IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed
including the following:
READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. To reduce the risk of elec trica l shock, turn off power supply before
install ation o r servicing.
2. This lumi naire m ust be installed in accor dance w ith the NEC or your
local ele ctric al code. If you are not famil iar wit h these codes and
require ments , consult a qualified elec trici an.
3. Risk of fire or electri c shock . Install this kit only in th e luminaires that
have the constru ction features and dime nsion s shown in the
photogr aphs an d/or drawings.
4. To preve nt wiring damage or abras ion, do n ot expose wiring t o edges
of sheet metal or ot her sharp objects.
5. The re cessed luminaire is int ended f or mounting only i n a cover ed
ceiling w here on ly the led side of the lumina ire wil l be exposed to
dry , damp or wet loca tions.
RETROFIT INSTALLATION
STEP 1:
Make sure t he POWE R IS TURNED OFF at t he
source to t he rece ssed housing in which you a re
install ing the p roduct.

STEP 2(Fig 1) :
If existi ng lamp a nd trim are present, remo ve from
ceiling o r move it o ut of the way as it will not be
needed du ring in stallation. Measure t he ceil ing
opening t o make su re the edge of the luminair e
will cove r the ent ire hole and still sit firml y in the
ceiling b efore p roceeding.

STEP 3 :(Fig2)
Attach th e carab iner safety clip to the exi sting
fixture ho using .
STEP :4 (Fig3/Fig7)
Remove junction box faceplate. Disconnect all
wires to the ballast and remove ballast from
J-Box. Remove appropriate round knock out
and attach the fixture conduit whip into knock
out. Connect incoming power (White to White,
Black to Black, Green to Green/Ground).
For 0-10V dimming circuits, connect Gray to
Gray and Purple to Purple. Reattach J-Box
faceplate.
STEP (Fig 4):5
Adjust th e fixtur e power to desired lumen ou tput by
sliding t he sele ctor switch. Adjus t the color
tempera ture to d esired one, by sliding th e other
selecto r switc h. Make sure the switch is ne ver in
between p ositi ons.

Squeeze t he two sp ring clips so they are in an
upright p ositi on and insert lamp into hou sing.

Once fixtu re is ins ide the housing, releas e the
spring cl ips and c ontinue pushing fixtur e until
securel y fixed an d flush with ceiling.

NEW CONSTRUCTION INSTALLATION

ceiling f ollow ing its own installatio n instr uction.

STEP 3 :(Fig2)
If a new hole i s neede d, use a hole cutter, and set

the diame ter to 6- 5/32” (156mm) for the D84 6,
8” (203mm ) for the D 848 or cut along the edge of
the new con struc tion plate prepared for t he desi red
size .
STEP :4 (Fig3/Fig7)
Attach the carabiner safety clip to a secure place
inside the ceiling. Insert lamp conduit into a
preinstalled J-box (not provided) and wire to
the power source (black to hot, white to neutral,
green to ground). For 0-10V dimming circuits,
connect gray to gray and purple to purple. Close
the J-box securely
