Sicherheitshinweise:

• Achten Sie darauf, dass statische Elektrizität sowohl die Karte als auch Ihren Computer beschädigen kann.

• Entladen Sie sich durch Berühren eines metallischen Gegenstandes.

• Bitte verwenden Sie das Produkt weder in der Nähe von Heizungen noch in staubiger oder feuchter Umgebung.

Hardware Installation:

Um die Karte zu installieren, müssen Sie Ihren Computer öffnen. Achten Sie daher unbedingt darauf, dass Sie Ihren Computer vorher vom Stromnetz getrennt haben. Sollten Sie mit dem internen Aufbau Ihres Computers nicht so sehr vertraut sein, lesen Sie bitte im Handbuch Ihres Computers nach oder fragen Sie einen Fachmann.

• Schalten Sie alle angeschlossenen Geräte und Ihren Computer ab.

• Stecken Sie den PC aus, bevor Sie mit der Installation beginnen.

• Öffnen Sie die Abdeckung Ihres Computers.

• Halten Sie die PCI Karte an den Ecken der Platine und stecken Sie diese in den freien PCI- Einsteckplatz. Hinweis: Achten Sie darauf, dass statische Elektrizität sowohl die PCI Karte als auch Ihren Computer beschädigen kann. Entladen Sie sich durch Berühren eines metallischen Gegenstandes.

• Suchen Sie einen freien PCI- Einsteckplatz.

• Entfernen Sie das Slotblech für diesen Steckplatz.Bewahren Sie die Schraube gut auf, Sie benötigen sie später zum Befestigen der PCI Karte.

• Drücken Sie die Karte nun vorsichtig in den Einsteckplatz bis der Haltewinkel auﬂ iegt und die vergoldeten Steckkontakte voll ständig im Steckplatz verschwunden sind.

• Befestigen Sie die Karte mit der zuvor entfernten Slot-, Blechschraube.

• Schließen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers und verbinden Sie ihn wieder mit der Spannungsversorgung.

•

Schalten Sie nun Ihren Rechner wieder ein.

Softwareinstallation: Installation unter Windows Vista 32bit

Editionen

Windows Vista beinhaltet bereits von Haus aus die entsprechenden Treiber, so dass eine separate Treiberinstallation nicht nötig ist. Nachdem die Karte in Ihrem Rechner eingebaut und Vista hochgefahren wurde, wird die Karte nach einer Weile automatisch erkannt und installiert.

Ob der Controller ordnungsgemäß installiert wurde, können Sie unter Start (Windows

Logo) -> Systemsteuerung -> System und Wartung -> Geräte-Manager nachsehen.

Unter Umständen werden Sie von der Benutzerkontensteuerung aufgefordert, dieser Aktion zuzustimmen. Klicken Sie deshalb auf die Schaltﬂ äche -> Fortsetzen. Folgende Einträge müssen ohne gelbe Ausrufezeichen vorhanden sein.

Installation unter Windows ME

Nachdem Windows ME komplett hochgefahren ist, erscheint der „Hardware-Assi-

stent“ und die Karte wird als „PCI Universal Serial Bus“ erkannt. Markieren Sie „Position des Treibers angeben (Erweitert)“ und

legen Sie die mitgelieferte Treiber-CD ein. Klicken Sie auf -> Weiter. Markieren Sie nur „Geben Sie eine Position an:“ und tippen Sie „D:\NEC\uPD720101“ ein ( wobei D: unter Umständen durch den Laufwerksbuchstaben Ihres CD-Laufwerkes ersetzt werden muss)

-> Weiter. Die Karte wird jetzt als „NEC USB Open Host Controller“ erkannt -> Weiter.

Windows ME überspielt nun die benötigten Dateien auf die Festplatte. Nach Fertigstellung der Treiberinstallation klicken Sie auf die Schaltﬂ äche -> Fertig stellen. Entfernen Sie nun die Treiber-CD-ROM aus Ihrem Laufwerk und bewahren Sie diese für den evtl. späteren Gebrauch sorgsam auf! Bevor Sie die Karte benutzen können, müssen Sie Ihren Computer neu Starten. Ob der Controller ordnungsgemäß installiert wurde, können Sie unter Start -> Einstel-

lungen -> Systemsteuerung -> System -> Hardware -> Geräte Manager nachsehen.

( Sie müssen gegebenenfalls auf „zeigen Sie alle Optionen der Systemsteuerung an“ klicken, um das „System“ Icon zu sehen). Dort müssen folgende Einträge ohne gelbes Ausrufezeichen vorhanden sein.

