Sehr geehrte Kundin, sehr geehrter Kunde, mit dem Kauf dieses WLAN Routers haben Sie sich für ein Quali-

tätsprodukt von Hama entschieden, welches hinsichtlich Technik und Funktionalität dem modernsten Entwicklungsstandard entspricht.

Lesen Sie die hier enthaltenen Informationen, damit Sie mit Ihrem Gerät schnell vertraut werden und seine Funktionen in vollem Umfang nutzen können.

Informationen zu dieser Bedienungsanleitung

Diese Bedienungsanleitung ist Bestandteil des WLAN Routers WIRELESS LAN 300 Mbps (nachfolgend als Gerät bezeichnet) und gibt Ihnen wichtige Hinweise für den bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauch, die Sicherheit, den Anschluss sowie die Bedienung des Gerätes.

Die Bedienungsanleitung muss ständig in der Nähe des Gerätes verfügbar sein. Sie ist von jeder Person zu lesen und anzuwenden, die dieses Gerät bedient oder die Störungsbehebung am Gerät durchführt.

Bewahren Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung auf und geben Sie diese mit dem Gerät an Nachbesitzer weiter.

Beachten Sie die folgenden Sicherheitshinweise, um eine Gefährdung durch elektrischen Strom zu vermeiden:

Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn Steckernetzteil, das An- ► schlusskabel oder der Anschlussstecker beschädigt sind.

Öffnen Sie auf keinen Fall das Gehäuse des Gerätes. Werden ► spannungsführende Anschlüsse berührt und der elektrische und mechanische Aufbau verändert, besteht Stromschlaggefahr.

Grundlegende Sicherheitshinweise

Beachten Sie für einen sicheren Umgang mit dem Gerät die folgenden Sicherheitshinweise:

Öffnen Sie das Gerät nicht. Durch unbefugtes Öffnen und un- ■ sachgemäße Reparaturen können Gefahren für die Benutzer des Gerätes entstehen. Lassen Sie Reparaturen am Gerät nur von einem Fachmann durchführen. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen erlischt der Garantieanspruch.

Eine Reparatur des Gerätes während der Garantiezeit darf nur ■ von einem vom Hersteller autorisierten Kundendienst vorgenommen werden, sonst besteht bei nachfolgenden Schäden kein Garantieanspruch mehr.

Defekte Bauteile dürfen nur gegen Original-Ersatzteile ausge- ■ tauscht werden. Nur bei diesen Teilen ist gewährleistet, dass sie die Sicherheitsanforderungen erfüllen werden.

Schützen Sie das Gerät vor Feuchtigkeit und dem Eindringen von ■ Flüssigkeiten. Bei Kontakt mit Flüssigkeit sofort das Gerät von der Stromversorgung trennen.

Betreiben Sie das Gerät nicht in extrem staubiger Umgebung ■ oder in der Nähe von Wärmequellen.

Betreiben Sie das Gerät nur mit aufgeschraubten WLAN-Anten- ■

nen.

Reinigen Sie das Gehäuse des Gerätes mit einem leicht ange- ■ feuchteten Tuch. Verwenden Sie keine scharfen Reinigungs- oder Lösungsmittel.

Die Zuleitung immer am Anschlussstecker aus der Steckdose ■ ziehen, nicht am Anschlusskabel.

Stellen Sie keine Gegenstände auf das Gerät. ■ Elektronische Geräte sind empndlich, vermeiden Sie Stöße oder ■

Schläge. Bei auftretenden Störungen und bei Gewitter den Anschlussste- ■

cker aus der Steckdose ziehen.

Rückseite des Gerätes

Anschlüsse für WLAN Antennen:

Zum Anschluss der im Lieferumfang enthaltenen WLANAntennen. Sie ermöglichen Endgeräten wie PCs, Notebooks oder PDAs den kabellosen Funkkontakt mit dem Gerät.

Radio ON/OFF:

Zum Ausschalten der WLAN-Funktion (z. B. über Nacht). Kabelgebundene LAN-Schnittstellen sind nicht betroffen.

Reset/WPS:

Die Reset/WPS-Taste hat zwei Funktionen:

Durch langes Drücken (10 Sekunden) wird das Gerät auf ■ die werksseitigen Voreinstellungen zurückgesetzt.

Durch kurzes Drücken können Geräte einem bestehen- ■ den Netzwerk hinzugefügt werden.

LAN-Buchsen 1-4:

Zum Anschluss von Endgeräten wie PC oder Notebook per LAN-Kabel.

WAN-Port:

Zum Anschluss an ein Breitbandmodem oder einen anderen Router.

12 VDC-Buchse:

Zum Anschluss des Steckernetzteils.

Bei der Inbetriebnahme des Gerätes können Personen- und Sachschäden auftreten!

Beachten Sie die folgenden Sicherheitshinweise um die Gefahren zu vermeiden:

Verpackungsmaterialien dürfen nicht zum Spielen verwendet ► werden. Es besteht Erstickungsgefahr.

Beachten Sie die Hinweise zu den Anforderungen an den ► Aufstellort sowie zum elektrischen Anschluss des Gerätes um Personen- und Sachschäden zu vermeiden.

Auspacken

Entnehmen Sie alle Teile des Gerätes und die Bedienungsanlei-  tung aus dem Karton.

Entfernen Sie vor dem Erstgebrauch alle Verpackungsmateriali-  en vom Gerät.

Lieferumfang und Transportinspektion

Das Gerät wird standardmäßig mit folgenden Komponenten geliefert:

HINWEIS

Prüfen Sie die Lieferung auf Vollständigkeit und auf sichtbare ► Schäden. Melden Sie eine unvollständige oder beschädigte Lieferung umgehend Ihrem Lieferanten/Händler.

Entsorgung der Verpackung

Die Verpackung schützt das Gerät vor Transportschäden. Die Verpackungsmaterialien sind nach umweltverträglichen und entsorgungstechnischen Gesichtspunkten ausgewählt und deshalb recyclebar.

