Suggestions for Best Results
- Always preheat before use.
- For soft or liquid sandwich llings use medium slice of bread, white or brown. If small amounts of lling, use toasted bread.
- Flavoured butter may also be used.
- For added avour use bacon dripping, brush the dripping on the outside surface of the bread.
- Suggested garnishes for savory sandwiches, lettuce, mint, cress, stued olive halves onion, tomato, etc.
- A teaspoon of sugar sprinkled on the outside surface of bread makes the sandwich crisper (especially with fruit llings).
Bread
- Most types of bread can be used: white, wholemeal, kibbled wheat, whole grain, raisin bread, etc, as well as focaccia and Turkish bread. Raisin bread, brioche or other sweet breads which contain a high sugar content will tend to brown quicker. Due to the non-stick coated cooking plates, it is not necessary to use any butter or margarine on the outside of your toasted snacks.
Fillings
- If using fruit, try to use canned or pre-cooked fruit as fresh fruit may give o juices when heated.
- Be careful when biting into sandwiches containing llings such as cheese and jam as they retain heat which can bum if eaten too quickly.
