PERFORMANCE DA T A SHEET
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Read this Performance Data Sheet and compare the capabilities of this unit with your actual water treatment needs. It is recommended that, before purchasing a water treatment unit, you have your water supply tested to determine your actual water treatment needs.
NOTICE: Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected waters that may contain filterable cysts.
This water filter should be installed and used in compliance with any state or local laws and regulations.
CAUTION: Use on cold water line only . Do not allow inst alled filter to freeze.

Instructions For Installing Replacement Filters
1. Turn off water supply and dispense water to relieve water pressure.
2. Mount filter in a suitable location with water flow in direction indicated on filter. This filter is most effective when installed so that water flows through the filter in a downward direction. Do not support the filter using the inlet or outlet tubing. A plastic snap-in bracket, p/n 56190C, is available that can be screwed onto a flat surface.
3. Connect the cold water supply to the filter through a shut-off valve and 1/4" O.D. tubing (supplied by the installer). For ease of servicing, the shut-off valve should be located within easy reach of the filter.
Note: The inlet and outlet fittings supplied as a part of the filter are John Guest fittings that accept 1/4" O.D. tubing. They may be used with copper , stainless steel or semirigid nylon or polypropylene tubing with a rated working pressure equal or greater than encountered in application. Do not use soft braided tubing.
4. Caution: If supply pressure will ever exceed 125 psi, install a pressure regulator to limit the inlet pressure to the filter to 20 - 125 psi range.
To make connections to the filter, push tube end in the fittings past the o-ring to a positive stop - approximately 5/8". Ends of tubing must be cut square and free of burrs, sharp ends or scratches that could cut or nick the o-rings or cause a leak.
5. Turn water supply on and check fittings for leaks.
6. Dispense approximately 1 gallon of water to flush any particulate from the filter.