Die Rückführung der Verpackung in den Materialkreislauf spart Rohstoffe und verringert das Abfallaufkommen. Entsorgen Sie nicht mehr benötigte Verpackungsmaterialien gemäß den örtlich geltenden Vorschriften.

HINWEIS

Heben Sie wenn möglich die Originalverpackung während der ► Garantiezeit des Gerätes auf, um das Gerät im Garantiefall ordnungsgemäß verpacken zu können.

WLAN Antennen montieren

Zur Montage der WLAN-Antennen gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

Schrauben Sie die Schraubanschlüsse der WLAN-Antennen auf  den Antennenanschlüsse

an der Rückseite des Gerätes auf.

HINWEIS

Den Schraubanschluss der WLAN-Antenne beim Aufsetzen ► nicht verkanten. Das Gewinde könnte beschädigt werden.

Nach ca. 4 Umdrehungen ist die WLAN-Antenne ganz ► aufgeschraubt.

Klappen Sie die WLAN-Antennen um 90° und richten Sie die  Antenne durch Drehen im Uhrzeigersinn nach oben aus.

Vorrausetzungen für den Betrieb

Für die Installation und den Betrieb des Gerätes müssen folgende Voraussetzungen erfüllt sein:

Das TCP/IP Protokoll muss auf allen PCs installiert sein. ■ Der Webbrowser muss JavaScript unterstützen (z. B. Mozilla ■

Firefox oder Microsoft Internet Explorer). Für den Internetzugang sind ein Internet-Account bei einem ■

Internet-Service-Provider sowie ein DSL-Anschluss erforderlich. Alle eingesetzten Geräte müssen den Standards IEEE 802.11g, ■

IEEE 802.11b oder dem Entwurf IEEE 802.11n entsprechen.

Anforderungen an den Aufstellort

Für einen sicheren und fehlerfreien Betrieb des Gerätes muss der Aufstellort folgende Voraussetzungen erfüllen:

Stellen Sie das Gerät an ■ einem zentralen Ort auf, an dem sich möglichst wenige Hindernisse zwischen dem Gerät und den PCs benden.

Stellen Sie das Gerät nicht in der Nähe von metallischen Gegen- ■ ständen und anderen elektrischen oder strahlenden Geräten auf.

HINWEIS

Versuchen Sie Störquellen, wie z. B. DECT-Telefone, ► Handys, Bluetooth-Geräte oder andere WLAN-Netzwerke zu beseitigen.

Ist dies nicht möglich, kann auch ein Kanalwechsel Abhilfe ►

schaffen. Setzen Sie das Gerät keiner direkten Sonneneinstrahlung aus. ■ Die Steckdose muss leicht zugänglich sein, so dass das Stecker- ■

netzteil notfalls schnell aus der Steckdose gezogen werden kann.

Anschluss der LAN-Kabel

Schließen Sie die Computer und andere Netzwerkgeräte, wie  zum Beispiel Hub/Switch, an die LAN-Buchsen 1-4 an. Verwenden Sie hierzu das mitgelieferte Netzwerkkabel. Der eingebaute Switch erkennt selbständig die Verbindungsgeschwindigkeit von 10 oder 100 Mbps, half/full Duplex Übertragungsmodus sowie den verwendeten Kabeltyp.

Anschluss des WAN-Kabels

Verbinden Sie den Ethernet-Port Ihres Modems mit dem WAN-  Port

am Gerät. Verwenden Sie das Kabel, das mit Ihrem Modem mitgeliefert wurde. Sollte kein Kabel mitgeliefert worden sein, benutzen Sie ein handelsübliches Kabel.

Elektrischer Anschluss

Für einen sicheren und fehlerfreien Betrieb des Gerätes sind beim elektrischen Anschluss folgende Hinweise zu beachten:

Das Gerät wird über das mitgelieferte Steckernetzteil mit einer ■ Gleichspannung von 12 Volt versorgt. Schließen Sie das Gerät ausschließlich über das mitgelieferte Steckernetzteil an die Stromversorgung an.

Vergleichen Sie vor dem Anschließen des Gerätes die Anschluss- ■ daten des Steckernetzteils (Spannung und Frequenz) auf dem Typenschild mit denen Ihres Elektronetzes. Diese Daten müssen übereinstimmen, damit keine Schäden am Gerät auftreten.

Schützen Sie das Anschlusskabel vor heißen Oberächen und ■ scharfen Kanten.

Achten Sie darauf, dass das Anschlusskabel nicht straff gespannt ■ oder geknickt wird.

Lassen Sie das Anschlusskabel nicht über Ecken hängen (Stol- ■ perdrahteffekt).

Wenn Sie das Gerät für längere Zeit nicht nutzen, trennen Sie ■ das Steckernetzteil von der Stromversorgung.

Steckernetzteil anschließen

Schließen Sie den Anschlussstecker des Steckernetzteils an die  12 VDC-Buchse

des Gerätes an.

Stecken Sie das Steckernetzteil in die Steckdose. 

Überprüfung der Installation

Die Power-LED sollte leuchten. ■ Für jede LAN-Verbindung (PC) sollte eine LAN-LED leuchten ■

(vorausgesetzt, der PC ist eingeschaltet). Die WLAN-LED sollte leuchten, wenn WLAN-Clients verbunden ■

sind. Die WAN-LED sollte leuchten, wenn das Modem eingeschaltet ■

ist.

PC Konguration

IP-Adresse kongurieren

Standardmäßig ist für das Gerät die IP- Adresse 192.168.2.1 und ein aktivierter DHCP-Server vorkonguriert. Dadurch erhalten die angeschlossenen PCs automatisch passende Adressen und weitere Einstellungen. Es ist empfehlenswert diese Einstellung beizubehalten.

Um die Einstellungen an ihrem PC zu überprüfen gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

Wählen Sie  Start -> Systemsteuerung -> Netzwerkverbindungen

Wählen Sie die Netzwerkverbindung Ihres LAN aus. 

Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf die entsprechende  Netzwerkverbindung und wählen Sie „Eigenschaften“.

Wählen Sie „Internetprotokoll (TCP/IP)“ und klicken Sie auf  „Eigenschaften“.

