16. Be sure that handles are assembled and fastened properly.

This appliance is intended for household use only. WARNING! This product is provided with either a polarized (one
wide blade) or grounded (3-prong) plug to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized or grounded outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.
The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in, or tripping over, a longer cord. Do not use an extension cord.
To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit with this appliance.

Before First Use: Wash all parts in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

Turn griddle upside down. Align handles with screw posts on bottom of unit. Put split lock washer and then long screw in place. Secure long screw with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
NOTE: The assembled unit should appear as shown on the front cover of this Use & Care Guide. Handles are not intended to be removed after installation.
How to Assemble
A Phillips-head screwdriver is required. Do not use an electric or power screwdriver since they may strip and/or damage the screws. Wash and dry all parts thoroughly before use.

If desired, attach the splashguard to griddle. Align the cutout notches along the back of the unit. The splash­guard should rest on the back of the griddle. It is not attached with any screws.

Before First Use: Attach handles. See How to Assemble on page 3.
Place cooked food in warming tray while cooking next batch.
Fire Hazard.
Do not place nonfood items such as paper towels, napkins, or wax paper in tray.
When finished, unplug from outlet, then from unit.

Slide drip cup and warming tray into place.
Indicator light will go out when set temperature is reached.
Only use wooden or plastic cook­ing utensils. This will help prolong the life of the nonstick coating.

Unplug; allow to cool completely. Remove and empty drip tray.
Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleansers.
Electrical Shock Hazard.
Disconnect power before cleaning. Do not immerse cord or plug in any liquid.

Low, poor, or slow heating.
PROBABLE CAUSE/SOLUTION
• Allow griddle to heat for 10 to 15 minutes before use.
• Make sure the Temperature-Controlling Plug is fully inserted into the unit.
