Inflatable child restraint system the GOBOOSTER child car seat (type BEDI)
The solution of the child restraint system of BEDI type (trade name GOBOOSTER) is
protected by the Czech patent No. 302787 and at the same time by the Community (industrial)
design No. 001860222-0001.
The owner of the patent and of the Community (industrial) design is the company
GUMOTEX, akciová společnost, Mládežnická 3A, č. p. 3062, 690 75 Břeclav
The child restraint system non-integral, approved according to the
Regulation UN ECE No. 44.04
Universal group for children with the weight (15 – 36) kg from the age of approximately 3
years and height up to 150 cm
It is designed for motor vehicle cars equipped with the adult safety-belts
which are approved according to the Regulation UN ECE No. 16
NOTICE
1. The universal child restraint system is approved according to the Regulation UN ECE
No. 44, series of amendments 04 for the common use in vehicles.
The length of vehicle safety belt at the older vehicles has not been checked and therefore it is possible to meet a vehicle in which the BEDI (trade name GOBOOSTER)
restraint system cannot be used.
2. The proper use can be expected provided the vehicle manufacturer declares in the
service instructions the possibility to mount the “universal” child restraint system in
the vehicle.
3. In doubts concerning the use or installation of the BEDI child restraint system consult
either the dealer or the manufacturer of the BEDI child restraint system directl

1 Important information
Read up the manual carefully before first use of the GOBOOSTER child car seat.
The unique design of the inflatable GOBOOSTER child car seat enables the fast and easy
inflation and installation in the vehicle as well as the fast folding in packets with the
length of approx. 30 cm and diameter of approx. 12 cm.
- Design category: The child restraint system non-integral
- The Inflatable child restraint system – the GOBOOSTER child car seat is designed for
safe transport of children in a vehicle. The GOBOOSTER child car seat is classified
into the group II and III for children with weight of 15 kg to 36 kg to which the child
at the age of 3 years and the height up to 150 cm correspond.
- The GOBOOSTER child car seat is intended for the automobile seats equipped with
adult three-point seat belts which are approved according to the Regulation UN ECE
No. 16 or the Directive 77/541/EEC concerning the adult safety-belts as amended. The
adult safety-belts must be fastened in points, so-called clip anchorages which are
approved and tested according to the Regulation UN ECE No.14 or the Directive
76/115/EEC concerning the anchoring as amended. Any additional modifications of
safety seat belts for adults or anchorage points in
a vehicle are non-permissible.
- The child car seat has been manufactured in conformity with Regulation UN ECE No.
44.04 on the child restraint systems and it is approved in compliance with this
Regulation.
Dear customer,
this Manual will provide you with the easy, reliable and safe use of the GOBOOSTER
child car seat.
It contains description and entire information necessary for the right use and should be
placed near the seat to be always available.
The safety of your child depends on the careful reading out and understanding of the
Manual, the correct installation and the use of the GOBOOSTER child car seat.
Therefore you should study the manual carefully and pay close attention to all notices
and warnings. In any unclearness or misunderstanding of the text in the Manual contact
either the manufacturer or the dealer of the GOBOOSTER child car seat.
When reading the Manual, take the Manual of your vehicle. You may need it.
The GOBOOSTER child car seat is designed and adapted in order to protect the child in the
case of a sudden stop or accident. No chid car seat can guarantee the absolute protection from
injury at the accident however its use reduces this risk markedly.
The EC countries and the European countries have identical requirements in their laws for
using the child restraint systems. The use of the child restraint systems in the EC is obligatory.
The child restraint system in Europe must satisfy the Regulation UN ECE No. 44. The laws
specifying requirements for the child restraint systems of other than European countries may
differ. Contact the respective national institution or try asking your car dealer for additional
foreign information.

2 European standards
The legal regulations (laws) of European Union countries define uniformly the technical
requirements which the child restraint system must comply with. The child restraint system
must meet the Regulation UN ECE No. 44 and must be approved according to this directive.
Your child car seat has been approved according to the Regulation UN ECE No. 44, the group
No. II and III for children with the weight of about (15 – 36) kg from the age of three years
and the height up to 150 cm.
The approval mark (circle surrounding the E8) and authorization number beginning with
double digits 04 which is located below the approval mark are put on the child car seat and
must not be removed.
The child car seat may be used only in cars equipped with adult three-point seat belts
authorized on the basis of the Regulation UN ECE No. 16 or the equivalent Directive
77/541/EEC concerning the adult safety-belts as amended.
The adult safety-belts must be fastened only in points reserved therefore, in anchoring points
which satisfy the requirements of the Regulation UN ECE No. 14 or the Directive
76/115/EEC on the anchorage points of adult safety-belts as amended.
3 List of parts
The GOBOOSTER child car seat - one-side coated synthetic textile fabric, filling valve,
safety-relief valve, safety-belt holders, textile strap, metal tintacks, buckle – trident.