Wählen Sie „IP-Adresse automatisch beziehen“ und „DNS-Ser-  veradresse automatisch beziehen“.

Bestätigen Sie anschließend mit „OK“ und im folgenden Fenster  ebenfalls mit „OK“.

Ihr PC ist nun so konguriert, dass er seine IP-Adresse automatisch vom Router bezieht.

Konguration des Gerätes

Kongurationsoberäche starten

Die Einstellung des Gerätes erfolgt über einen Webbrowser (Microsoft Internet-Explorer, Mozilla Firefox oder ähnlich).

Gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

Fahren Sie Ihren PC nach der Installation des Gerätes in Ihrem  LAN hoch. Falls Ihr PC bereits eingeschaltet ist, führen Sie einen Neustart durch.

Starten Sie Ihren Webbrowser.  Geben Sie in die Adresszeile: „  http://192.168.2.1” ein.

Anmeldung

Nach dem Aufruf der Kongurationsoberäche des Gerätes erscheint im Webbrowser zunächst das Anmeldefenster.

Geben Sie in das Feld „Benutzername“:  admin ein. Geben Sie in das Feld „Passwort“:  1234 ein. Klicken Sie nach der Eingabe auf „OK“, um sich auf dem Gerät 

einzuloggen.

Nach erfolgreicher Anmeldung wird die Kongurationsoberäche (Startseite) des Gerätes angezeigt:

Menüsprache wählen

Wählen Sie auf der Startseite oben rechts zwischen den Spra-  chen Deutsch, Englisch und Französisch. Die Sprache wird sofort umgestellt und kann jederzeit wieder geändert werden.

Konguration der Internetverbindung

Um das Gerät schnell einzurichten, können Sie einen integrierten Assistenten benutzen.

Zum Starten des Einrichtungsassistenten klicken Sie auf der  Startseite auf die Schaltäche „Assistent“.

Zeitzone

Wählen Sie die korrekte Zeitzone z. B. für Deutschland „(GMT  +01:00) Amsterdam, Berlin, Bern, Rome, Stockholm, Vienna“. Die restlichen Einstellungen können ohne Änderung übernommen werden.

Drücken Sie die Schaltäche „Weiter“, um fortzufahren. 

WAN-Typ

Wählen Sie einen WAN-Verbindungstyp 

Typ Details

Kabelmodem

Ihre IP-Adresse wird Ihnen automatisch beim Verbindungsaufbau zu Ihrem ISP (Internet Service Provider) zugeordnet.

Statische IP DSL

Ihr ISP weist Ihnen eine permanente IPAdresse zu.

PPPoE DSL

Verbindungsaufbau zum ISP nur nach Bedarf. Die IP-Adresse wird normalerweise automatisch zugewiesen. Ihr ISP weist Ihnen ein Passwort und einen Benutzernamen zu.

PPTP DSL

Verbindungsaufbau zum ISP nur nach Bedarf. Die IP-Adresse wird gewöhnlich automatisch zugeordnet, kann aber auch statisch (fest) sein. Ihr ISP weist Ihnen eine lokale IP, eine Remote IP und eine Verbindungs ID zu.

Typ Details

L2TP DSL

Verbindungsaufbau zum ISP nur nach Bedarf. Die IP-Adresse wird gewöhnlich automatisch zugeordnet, kann aber auch statisch (fest) sein. Ihr ISP weist Ihnen ein Passwort, einen Benutzernamen und eine L2TP IP-Adresse zu.

In der folgenden Ansicht müssen Sie die Zugangsdaten für Ihren Provider eingeben. Diese Informationen erhalten Sie entweder aus Ihren Unterlagen oder direkt vom Provider. Auf Grund der weiten Verbreitung von DSL über PPPoE bezieht sich die weitere Beschreibung auf diesen Verbindungstyp.

Wählen Sie hier das Einwahlverhalten Ihres Gerätes aus. Sie haben die Wahl zwischen:

Permanent: ■ Das Gerät ist immer mit dem Internet verbunden. Dieser Verbindungstyp ist zu empfehlen, wenn Sie z. B. eine Flatrate ohne Zeitbegrenzung haben.

Verbindung bei Bedarf: ■ Das Gerät wählt sich erst bei einer Anforderung durch einen angeschlossenen Computer ein, z. B. wenn Sie an einem Computer den Browser öffnen. Die Verbindung besteht dann so lange, bis die unter Leerlaufzeit eingestellte Zeit, ohne Aktivität abgelaufen ist.

Manuell: ■ Sie stellen die Verbindung über den Button „Verbinden“ her und beenden die Verbindung über den Button „Trennen“.

Leerlaufzeit

Wählen Sie hier, nach wie vielen Minuten Inaktivität die Internetverbindung getrennt werden soll. Es sind Werte zwischen 1 und 1000 möglich.

Bestätigen Sie anschließend mit „OK“.  Drücken Sie im nächsten Fenster auf „Anwenden“. Das Gerät 

benötigt nun ca. 30 Sekunden, um neu zu starten, damit die Einstellungen wirksam werden.

Das Gerät ist nun soweit konguriert, dass Sie mit den angebundenen Computern auf das Internet zugreifen können.

HINWEIS

Bei Volumen- bzw. Zeittarifen ist es empfehlenswert „Verbin- ► dung bei Bedarf“ auszuwählen, damit der Internetzugang automatisch nach der eingestellten „Leerlaufzeit“, getrennt wird. Bei permanenter Verbindung können ansonsten hohe Verbindungskosten entstehen.

Beachten Sie aber auch, dass das Schließen des Browsers ► nicht zwingend die Abwahl aus dem Internet bedeutet. Sehr viele Programme senden Anfragen in das Internet oder empfangen Daten von dort, ohne das dies eindeutig erkennbar ist. Dies ist für das Gerät eine gleichwertige Anfrage, wie z. B. das Öffnen des Browsers. Möchten Sie sicher stellen, dass keine aktive Verbindung in das Internet besteht, sollten Sie das Gerät ausschalten oder vom Modem trennen.

