sure sticks are inserted BEFORE POURING LIQUID and that there are no other ingredients at the bottom of the mold. The pop will not pull out properly if not in the appropriate position.
