GENERAL (HOUSING)

Injection-molded, reinforced polypropylene for
rust and corrosion resistance. Passes Water
Conditioning Foundation’s recommended
standards for hydrostatic leak and burst
pressures. 3/8˝ IPS inlet and outlet with manual
bleed valve on cap. Designed for easy
installation and fast cartridge changes.
Permanent screw on/off sump housing sealed
with Buna-N O-ring. Designed to accept all
standard 9-3/4˝ filter cartridges. IAPMO
approved.

Size - 11-1/2˝ H x 4-1/2˝ D.
Maximum operating temperature 125° F.
Maximum operating pressure 125 psi.
Flow rate - 1 GPM when new.
Warning: Housing must be protected from
freezing.

GENERAL (FILTER CARTRIDGE)

Standard 9-3/4˝ cartridge contains
approximately 12.5 ounces of granular
activated carbon. Sealed in a polypropylene
case with polyester filter screens at each end.
Designed so that the water entering the bottom
of the cartridge is filtered through the entire
length of activated carbon before exiting the
top. This maximum contact time effectively
removes chlorine and its taste and odor along
with most other taste/odor problems found in
water supplies. The polyester screen traps
most dirt and sediment.

Expected life of the cartridge under normal
conditions would be six months or when taste
and odor return (i.e., the return of the
unpleasant taste and/or odor to your water
signifies that the cartridge is expended and a
cartridge change is required).

Replacement cartridge 73-15263-51-550.
Can also use standard 9-3/4˝ replacement filters.

Caution: This cartridge filters chlorine and its
taste and odor only and will not remove
bacteria, purify water or render unsafe water fit
to drink.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

The filter housing should be installed on the
inlet water line going into the cooler. To aid in
installation a universal mounting bracket is
listed on this page. A water shutoff valve should
be installed on the incoming water line to aid in
filter changing. Can be installed on all units if
placed on outside of unit on waterline.

Designed for use on SCWT units.
WARNING:

The granular activated carbon cartridge will
contain a very small amount of carbon fines
(very fine black powder) and a new cartridge
after installation should be flushed with suffi­cient water to remove all traces of fines from
your water system before using the water.

Each time you use water from your filtered
water tap for drinking or cooking purposes, it is
recommended that you run (flush) the tap for at
least 10 seconds prior to using water. This is
particularly important if the water tap has not
been used daily.