LAN Einstellungen

Hier werden die Einstellungen für das kabelgebundene LAN vorgenommen. Zum Ändern der Standard LAN Einstellungen gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

DHCP Client End IP

Geben Sie hier das Ende des IP-Adressenbereichs ein, aus dem der DHCP Server IP-Adressen an die Clients verteilen darf.

Domaine Name Geben Sie hier den Domainenamen ein.

Statische DHCP Lease Tabelle

Hier haben Sie die Möglichkeit, einer bestimmten MAC-Adresse eine IP-Adresse aus dem gültigen Bereich fest zu zuordnen. Meldet sich der Client am Gerät an bekommt er immer diese IP-Adresse zugewiesen.

Gehen Sie dafür wie folgt vor:

Aktivieren Sie „Statische DHCP Leases“  Tragen Sie in die Tabelle die „MAC-Adress“ und die „IP-Adresse“ 

ein. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltäche „Hinzufügen“, um den Eintrag 

in der Tabelle zu speichern oder „löschen“, um den Eintrag zu löschen.

Einstellungen speichern

Bestätigen Sie Ihre Eingaben mit „Anwenden“.  Drücken Sie im nächsten Fenster auf „Anwenden“. Das Gerät 

benötigt nun ca. 30 Sekunden, um neu zu starten, damit die Einstellungen wirksam werden.

HINWEIS

Nach dem Neustart ist die neue LAN-Konguration gültig. ► Um das Webinterface im Browser aufzurufen, müssen Sie die neue IP-Adresse verwenden.

Wireless LAN Einstellungen

Hier werden die Einstellungen für das Wireless LAN vorgenommen. Zum Ändern der Standard WLAN Einstellungen gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

Wählen Sie „Basiseinstellungen“ im Menü links.  Unter „Modus“ wählen Sie welche Aufgabe das Gerät im Netz- 

werk übernehmen soll.

Modus Bemerkungen

Wenn das Gerät der einzige Access Point in Ihrem Netzwerk ist oder keine Verbindung auf Bridge-Ebene zu andernen Access Points hergestellt werden soll.

AP Bridge-

Punkt zu Punkt

Wenn Sie diesen Access Point mit einem zweitem Access Point drahtlos verbinden möchten. Clients haben in diesem Modus nicht die Möglichkeit sich über eine drahtlose Verbindung anzumelden.

AP Bridge-

Punkt zu Multi-Punkt

Wenn Sie diesen Access Point mit mehreren anderen Accespoints drahtlos verbinden möchten. Clients haben in diesem Modus nicht die Möglichkeit sich über eine drahtlose Verbindung anzumelden.

AP Bridge WDS

Wenn Sie diesen Access Point mit einem oder mehreren anderen Access Points drahtlos verbinden möchten und Clients weiterhin die drahtlose Anmeldung gewährt werden soll.

Die weitere Konguration ist abhängig von dem gewählten Modus.

Betrieb als AP Bridge WDS

WDS (Wireless Distribution System) bezeichnet die drahtlose Verbindung zwischen mehreren Access Points untereinander. Außerdem wird die Anmeldung von Clients ermöglicht, was andere Bridge Betriebsarten nicht zulassen. Dabei wird für jeden zusätzlichen Access Point die Bandbreite des Netzes halbiert, weil die Pakete doppelt übertragen werden müssen.

Einstellung der Wireless LAN Verschlüsselung

Folgende Begriffe sind zu unterscheiden:

Authentizierung: ■ Ist ein Vorgang, bei dem die Identität, zum Beispiel einer Person, an Hand eines bestimmten Merkmals festgestellt wird. Dies kann zum Beispiel mit einem Fingerabdruck, einem Passwort oder einem anderen Berechtigungsnachweis geschehen.

Verschlüsselung: ■ Ist ein Vorgang, bei dem ein „Klartext“ mit Hilfe eines Verschlüsselungsverfahrens (Algorithmus) in einen „Geheimtext“ umgewandelt wird. Hierzu können einer oder auch mehrere Schlüssel verwendet werden. Jedes einzelne Verschlüsselungsverfahren bietet eine oder mehrere Möglichkeiten der Authentizierung.

HINWEIS

Standardmäßig ist die Verschlüsselung deaktiviert. Es wird aber ► aus Sicherheitsgründen empfohlen immer eine Verschlüsselung zu verwenden.

Neben WPA unterstützt das Gerät auch das ältere Verfahren WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy). WEP ist nur erforderlich, falls nicht alle Client-Computer im Wireless LAN das WPA-Verfahren beherrschen.

HINWEIS

Beachten Sie, dass das WEP-Verfahren heute nicht mehr als ► sicher gilt. Es kann nicht ausgeschlossen werden, dass mit WEP verschlüsselte Daten von unbefugten Dritten mitgelesen und manipuliert werden können. Wir empfehlen daher dringend, WEP zu meiden und ausschließlich mit dem sicheren WPAVerfahren zu verschlüsseln.

Einstellung der Verschlüsselung für AP

Pre-Shared Key

Format

Wählen Sie zwischen:

Passphrase, für einen Schlüssel mit ■ einer Länge von mindestens 8 und höchstens 63 beliebigen Zeichen, wobei Buchstaben (A-Z), Zahlen und Satzzeichen erlaubt sind

Hex für einen Schlüssel mit einer Län- ■ ge von 64 Zeichen, wobei nur Zeichen von 0-9 und a-f verwendet werden dürfen.

Pre-Shared Key

Geben Sie hier Ihren beliebigen Schlüssel mit der erforderlichen Länge ein.

HINWEIS

Achten Sie bei der Eingabe des Schlüssels auf korrekte Groß- ► und Kleinschreibung.

Klicken Sie in der nächsten Ansicht auf die Schaltäche „An-  wenden“ und in der folgenden Ansicht auch „Anwenden“, um die Einstellungen zu speichern.

Das Gerät wird neu gestartet. Nach dem Neustart steht das Wireless LAN mit Verschlüsselung zur Verfügung.

WPS Automatische Konguration

WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) ist eine Funktion, die Ihnen die Sicherheitskonguration der Wireless LAN Verbindung erleichtert.