Nachdem Windows 98SE komplett hochgefahren ist, erscheint der „Hardware-Assi-

Mac OS X 10.3.x oder höher beinhaltet bereits von Haus aus die entsprechenden Treiber, so dass eine separate Treiberinstallation nicht nötig ist. Nachdem die Karte in Ihrem MAC eingebaut, und MAC OS X hochgefahren wurde, wird die Karte nach einer Weile automatisch erkannt und installiert.

Ob der Controller ordnungsgemäß installiert wurde, können Sie mittels dem Programm System Proﬁ ler herausﬁ nden. Dort sehen Sie unter der Rubrik USB nach, ob folgende Einträge vorhanden sind.

Safety instructions:

• Be aware that static electricity can damage both the card and your computer.

• Ground yourself by touching a metal object.

• Keep this device away from heaters and radiators, and free of dust or dampness when being operated.

Installing the hardware:

You must open your computer to install the card. Ensure that you have ﬁ rst disconnected your computer from the power supply. If you are not familiar with the internal setup of your computer, please consult your computer manual or ask a qualiﬁ ed technician.

• Switch off your computer and all connected devices.

• Unplug your PC before beginning installation.

• Open the case of the computer.

• Hold the PCI card by the edges of the printed circuit board and insert it into the free PCI slot. Note: Be aware that static electricity can damage both the PCI card and your computer. Ground yourself by touching a metal object.

• Select a free PCI slot.

• Remove the plate for this slot. Keep the screw – you will need it later to secure the PCI card.

• Carefully push the card into the slot until the holding bracket is lined up with the casing and the gold-plated contacts have disappeared into the slot.

• Secure the card using the slot cover plate screw you removed earlier.

• Close the case of your computer, and reconnect it to the power supply.

• Restart your computer

Installing the software: Installation on Windows Vista 32-bit editions

Because Windows Vista already includes the necessary drivers, you do not need to install any drivers separately. After you have inserted the card into your computer and restarted Vista, the computer recognizes and installs the card after a short time.

may be asked by User Access Control to approve this action. Click -> Continue. The following entries must appear without a yellow exclamation mark.

After Windows ME has completed startup, the Hardware Wizard is displayed and the card is recognised as a „PCI universal serial

bus“. Select „Specify the location of the driver (advanced)“ and insert the supplied

driver CD. Click -> Next.

Select „Specify a location“ and enter „D:\ NEC\uPD720101“. („D:“ indicates the initial of your CD drive and must be changed if necessary). -> Next. The card is now recognised as a „NEC USB open host controller“ -> Next. Windows ME then copies the necessary ﬁ les to your drive. After the drivers have been installed, click -> Finish. Now remove the driver CD-ROM from your drive and keep it in a safe place in case it is needed at a later date. You must restart your computer before you can use the card.

You can check whether the controller has been installed successfully under Start

-> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager. (You may need

to click „Display all control panel options“ to view the „System“ icon). The following must appear without a yellow exclamation mark.

Installation on Windows 98 Second Edition

After Windows 98SE has completed startup, the New Hardware Wizard is displayed and the card is recognised as a „PCI universal

serial bus“. Select „Specify the location of the driver (advanced)“ and insert the

supplied driver CD in your drive. Click -> Next. Select „Specify a location“ and enter „D:\

NEC\uPD720101“. (you may have to change „D:“ to the initial of your CD drive) -> Next. The card is now recognised as a „NEC USB open host controller“ -> Next. Windows 98SE

then copies the necessary ﬁ les to your drive.

• Notez que de l’électricité statique est susceptible d’endommager votre ordinateur et la carte.

• Déchargez-les en les touchant avec un objet métallique.

• N‘utilisez pas le produit à proximité de radiateurs ni dans des environnements excessivement poussiéreux ou humides.

Installation du matériel :

Vous devez ouvrir votre boîtier d’ordinateur aﬁ n d’installer la carte. Veillez donc impérativement à ce que votre ordinateur soit hors tension avant de commencer l’installation. Consultez le manuel de votre ordinateur ou un spécialiste si vous n’êtes pas bien familiarisé avec l‘architecture interne de votre ordinateur.

• Mettez l‘ordinateur et tous les périphériques connectés hors tension.

• Débranchez l’alimentation électrique de votre ordinateur avant de commencer l‘installation.

• Ouvrez le boîtier de votre ordinateur.

