Ob der Controller ordnungsgemäß installiert wurde, können Sie unter Start ➩ Einstellungen ➩ Systemsteuerung ➩ System ➩ Geräte-Manager nachsehen (Sie müssen hierzu gegebenenfalls auf "zeigen Sie alle Optionen der Systemsteuerung an" klicken um das "System" - Icon zu sehen). Dort müssen folgende Einträge ohne gelbe Ausrufezeichen vorhanden sein:

Bevor Sie die PC Card in ihr Notebook einstecken, installieren Sie bitte den Treiber von der beiliegenden CD. Bitte starten Sie ihren Rechner nochmals neu.

Nach Einstecken der Karte erscheint die Meldung „Neue Hardwarekomponente gefunden“. Dabei wird der Controller als „ALI PCI/USB Open Host Controller“ identifiziert. Klicken Sie dann auf ➩ Weiter. Markieren Sie in der folgenden Maske („Wie möchten Sie vorgehen“?) „Nach dem besten Treiber für das Gerät suchen (empfohlen)“ und klicken Sie dann auf ➩ Weiter ➩ Aktualisierten Treiber (empfohlen) ➩ Weiter ➩ Weiter. Wenn Sie dazu aufgefordert werden, legen Sie die Windows

98-CD ein und klicken danach auf „OK“. (evtl. müssen Sie anschließend den Laufwerks-buchstaben für Ihr CD-ROM Laufwerk eingeben). Windows®98 lädt nun die benötigten Treiber von der CD. Klicken Sie danach auf ➩ Fertigstellen. Jetzt erscheint noch einmal der Hardware-Assistent und erkennt den zweiten „ALI USB Open Host Controller“. Wiederholen Sie nun die oben beschriebene Vorgehensweise. Danach wird als neue Hardwarekomponente ein „PCI Universal Serial Bus“ erkannt. Klicken Sie auf ➩ Weiter ➩ Nach dem besten Treiber für das Gerät suchen ➩ Weiter. Sehen Sie die

Meldung „Es wurde ein aktualisierter Treiber und einige andere Treiber für das Gerät gefunden“, klicken Sie auf ➩ Aktualisierten Treiber ➩ Weiter ➩ Weiter ➩ Fertigstellen.

Jetzt erscheint noch einmal der Hardware-Assistent und erkennt den dritten „ALI USB Open Host Controller“. Wiederholen Sie nun die oben beschriebene Vorgehensweise. Danach wird als neue Hardware-Komponente ein „PCI Universal Serial Bus“ erkannt. Klicken Sie auf ➩ Weiter ➩ Nach dem besten Treiber für das Gerät suchen ➩ Weiter. Sehen Sie die Meldung „Es wurde ein aktualisierter Treiber und einige andere Treiber für das Gerät gefunden“, klicken Sie auf ➩ Aktualisierten Treiber ➩ Weiter ➩ Weiter ➩ Fertigstellen.

Danach wird die Schnittstellenkarte als „PCI FireWire (IEEE 1394)” identifiziert. Kurz danach öffnet sich der Hardware-Assistent und sucht nach neuen Treibern für „PCI OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller”. Klicken Sie auf ➩ Weiter. Wählen Sie in der folgenden Maske („Wie möchten Sie vorgehen?“) „Nach dem besten Treiber für das Gerät suchen“ ➩ Weiter ➩ Weiter ➩ Weiter. Windows

kopiert nun die erforderlichen Treiberdateien. Wenn Sie dazu aufgefordert werden, legen Sie die Windows®98-CD ein und klicken danach auf „OK“. (evtl. müssen Sie anschließend den Laufwerksbuchstaben für Ihr CD-ROM Laufwerk eingeben). Klicken Sie anschließend auf ➩ Fertigstellen.

98SE:

Ob die Combo Karte ordnungsgemäß installiert wurde, können Sie unter Start ➩ Systemsteuerung ➩ System ➩ Hardware ➩ Geräte-Manager nachsehen (Bei manchen Systemen müssen Sie hierzu auf „Zur klassischen Ansicht wechseln“ klicken um das „System“ Icon zu sehen). Dort müssen folgende Einträge ohne gelbe Ausrufezeichen vorhanden sein:

Wichtige Hinweise zur Stromversorgungsbuchse:

Die PC Card stellt angeschlossenen Geräten Strom zur Verfügung. Der maximale Strom ist abhängig vom verwendeten Notebook. Funktionieren Geräte mit hohem Strombedarf nicht richtig, empfiehlt sich der Einsatz eines externen Netzgerätes.

Bitte beachten Sie:

Nur Schaltnetzteile mit folgenden Spezifikationen verwenden (wir empfehlen Hama Art.Nr. 46601):

• Spannung 12V DC, Belastbarkeit mindestens 1500 mA

• Polarität: außen Minus (-) und innen Plus (+)

Verbinden Sie das Netzteil mit der Steckdose und dann mit der PC Card bevor Sie die Karte am Computer einstecken.

Vorsicht: Bei Missachtung kann es zu Beschädigungen kommen!