HINWEIS

Um die Funktion nutzen zu können, muss der Router/Access ► Point und die Gegenstelle (WLAN USB Stick, PCI Karte oder PCMCIA Karte) über die WPS Funktion verfügen.

Es gibt zwei Verfahren die Sicherheitskonguration vorzunehmen:

Konguration per Taste ■ Konguration mit Pincode ■

Konguration per Taste

Drücken Sie am Gerät die Reset/WPS-Taste 

Drücken Sie innerhalb von 2 Minuten im Kongurationspro-  gramm des WLAN Adapters die Schaltäche „PBC“ auf der Registerkarte „WPS“.

Konguration mit Pincode

Notieren Sie sich den Pincode, der im Kongurationsprogramm  des WLAN Adapters angezeigt wird.

Wählen Sie das Zielnetzwerk in der oberen Liste und klicken Sie  anschließend auf die Schaltäche „PIN“.

Wechseln Sie zur Benutzeroberäche des Gerätes und wählen  Sie Einrichtung → Wireless→ WPS.

Geben Sie in das Eingabefeld für den Pincode den notierten  Code ein und drücken Sie „Starte PIN“, um die Übertragung zu starten. Die Verbindung wird nun automatisch aufgebaut.

Nach erfolgreicher Verbindung wird ein Prol angelegt, welches nach einem Neustart die Verbindung automatisch wiederherstellt.

Neues Passwort vergeben

Vergeben Sie ein neues Passwort für den Zugang zum Gerät, damit Unbefugten der Zugang ins Kongurationsmenü des Gerätes verwehrt bleibt. Gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

Klicken Sie auf der Startseite auf die Schaltäche „Einrichtung“  und wählen Sie dann „System“ und anschließend „PasswortKonguration“ im Menü links.

Eingabefeld Bemerkungen

Derzeitiges Passwort

Geben Sie hier das derzeitige Passwort ein. Das standardmäßige Passwort ist auf „1234“ gesetzt.

Neues Passwort

Geben Sie hier ein beliebiges neues Passwort ein.

Passwort bestätigen

Geben Sie hier zur Bestätigung das neue Passwort noch einmal ein.

Klicken Sie auf die Schaltäche „Anwenden“ und in der folgen-  den Ansicht auch „Anwenden“, um die Einstellungen zu speichern.

Nach dem Neustart des Gerätes ist das neue Passwort gültig.

Werkzeuge

Das Gerät stellt ihnen verschiedene Werkzeuge zur Verfügung, die Sie bei der Konguration und Bedienung des Gerätes unterstützen.

Kongurationswerkzeug

Sie haben die Möglichkeit, die gesamte Konguration des Gerätes in einer Kongurationsdatei zu speichern.

Gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

Klicken Sie auf der Startseite auf die Schaltäche „Werkzeuge“  und wählen Sie dann „Kongurationswerkzeug“ im Menü links.

Klicken Sie auf die Schaltäche „Speichern“.  Wählen Sie den Zielordner aus.  Legen Sie einen Dateinamen fest, der es ermöglicht die Datei 

eindeutig zu identizieren. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltäche „Speichern“, um die Einstellun- 

gen zu sichern.

Möchten Sie zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt die gesicherten Einstellungen wiederherstellen:

Klicken Sie auf die Schaltäche „Durchsuchen“ und wählen  danach die gewünschte Kongurationsdatei aus.

Klicken Sie auf die Schaltäche „Upload“, um die Datei zu laden. 

Das Gerät benötigt nun einige Sekunden, die Datei zu laden und danach einen Neustart durchzuführen. Nach dem Neustart ist die ausgewählte Konguration gültig.

Firmware-Aktualisierung

Klicken Sie auf der Startseite auf die Schaltäche „Werkzeuge“  und wählen Sie dann „Firmware Upgrade“ im Menü links.

Klicken Sie auf die Schaltäche „Weiter“. 

Geben Sie den Pfad und den Dateinamen der Firmwaredatei  (.bin) an.

HINWEIS

Über die Schaltäche „Durchsuchen...“ kann nach der entspre- ► chenden Datei gesucht werden.

ACHTUNG

Eine fehlerhafte Bedienung während der Firmware-Aktualisierung kann das Gerät unbrauchbar machen!

Beachten Sie die folgenden Hinweise, um das Gerät während der Firmwareaktualisierung nicht unbrauchbar zu machen.

Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Firmwaredateien zum Gerät passen. ► Wenden Sie sich bei Unklarheit an die Hama-Produktberatung.

Stellen Sie vor Beginn der Aktualisierung eine Verbindung über ► Netzwerkkabel mit dem Gerät her wenn die Gefahr besteht, dass die WLAN-Verbindung während der Datenübertragung verloren gehen kann.

Während der Aktualisierung darf das Gerät nicht vom Stromnetz ► getrennt werden.

Prüfen Sie die Dateiangaben nochmals und starten Sie die Aktu-  alisierung über die Schaltäche „Anwenden“.

Danach werden Sie aufgefordert das Upgrade zu bestätigen. 

Nach erfolgter Aktualisierung führt das Gerät einen Neustart durch.

HINWEIS

Durch das Laden der neuen Firmware gehen vorher getroffene ► Einstellungen verloren.

Neustart des Gerätes

Klicken Sie auf der Startseite auf die Schaltäche „Werkzeuge“  und wählen Sie dann „Zurücksetzen“ im Menü links.

Lösen Sie den Neustart über die Schaltäche „Anwenden“ aus.  Bestätigen Sie den folgenden Hinweis mit „OK“. 

Das Gerät wird neu gestartet.

HINWEIS

Ihre getroffenen Einstellungen bleiben dabei erhalten. ►

Werkseitige Voreinstellungen wiederherstellen

Sie können die werkseitigen Voreinstellungen wiederherstellen wodurch der Benutzername wieder auf „admin“, das Kennwort auf „1234“ und die IP-Adresse wieder auf „192168.2.1“ zurückgesetzt werden.

