Waffle BakingTips
• Most waffle recipes can be poured directly onto the nonstick waffle grids. Use a cooking spray for dessert waffles or any recipe with a lot of sugar. If your waffles start to stick, the grids may need to be scrubbed with a nylon brush to remove any cooked-on food particles.
• Waffles can be made ahead of time and kept warm in a 200ºF (93ºC) oven. Or let them cool and pack in an airtight container; store in refrigerator or freezer. They can be reheated in a microwave oven, a toaster oven, or regular oven.
• For soft, tender waffles, cook for about 6 minutes.
• For crisp, breakable waffles, cook for about
61⁄2 to 7 minutes.
Most waffles are done in about 6 minutes. Some of the recipes which are made from scratch may take a little longer. Check for doneness at about 6 minutes. If the cover of the waffle maker doesn’t lift up easily, then let it cook a minute more before checking again. When the steaming stops is also an indicator that the waffle is done.
How to Use
BEFORE FIRST USE: Wipe the bottom and top cooking grids with a soapy damp cloth. Rinse cloth then wipe grids again. Wipe or brush cooking grids with vegetable oil. This is only recommended before first use.
1. Make sure unit is unplugged.
2. Insert tabs on grid into slots on unit
near hinge area.
3. Press the other side of the grid to snap
into place. Repeat with other grid.
4. Close unit and plug into outlet.
5. Let preheat for about 6 minutes.
6. Raise cover and pour about 1 cup (250
ml) batter onto the center of cooking grid. Lower the cover. The
waffle maker
will use a total of 1 cup (250 ml) batter.
7. Waffles are done in about 5 to 8
minutes, depending on recipe, or when steaming stops. Remove waffle with plastic or wooden utensil. Never use metal. This will damage the nonstick coating.
8. Waffles can be served whole or bro-
ken into four quarters. Allow to cool for approximately 10 seconds before breaking.
9. When finished cooking, unplug unit
and let cool then follow instructions in “To Clean.”
NOTE: Do not operate unit unless grids are securely snapped in place.
WARNING: Always use a hot mitt to
protect hand when opening a hot waffle baker. Escaping steam can burn.

cooking grids have cooled.
2. Press release buttons to remove
the cooking grids. Wash in hot, soapy water; rinse and dry. The cooking grids can also be washed in an automatic dishwasher.
3. If grease drips over the grids into the
reflector pans, the reflector pans must also be cleaned. Using a soapy, damp cloth, carefully wipe entire surface of pan to
remove all grease. Let dry.
4. To clean the outside of the unit,
wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers on the unit. Do not place unit in automatic dishwasher or immerse unit in water or other liquid.
