3. Safety Notes
The product is intended for private, non­commercial use only.
Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating, and only use it in a dry environment.
Do not allow yourself to be distracted by the product, for example when driving a vehicle or operating sports equipment. Always pay attention to the surrounding trac and your environment.
Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specications.
Always pull directly on the plug when disconnecting the cable, never on the cable itself.
Dispose of packaging material immediately according to locally applicable regulations.
Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
Warning
Only use suitable charging devices or USB connections for charging.
As a rule, do not charge devices or USB connections that are defective and do not try to repair them yourself.
Do not overcharge the product or allow the battery to completely discharge.
Avoid storing, charging or using batteries in extreme temperatures.
We suggest to fully charge the item for at least one time in two months

Note
When using this product, observe the applicable local trac laws and regulations.
Take care that components such as airbags, safety areas, controls, instruments, etc. and visibility are not blocked or restricted.
4. Getting Started / Charging the Battery
Note
The included battery pack may exclusively be used with and in this hands-free system!
The hands-free set is equipped with a rechargeable battery. The battery must be fully charged before using the device for the rst time.
Open the back cover, insert the rechargeable battery provided (with the poles correctly matched) and then replace the cover.
Ensure that the hands-free set is switched off before charging it.
Charging with a vehicle charger:
Plug the charger (B) into a car socket of the vehicle’s electrical system.
When the power supply is active, the LED function indicator lights up in red. The charger is now ready for use.
Begin charging the battery by connecting the included USB charging cable to the charging terminal (4) as well as to the USB connection of the vehicle charger (B).
Note – Vehicle charger
For some vehicle types, the ignition has to be switched on to supply power to the car socket. For more information, please refer to your vehicle’s operating instructions.
Use the included vehicle charger to charge this device only.
Charging via a PC/notebook/USB charger:
Start the charging procedure by connecting the supplied USB charging cable to the charging socket (4) and to the USB port of a PC/notebook.
You can also charge the hands-free system via an appropriate USB charger. Observe the operating instructions of the used USB charger for this purpose.
During the charging procedure the status LED (3) continuously shines red.
It may take up to 3 hours until the battery is completely charged.
If the battery is completely charged the status LED (3) goes out.
Disconnect all cables and separate all mains connections afterwards.
Note
If you have not used the device in months, it may take 15 to 30 minutes of charging before the status LED (3) lights up in red.

5. Operation
Switching the carkit on/off
Turn On:
With the device off, press and hold the
-multifunction button (7) for 4 seconds until you hear a short tone. The status LED (3) will light up in blue for about 3 seconds and then ash blue twice.
Turn Off: With the device on, press and hold the
-multifunction button (7) for 4 seconds until you hear a short tone. The status LED (3) will light up in red briey before the device turns off.
Attachment:
Slide the provided clip (D) into the groove on the rear of the hands-free set so that you can attach it to your vehicle’s sun shade. Make sure that the microphone is not covered.
Note
The functions described in this section are only available for Bluetooth-capable terminal devices.
5.1. Bluetooth pairing
Note – Pairing
Make sure that your Bluetooth-capable terminal device is on and Bluetooth is activated.
For more information, please refer to the operating instructions of your terminal device.
This hands-free set and the terminal device should not be any further than 1 metre away from each other. The shorter the distance, the better.
Ensure that the hands-free set is turned off.
Press and hold the -multifunction button (7) for
approx. 7 seconds until the status LED (3) begins to alternate red and blue. The hands-free set is searching for a Bluetooth connection.
Open the Bluetooth settings on your terminal device and wait until BTCK-10B appears in the list of Bluetooth devices found.
Select BTCK-10B and wait until the hands-free set is listed as connected in the Bluetooth settings on your terminal device.
Note – Bluetooth password
Some terminal devices require a password for establishing a connection with another Bluetooth device.
If your terminal device requests a password to establish the connection, enter 0000.
You can now use the Hands-Free System.
Note
If pairing was successful, the status LED (3) ashes blue every 10 seconds.
The hands-free set will turn off automatically after 2 minutes if no device is paired. There will be two tones and the status LED (3) will light up in red. Repeat the steps to pair the devices.