HINWEIS

Bei diesem Verfahren werden alle aktuellen Kongurationsein- ► stellungen gelöscht und die werkseitigen Einstellungen wiederhergestellt..

Gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

Drücken Sie die Reset/WPS-Taste 

auf der Rückseite des

Gerätes für 10 Sekunden bis die POWER-LED

zu blinken

beginnt.

Das Gerät wird nun auf die werkseitigen Einstellungen zurückgesetzt, so dass Sie unter Verwendung dieser Einstellungen über Ihren Webbrowser auf das Gerät zugreifen können.

Klicken Sie auf der Startseite auf die Schaltäche „Status“. 

Im Menü auf der linken Seite können Sie sich in verschiedenen Untermenüs Informationen, wie zum Beispiel Internetstatus, Gerätestatus oder Aktive DHCP-Clients anzeigen lassen. Unter dem Menüpunkt Statistik ist ein Paketzähler verfügbar.

Bevor Sie das Gerät an den Kundendienst einschicken, überprüfen Sie anhand der folgenden Tabelle, ob Sie den Fehler selbst beseitigen können.

Stellen Sie sicher, dass das RJ45-Netzwerkkabel richtig angeschlossen ist.

IP-Adresse falsch.

Stellen Sie sicher, dass die eingestellte IP-Adresse zum Adressraum Ihres Netzwerkes passt.

Subnetzmaske falsch.

Stellen Sie sicher, dass die eingestellte Subnetzmaske zum Adressraum Ihres Netzwerkes passt.

Firewall-Software ist aktiviert.

Deaktivieren Sie für die Konguration die Firewall.

Verändern Sie den Standort und die Ausrichtung des Gerätes.

WLAN-Kanal ist ungünstig.

Wechseln Sie den Kanal bei Störungen.

Hochfrequenzstrahlung stört.

Schirmen Sie Geräte die durch Hochfrequenzstrahlung stören ab oder stellen Sie sie woanders auf.

Passwort verges-

Connections for WLAN antennae:

For connection of the WLAN antennae contained in the scope of supply. They allows devices such as PCs, notebooks or PDAs to make wireless contact with the device.

Radio ON/OFF:

For switching off the WLAN function (e.g. over night). Cablebound LAN interfaces are not affected.

Reset/WPS:

The Reset/WPS button has two functions:

Holding the button depressed (10 seconds) resets the ■ device to the works default settings.

Pressing briey allows devices to be added to an existing ■ network.

LAN jacks 1-4:

For connection of devices such as PC or notebook via LAN cable.

WAN port:

For connection to a broadband modem or other router.

12 VDC jack:

For connection of the mains adapter.

Safety precautions

DANGER

Personal injuries and property damage may occur when starting up the device!

Observe the following safety precautions to avoid the dangers:

Packaging materials must not be used as toys. Risk of suffoca- ► tion.

Observe the information on the demands on the installation lo- ► cation and on the electrical connection of the appliance to avoid personal injury and material damage.

Unpacking

Remove all parts of the device and the instruction manual from  the box.

Remove all packing materials from the device before using for  the rst time.

Scope of supply and transport inspection

The device is supplied as standard with the following components:

Disposal of the packaging

The packaging protects the device from transport damage. The packaging materials have been selected according to environmental and waste disposal aspects and can therefore be recycled.

Returning the packaging to the material cycle saves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste generated. When no longer required, dispose of the packaging materials in accordance with the local regulations.

NOTE

If possible, keep the original packaging during the warranty pe- ► riod in order to be able to pack the device properly in the event of a warranty claim.

Installing the WLAN antennae

Proceed as follows to install the WLAN antennae:

Screw the screw connectors of the WLAN antennae onto the  antenna terminals

on the rear side of the device.

NOTE

Do not tilt the WLAN antenna when tting it to the screw ► connection. The thread could be damaged.

The WLAN antenna is completely screwed-in after 4 com- ► plete turns.

Push the WLAN antennae 90° to an upright position and align by  turning them clockwise.

Preconditions for operation

The following preconditions must be satised for installation and operation of the device:

The TCP/IP protocol must be installed on all PCs. ■ The web browser must support JavaScript (e.g. Mozilla Firefox or ■

Microsoft Internet Explorer). An Internet account with an Internet service provider and a DSL ■

connection are necessary for Internet access. All devices employed must comply with the standards IEEE ■

802.11g, IEEE 802.11b or the draft IEEE 802.11n.

Demands on the installation location

For safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the installation location has to satisfy the following requirements:

Install the device in a ■ central location where there are the least possible obstacles between the device and the PCs.

Do not install the device in the vicinity of metallic objects and ■ other electrical or radiating devices.

NOTE

Try to eliminate the interference sources, such as DECT ► telephones, mobile phones, bluetooth devices or other WLAN networks.

If this is not possible, a change of channel can also remedy ►

the problem. Do not expose the device to direct sunlight. ■ The mains socket must be easily accessible so that the mains ■

adapter can be quickly unplugged in the event of an emergency.

Connection of the LAN-cables

Connect the computer and other network devices, such as hub/  switch, to the LAN jacks 1-4 using the network cable supplied. The integral switch automatically detects the transmission rate of 10 or 100 Mbps, half/full duplex transmission mode and the cable type used.

Connection of the WAN cable

Connect the Ethernet port of your modem to the WAN port 

Electrical connection

For safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the following instructions have to be observed for the electrical connection:

The device is supplied with a 12 Volt DC voltage via the mains ■ adapter supplied. Always use the mains adapter supplied to connect the device to the mains supply.

Before connecting the device, compare the connection data (volt- ■ age and frequency) on the rating plate with those of your mains adapter. These data must correspond in order to avoid damage to the device.

Protect the adapter cable from hot surfaces and sharp edges. ■ Make sure that the adapter cable is not too taut or kinked. ■ Do not allow the adapter cable to hang over edges (trip wire ef- ■

fect). If the device is not to be used for a longer period of time, discon- ■

nect the mains adapter from the mains supply.

Connecting the mains adapter

Connect the plug of the mains adapter to the 12 VDC jack 

the device. Insert the mains adapter into the mains socket. 