•

Tenez la carte PCI par les coins de la platine, puis insérez-la dans l’emplacement PCI. Remarque : Notez que de l’électricité statique est susceptible d’endommager votre ordinateur ainsi que la carte PCI. Déchargez-les en les touchant avec un objet métallique.

• Trouvez un emplacement PCI libre.

•

Retirez le cache de cet emplacement. Conservez soigneusement la vis dont vous

aurez besoin plus tard pour ﬁ xer la carte PCI.

• Appuyez délicatement sur la carte aﬁ n de l’introduire dans l’emplacement jusqu’à c que les encoches de ﬁ xation reposent dans la rainure et que les connecteurs

dorés aient complètement disparu dans l’emplacement.

• Fixez la carte à l’aide de la vis que vous venez de retirer.

• Fermez le boîtier de votre ordinateur et rebranchez-le à l‘alimentation électrique.

•

Remettez alors votre ordinateur sous tension.

Installation du logiciel : Installation sous Windows Vista Edition 32 bit

Le pilote nécessaire est intégré à Windows Vista ; une installation de pilote supplémentaire n’est donc pas nécessaire. La carte est automatiquement reconnue et installée après l’avoir montée dans votre ordinateur et après le démarrage de Vista.

Vous pouvez vériﬁ er si le contrôleur a été correctement installé en consultant

Démarrer (Windows Logo) -> Panneau de conﬁ guration -> Système et maintenance -> Gestionnaire de périphérique. Il est possible

que le contrôle de compte d'utilisateur vous demande l’autorisation de continuer la procédure. Cliquez sur le bouton -> Continuer. Les entrées suivantes doivent y être afﬁ chées sans point d’exclamation jaune :

Installation sous Windows Vista Edition 64bit

Vous pouvez vériﬁ er si le contrôleur a été correctement installé en consultant

Démarrer (Windows Logo) -> Panneau de conﬁ guration -> Système et maintenance -> Gestionnaire de périphérique. Il est possible

que le contrôle de compte d'utilisateur vous demande l’autorisation de continuer la procédure. Cliquez sur le bouton -> Con- tinuer. Les entrées suivantes doivent y être afﬁ chées sans point d’exclamation jaune :

Installation du pilote sous Windows XP avec Service Pack 2

Préparation :

Assurez-vous que votre compte utilisateur Windows XP dispose des droits d’administrateur, l‘installation du pilote ne pourrait sinon pas être réalisée. Le pilote nécessaire est intégré à Windows XP avec Service Pack 2 ; une installation de pilote supplémentaire n’est donc pas nécessaire. La carte est automatiquement reconnue et installée après l’avoir montée dans votre ordinateur et après le démarrage de Windows XP.

Vous pouvez vériﬁ er si le contrôleur a été correctement installé en consultant

Démarrer -> Panneau de conﬁ guration -> Performances et maintenance systéme -> Matériel -> Gestionnaire de périphérique.

Les entrées suivantes doivent y être afﬁ chées sans point d’exclamation jaune :

Installation du pilote sous Windows 2000 avec le Service 4

Préparation :

Assurez-vous que votre compte utilisateur Windows 2000 dispose des droits d’administrateur, sinon, il est possible que l‘installation du pilote ne puisse être réalisée.

Le pilote nécessaire est intégré à Windows 2000 avec Service Pack 4 ; une installation de pilote supplémentaire n’est donc pas nécessaire. La carte est automatiquement reconnue et installée après l’avoir montée dans votre ordinateur et après le démarrage de Windows 2000.

-> Système -> Matériel -> Gestionnaire de périphérique.

Installation sous Windows ME

Après le démarrage du système Windows ME, l’ajout de nouveau matériel détecte automatiquement la carte comme « PCI

Universal Serial Bus ». Sélectionnez Spéciﬁ er l’emplacement du pilote (avancé),

puis insérez le CD pilote fourni. Cliquez sur -> Suivant. Ne cochez que „Spéciﬁ er

l’emplacement du pilote“ puis saisissez „D:\Nec\uPD720100“ (D: peut être remplacée

par la lettre correspondant à votre lecteur de CD-ROM) -> Suivant. La carte réseau est identiﬁ ée comme „NEC USB Open Host Controller“ -> Suivant. Windows ME copie maintenant les ﬁ chiers nécessaires sur le disque dur. Cliquez ﬁ nalement sur -> Terminer aﬁ n de quitter la procédure d‘installation du pilote. Retirez le CD pilote de votre lecteur et conservez-le soigneusement pour toute utilisation ultérieure. Vous devez redémarrer votre ordinateur avant de pouvoir utiliser la carte.