5.2. Automatic Bluetooth connection (after successful pairing)
Note
Make sure that your Bluetooth-capable terminal device is on and Bluetooth is activated.
For more information, please refer to the operating instructions of your terminal device.
Turn the hands-free set on as described in
5. Operation / Turning On.
After the devices have been paired once, the connection is then established automatically.
You can now use the hands-free set.
Note
If pairing was successful, the status LED (3) ashes blue every 10 seconds.
If pairing was not successful, the status LED (3) ashes blue every 5 seconds, and you will have to perform pairing again.
It may be necessary to change the settings on your terminal device to enable it to automatically connect to the paired hands­free set.
Note – Connection impaired
If the connection is interrupted, the status LED (3) will ash twice in blue every 10 seconds. You may only need to conrm the connection on your terminal device. After the headset and terminal device have been paired, a connection is established automatically. If the Bluetooth connection is not established automatically, check the following:
Check the Bluetooth settings of your terminal device to see whether Avantree BTCK-10B is connected. If not, repeat the steps listed under
5.1. Bluetooth pairing.
Check whether obstacles are impairing the range. If so, move the devices closer together.
The performance can also be affected by a weak battery.
5.3. Multipairing
The BTCK-10B hands-free set can be paired with two terminal devices at once so that, for example, you can use a private and a business mobile phone simultaneously.
To activate the multi-pairing function, press and hold the -button (5) for approx. 3 seconds until you hear a tone.
To begin with, activate Bluetooth only on the rst terminal device that you wish to pair.
Pair the rst terminal device with the hands-free set as described in 5.1. Bluetooth Pairing Setup.
Turn the hands-free set off as described in 5. Operation/Turning Off.
Activate Bluetooth on the second terminal device.
Press and hold the -multifunction button (7) for
approx. 7 seconds until the status LED (3) begins to alternate red and blue. The hands-free set is searching for a Bluetooth connection.

Continue according to 5.1. Bluetooth Pairing Setup.
After the second terminal device has been connected, turn the hands-free set off and then back on.
The hands-free set will automatically connect to the last two terminal devices paired.
Note – Disabling multi-pairing
To disable the multi-pairing function, press and hold the -button (6) for approx. 3 seconds until you hear a tone.
The hands-free set will automatically connect to the last terminal device paired.
5.4. Hands-free function

Note that support for certain key functions may vary depending on your terminal device.
For more information, please refer to the operating instructions of your terminal device.
Making a call
Dial the number directly on your terminal device to make a call.
Voice dialling function
Check that your mobile phone supports voice dialling.
Briey press the
-multifunction button (7). You
will hear a short tone.
The mobile phone’s voice control will be activated.
Start a call as described in your mobile phone’s
operating instructions.
Speak the name of the contact you wish to call.
If the voice entry is associated with a phone
number that is saved on your mobile phone, the number will be dialled.
Accepting calls
Press the -multifunction button (7) once to answer an incoming call.
Rejecting an incoming call
Press and hold the -multifunction button (7) for approx. 2-3 seconds to reject an incoming call.
Ending a call
During a call, press the -multifunction button (7) once to end the call.
Redial
Briey press the
-multifunction button (7)
twice to call the last number.
You will hear a short tone.
Forwarding a call
During the call, press and hold the
-multifunction button (7) for approx. 3 seconds to forward the call from the hands-free set to the terminal device or from the terminal device to the hands-free set.
Taking a second call while a call is in progress
Press the -multifunction button (7) twice briey to put the current call on hold and accept an incoming second call.
Rejecting a second call while a call is in progress
Press and hold the -multifunction button (7) for approx. 2-3 seconds to reject an incoming second call and continue the current call.
Switching between two calls
Press the -multifunction button (7) to switch between the two calls. The other call will be held until you switch back to it or it is ended.

Ending one of two calls
Press the
-multifunction button (7) once to end
the current call and continue the other call.
5.5. Volume control and mute function
Press the -button (6) to reduce the volume.
Press the -button (5) to increase the volume.
A short acoustic signal sounds once when the
maximum volume is reached.
Press the mute button (2) during a call to turn off the microphone (8). The call will be put on hold, but your conversation partner will not be able to hear you.
You will hear a short tone. When the microphone is muted, the status LED (3) will be lit in red.
Press the mute button (2) again to un-mute the microphone. You will hear a short tone. The status LED (3) will go out.
5.6. Battery level
To save energy, the hands-free set will automatically switch off if it is not connected to any device for longer than 30 minutes.
When the battery charge runs low, the status LED (3) will begin to ash red every 3 seconds.

Note
However, the talk and standby times may vary when used with different mobile phones or other compatible Bluetooth devices, usage settings, usage styles and environments.
5.8. Reset
When the hands-free set is on, press and hold the -button (6) and the -button (5) simultaneously for approx. 10 seconds to reset the hands-free set to factory settings.
You will hear two tones and the status LED (3) will ash red and blue simultaneously multiple times.
All previous pairings will be deleted and the hands-free set will start searching for connections.
6. Care and Maintenance
Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Make sure that water does not get into the product.