Checking the installation

The Power LED should come on. ■ A LAN LED should come on for each LAN (PC) connection (pro- ■

vided the PC is switched on). The WLAN LED should come on when WLAN clients are con- ■

nected. The WAN LED should come on when the modem is switched on. ■

Conguring the IP address

The IP address 192.168.2.1 and an activated DHCP server are precongured for the device as standard. This ensures that the interfaced PCs are automatically assigned appropriate addresses and further settings. We recommend that this setting is retained.

Proceed as follows to check the settings on your PC:

Select  Start -> Control panel -> Network connections

Select your LAN network connection. 

Starting the conguration interface

The device is congured using a web browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc.).

Proceed as follows:

Boot your PC after installing the device in your LAN. If your PC is  already switched on, carry out a restart.

Start your web browser.  Enter "  http://192.168.2.1" in the address line.

After calling up the conguration interface of the device, the login window rst appears in the web browser.

Enter  admin in the eld "User name". Enter  1234 in the eld "Password". After the input, click "OK" to log in to the device. 

Conguration of the Internet connection

You can use the integrated assistant to congure the device quickly.

To start the conguration assistant, click the button "Quick setup"  on the home page.

Time zone

Select the correct time zone. e.g. for Germany "(GMT +01:00)  Amsterdam, Berlin, Bern, Rome, Stockholm, Vienna". The remaining settings can be accepted unchanged.

Click the button "Next" to proceed. 

Your IP address is assigned automatically on establishment of the connection to your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

Fixed-IP DSL Your ISP assigns you a xed IP address.

PPTP DSL

Connection to the ISP only when required. The IP address is generally assigned automatically, but it can also be static (permanent). Your ISP assigns you a local IP, a remote IP and a connection ID.

In the next mask, enter the access data for your Internet provider. This information can be either found in your documentation or obtained directly from the provider. In view of the widespread use of DSL over PPPoE, the rest of this description relates to this type of connection.

NOTE

With volume or time tariffs we recommend selecting "Connec- ► tion on demand" so that the Internet connection is automatically disconnected after the set "idle time". With a permanent connection, high connection costs can otherwise be incurred.

Note also, however, that closing the browser does not necessar- ► ily mean disconnection from the Internet. A very large number of programs send requests to the Internet or receive data from there without this being clearly recognisable. This is an equivalent request for the device as, for example, the opening of the browser. If you wish to ensure that there is no active connection to the Internet, you should switch off the device or disconnect it from the modem.

WDS (Wireless Distribution System) is the term for the wireless connection between several access points. In addition, it permits the login of clients that other bridge operating modes do not allow. For each additional access point, the bandwidth of the network is halved because the packages have to be transmitted double.

Setting of the wireless LAN encryption

A distinction must be made between the following terms:

Authentication: ■ Is a process during which the identity, for example of a person, is determined by means of a particular feature. This can be, for example, by means of a nger print, a password or some other proof of authorisation.

Encryption: ■ Is a process during which a "plaint text" is transformed into a "secret text" by means of an encryption routine (algorithm). One or more codes can be used for this. Each individual encryption method offers one or more possibilities for authentication.

NOTE

The encryption is deactivated as standard. We recommend, ► however, that an encryption is always used for security reasons.

In addition to WPA, the device also supports the older method WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy). WEP is only necessary if not all the client computers in the wireless LAN can use the WPA method.

NOTE

Note that the WEP method is no longer considered secure ► today. It cannot be ruled out that data encrypted with WEP could be read and manipulated by unauthorised third parties. We therefore urgently recommend that WEP is avoided and that only the secure WPA method is used for encryption.

Automatic WPS conguration

WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) is a function that simplies the security conguration of the wireless LAN connection.

NOTE

In order to be able to use the function, the router/access point ► and the remote station (WLAN USB stick, PCI card or PCMCIA card) must have the WPS function.

There are two ways of performing the security conguration:

Conguration with button ■ Conguration with pin code ■

Conguration with button

Press the Reset/WPS button 

on the device.

Within 2 minutes, click button "PBC" under tab "WPS" in the  conguration program of the WLAN adapter.

Conguration with pin code

Note the pin code displayed in the conguration program of the  WLAN adapter.

Select the target network in the upper list and then click button  "PIN".

Switch to the user interface of the device and select  Setup →

Wireless→ WPS.

Enter the noted code in the input eld for the pin code and click  "Start PIN" to start the transmission. The connection is now set up automatically.

After successful connection, a prole is created that automatically sets up the connection again after a restart.

Assigning a new password

Assign a new password fro access to the device to prevent access to the conguration menu for unauthorised persons. Proceed as follows:

On the home page, click the button "General Setup" and then  select "System" followed by "Password Settings" in the menu on the left.

New password Enter a random new password here.

Conrm password

Enter the new password again as conrmation.

Tools

The device provides you with various tools to support you in the conguration and operation of the device.

Conguration tool

You can save the whole conguration of the device in a conguration le.

Proceed as follows:

On the home page, click the button "Tools" and then select "Con-  guration tools" in the menu on the left.

Click the button "Save".  Select the target directory.  Choose a le name that allows the le to be unambiguously iden- 

tied. Click the button "Save" to save the settings. 

If you wish to restore the saved settings at a later date:

Click the button "Search" and then select the desired congura-  tion le.

Click the button "Upload" to upload the le. 

The device now takes a few seconds to upload the le and to then carry out a new start. After the restart, the selected conguration is immediately valid.

Firmware update

On the home page, click the button "Tools" and then select  "Firmware upgrade" in the menu on the left.

Click the button "Next". 

Enter the path and le name (.bin) of the rmware le. 

NOTE

Click "Search..." to search for the corresponding le. ►

CAUTION

An operating error during the rmware update can make the

device unserviceable!

Please observe the following notes to avoid making the device unserviceable during a rmware update.

Ensure that the rmware le matches the device. If in doubt, ► consult the Hama product support.

Before beginning a rmware update, establish a connection to ► the device via a network cable if there is danger of loss of the WLAN connection during the data transmission.