Softwareinstallation Windows

XP Home / Professional

Bevor Sie die PC Card in ihr Notebook einstecken, installieren Sie bitte den Treiber von der beiliegenden CD. Bitte starten Sie ihren Rechner nochmals neu. Stecken Sie danach die PC Card in den entsprechenden Slot. Der „Assistent für das Suchen neuer Hardware“ identifiziert den Controller als „ALI PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller“ und „IEEE 1394 Host Controller“. Markieren Sie „Software automatisch installieren (empfohlen)“ ➩ Weiter. Falls nun die Meldung erscheint "Die Software, die für diese Hardware installiert wird: ALI PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller bzw. IEEE 1394 Host Controller hat den Windows

-Logo-Test nicht bestanden, der die Kompatibilität mit Windows®XP

überprüft. ...“ klicken Sie auf „Installation fortsetzen“.

Windows®kopiert jetzt die benötigten Dateien von der CD. Klicken Sie anschließend auf ➩ Fertig stellen.

Install the driver from the enclosed CD before inserting the PC card in your laptop. Restart your computer.

After you have inserted the card, the message “New Hardware Found” appears. The controller is identified as an ALI PCI/USB Open Host Controller. Then click

➩ Next. In the next screen (“What do you

want Windows to do?”) select “Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended) and click

Next ➩ Update Driver (Recommended)” ➩ Next ➩ Next. When prompted to do so, place the Windows 98 CD in the drive and click OK (you may need to enter the letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive). Windows

98 then loads the required drivers from the

CD. Click

➩ Finish. The Hardware Wizard appears

again and detects the second ALI USB Open Host Controller. Repeat the above procedure. Next, “PCI Universal Serial Bus” is detected as new hardware. Click

has found an updated driver for this device and some other drivers that should work with this device appears, click

Next, the interface card is detected as PCI FireWire (IEEE 1394). Then the Hardware Wizard starts and searches for new drivers for PCI OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller. Click

Next. Windows®then copies the required driver files. When prompted to do so, place the Windows

Important instructions for the power supply connection:

The PC Card supplies power to connected devices. The maximum current available depends on the laptop used. If devices that consume a large amount of electricity do not function properly, it is a good idea to use an external power supply unit.

Please note:

Use only switching power supply units with the following specifications (we recommend Hama item no. 46601):

• 12V DC current, at least 1500mA capacity

• Poles: outer negative (-) and inner positive (+)

Plug in the power supply unit and then connect it to the PC card before inserting the card in the computer.

Caution: Failure to observe this warning can cause damage!

Installing the software Windows

XP Home/Professional

Install the driver from the enclosed CD before inserting the PC card in your laptop. Restart your computer. Insert the PC card in the appropriate slot. The Found New Hardware Wizard recognizes the controller as ALI PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller and IEEE 1394 Host Controller. Select Install the software automatically (recommended)

➩ Next.

If the message “The software you are installing for this hardware: ALI PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller or IEEE 1394 Host Controller has not passed Windows

Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows®XP. appears...”, click “Continue Anyway”. Windows®then copies the required files from the CD. Click

➩ Finish.

Veuillez installer le pilote fourni sur CD avant d’insérer la carte dans votre ordinateur portable. Redémarrez votre ordinateur après l'installation. Une fois la carte PC insérée dans l’emplacement correspondant, le masque „Nouveau matériel détecté“ s’affiche et la carte combo est installée en partie automatiquement. L’assistant „Ajout de nouveau matériel“ détecte le nouveau matériel „ALI PCI/USB Host Open Controller“. L’ordinateur devrait ensuite également détecter „PCI OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller“. Redémarrez votre système si tel n’est pas le cas. Vous pouvez ensuite commencer l’installation. Cochez „Rechercher le meilleur pilote pour la périphérie (conseillé)“

La carte d’interface est ensuite identifiée comme „PCI FireWire (IEEE 1394)“. L’assistant „Ajout de nouveau matériel“ est lancé peu après et recherche des nouveaux pilotes pour „PCI OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller“. Cliquez sur

Remarques importantes concernant l'alimentation électrique :

La carte PC veille à l’alimentation en électricité des appareils connectés. Le courant maximal dépend de l’ordinateur portable utilisé. Il est conseillé d’utiliser un bloc d’alimentation externe dans le cas où des ordinateurs à forte consommation ne fonctionneraient pas correctement.

Attention :

N’utilisez que des blocs commutateur secteur répondant aux spécifications suivantes (nous conseillons l’utilisation du bloc Hama, réf. 46601) :

• Alimentation : 12V DC, charge admissible minimale : 1500 mA

• Polarité : pôle négatif (-) à l’extérieur et pôle positif (+) à l’intérieur

Connectez le bloc d’alimentation à la prise de courant puis à la carte PC avant d’insérer la carte dans l’ordinateur.

Attention : Le non-respect de ces consignes peut provoquer des détériorations !

Installation du logiciel Windows

XP Home / Professional

Veuillez installer le pilote fourni sur CD avant d’insérer la carte dans votre ordinateur portable. Redémarrez votre ordinateur après l'installation. Vous pouvez ensuite insérer la carte dans l’emplacement prévu à cet effet. „L’Assistant pour la recherche d’une nouvelle périphérie“ identifie le contrôleur comme „ALI PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller“ et „IEEE 1394 Host Controller“. Cochez „Installation automatique du logiciel (conseillé)“

➩ Suivant.

Dans le cas où le message suivant „Le logiciel installé pour cette périphérie : ALI PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller ou IEEE 1394 Host Controller n’a pas satisfait aux tests Windows

Logo visant à assurer sa compatibilité avec Windows®XP ...“ apparaît, cliquez sur „Continuer l’installation“. Windows®copie alors les fichiers nécessaires à partir du CD. Cliquez finalement sur