The device must not be disconnected from the mains supply ► during updating.

Check the le details again and start the update by pressing the  "Apply" button.

You will then be prompted to conrm the update. 

After successful updating, the device performs a restart.

NOTE

All previously made settings are lost when the new rmware is ► uploaded.

Restarting the device

On the home page, click the button "Tools" and then select "Re-  set" in the menu on the left.

Click the "Apply" button to start the restart.  Conrm the following prompt with "OK". 

Restoring works default settings

You can restore the works default settings so that the user name is reset to "admin", the password to "1234" and the IP address to "192168.2.1".

NOTE

With this method, all current conguration settings are deleted ► and the works default settings are restored.

Proceed as follows:

Hold the Reset/WPS button 

on the rear side of the device de-

pressed for 10 seconds until the POWER-LED

starts to ash.

The device is now reset to the works default settings so that you can access the device using this settings via your web browser.

Si une réparation doit être effectuée durant la période de garantie, ■ celle-ci doit être entreprise uniquement par un service clients agréé par le fabricant. Dans le cas contraire et en cas de dommages ultérieurs, la garantie ne sera plus valable.

Remplacer les composants défectueux uniquement par des pièces ■ de rechange d‘origine. Le respect des exigences de sécurité est uniquement garanti avec ces pièces.

Protégez l'appareil contre l'humidité et la pénétration de liquides. ■ En cas de contact avec des liquides, débranchez immédiatement l'appareil de l'alimentation en tension.

N'opérez l'appareil jamais dans un environnement très poussié- ■ rieux ou à proximité de sources de chaleur.

N'exploitez l'appareil qu'avec les antennes WLAN visées dessus, ■ Nettoyez le boîtier de l'appareil avec un chiffon légèrement humide. ■

Face arrière de l'appareil

Raccordemnt pour les antennes WLAN:

Pour le raccordement des antennes WLAN comprises dans la fourniture. Il permettent à des terminaux tels que PCs, notebooks ou PDAs d'établir un contact radio sans l avec l'appareil.

Radio ON/OFF:

Pour couper la fonction WLAN (p.ex. pendant la nuit). Les interfaces LAN reliés par câbles n'en sont pas concernés.

Reset/WPS::

La touche Reset/WPS a deux fonctions:

En appuyant longtemps (10 secondes) sur cette touche, ■ l'appareil est réinitialisé aux réglages par défaut.

En appuyant brièvement sur cette touche, on peut ajouté ■ des appareils au réseau existant.

Ports LAN 1-4:

Pour la connexion de terminaux comme p.ex. des ordinateurs ou notebooks par câble LAN.

Port WAN

Pour une connexion à mode large bande ou un autre routeur.

Déballage

Sortez du carton toutes les pièces de l'appareil et la notice d'utili-  sation.

Avant la première utilisation, retirez tout l’emballage de l‘appareil 

Etendue de la livraison et inspection suite au transport

En version standard, l'appareil est livré avec les composants suivants :

Elimination de l'emballage

L'emballage protège l'appareil contre les dommages dûs au transport. Les matériaux d'emballage sont sélectionnés selon des aspects écologiques et techniques d'élimination, c'est pourquoi ils sont recyclables.

La remise en circulation de l'emballage dans le circuit de matériel économise des matières premières et réduit la production de déchets. Eliminez les matériaux d'emballage non nécessités conformément aux directives locales en vigueur.co

INDICATION

Si possible, conservez l'emballage original pendant la période ► de garantie de l'appareil an de pouvoir l'emballer de manière conforme en cas de garantie.

Montage des antennes WLAN

Pour monter les antennes WLAN, procédez comme suit:

Vissez les raccords à vis des antennes WLAN sur les raccords  d'antenne

sur la face arrière de l'appareil.

INDICATION

Ne pas bloquer le raccord leté de l‘antenne WLAN. Le ► letage pourrait être endommagé.

Après environ 4 tours, l’antenne WLAN est entièrement ► vissée.

Basculez l’antenne WLAN de 90° et dirigez-la vers le haut en  tournant dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre.

Conditions requises pour le fonctionnement

Pour l'installation et pour le fonctionnement de l'appareil, les conditions requises suivantes doivent être remplies :

Le protocole TCP/IP doit être installé sur tous les ordinateurs PC. ■ Le navigateur doit supporter Javascript (p.ex. Mozilla Firefox ou ■

Microsoft Internet Explorer). Pour accéder à l'Internet, il vous faut un compte Internet ouvert ■

auprès d'un fournisseur de services Internet et une connexion

DSL.

Tous les appareils utilisés doivent être conformes aux standards ■ IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11b ou au projet 802.11n.

Conditions requises sur le lieu de montage

An que l'appareil fonctionne de manière sûre et sans défaut, le lieu de montage doit remplir les conditions préalables suivantes :

Installez l'appareil à ■ un lieu central sur lequel se trouvent aussi peu d'obstacles que possibles entre l'appareil et les PCs.

N'installez pas l'appareil à proximité d'objets métalliques ou ■ d'autres appareils électriques ou rayonnants.

INDICATION

Essayez d'éliminer des sources de dérangements telles que ► téléphones DECT, portables, appareils bluetooth ou autres réseaux WLAN.

Si ceci n'est pas possible, essayez d'y remédier par un chan- ►

gement de canal. N'exposez pas l'appareil à l'ensoleillement direct. ■ La prise doit être facilement accessible de manière à pouvoir dé- ■

brancher rapidement le bloc secteur en cas d'urgence.

Branchement des câbles LAN

Connectez les ordinateurs et les autres appareils de réseau  tels que concentrateur/commutateur aux ports 1 à 4. A cet effet, utilisez le câble résau compris dans la fourniture. Le commutateur intégré détecte automatiquement la vitesse de la connexion de 10 ou 100 Mbps, le mode de transfert half/full duplex ainsi que le type de câble utilisé.

Branchement du câble WAN

Connectez le port ethernet de votre modem au port « WAN » 

de l'appareil. Utilisez le câble fourni avec votre modem. Si votre modem a été livré sans câble, utilisez un câble de type commercial.