4 Notice for users
WARNING
No child car seat can guarantee a 100% protection from injury. However, its proper use
reduces markedly the risk of injury or death to your child. Do not let others install the child
car seat who has not become acquainted with the instructions how to use the child car seat.
The installation of the child car seat has to be carried out by adults only.
Do not install the GOBOOSTER child car seat unless you have read and understood this
Manual.
It is important to fasten the child together with the GOBOOSTER child restraint system with
adult safety belt. The strap of the safety belt must not be twisted.
Pay your attention to location and installation of the child car seat.
The parts of child restraint equipment including plastic parts have to be installed so that they
cannot be caught up with the movable seat or a door of the vehicle during common use of a
vehicle.
The child restraint system must not move about of its own accord or get stuck in the vehicle
door.

Transport safety of your child is given by the quality of the GOBOOSTER child restraint
system and the adult three-point safety belt. It is convenient to use the GOBOOSTER child
restraint system and the adult three-point safety belt especially for children for whom the
child car seat adjusts the child height to the standard three-point safety belt, and further for
whom the installation of the seat with a child fastened by the adult safety belt is steady and
does not tilt up in turning during the vehicle drive.
If the child and the GOBOOSTER seat tilt up when the vehicle is passing a turning, it is
possible to set the strap of safety belt with which the child and the GOBOOSTER seat are
fastened in such a way that they are pressed more to the vehicle seat. In older cars at which
the three-point safety belt is not equipped with the automatic winding device, it is possible to
adjust the strap length and herewith fasten the seat and the child appropriately. The adult
safety belt strap with automatic winding device can be blocked by a jerk and it remains
blocked while it is kept in tension. The child and the child car seat may be fasted firm in a
vehicle and thereby the self-motion aside during the vehicle ride is prevented. If the firm
fastening is unpleasant for your child, then the GOBOOSTER child restraint system is not
suitable for your child.
Do not use other setups, configurations or arrangement of the GOBOOSTER child restraint
system and adult safety belt than those ones which are stated in this Manual.
Do not leave the child in the seat unattended.
Do not leave the unsecured child car seat in the vehicle. It can be thrown around and may
injure car occupants at braking, sudden change of travel direction or accident. Carry it either
folded in the luggage compartment or fasten it fast with blocked adult safety belt (the strap
must remain in tension).
Do not leave in a vehicle luggage unsecured against move. They may hurt the driver or fellow
traveller by inertial force when braking.
After an accident it is recommended to replace the child car seat. The accident may damage
the child car seat and cause damage or defect that you cannot see with naked eye.
Do not repair the child car seat anyhow and do not use spare parts of other manufacturers.
Do not use the child car seat if it is damaged or it is missing any parts.
Always touch by hand the surface temperature of the whole child car seat. Provided you park
in the direct sun, the child car seat can become very hot and contact with hot parts can burn
your child´s skin.
Do not lend the child car seat to anybody without also giving them these instructions for use.
Never use a second hand child car seat or any child car seat you do not know its history.

7 Description of the GOBOOSTER child car seat
The child car seat has been made from two basic parts – seat (1) and backrest (2) which are
connected after inflation into a single-chamber body anatomical formed for a seating child.
The inflation and deflation is carried out by means of the filling valve (3) located in the upper
rear part of the backrest.
The safety-relief valve (4) situated on the seat side part serves for the optimum pressure
regulation inside of the inflated child car seat. The valve prevents from overinflating the child
car seat during inflation or due to increased surrounding temperature.
The holders of seat belt strap (5) and (6) are designed for fixing the correct position of
fastening straps towards the transported child.
The holder of the upper strap can be adjusted in slots (8).
The holder is equipped with a fastening buckle “trident” (7).
The child car seat is delivered in the textile casing.
The homologation label (10), the manufacturer’s label (11) and visual fitting instructions (12)
are placed on the pocket (13) attached on the rear upper part of the backrest. The User’s
Manual is stored in the pocket. The red targets (14, 15) indicating the fastening strap paths of
the vehicle are located in the seat and backrest front side.

8 Inflation and deflation instructions for the BEDI child car seat

The valve located in the upper rear part of the backrest allows inflation and deflation of the
child car seat. When handling with valve follow figure 2.
Child car seat inflation:
Remove the child car seat from the packaging, unfold and check the condition of the whole
child car seat and especially the valve. If the child car seat is in undamaged and complete
condition, you can inflate it. Remove the plastic cap “a” from the filling valve end that is
attached to the filling valve body “b” by means of a flexible tape with a sleeve. Thus the
mouthpiece is uncovered which is equipped with a clack valve inside.
Carry out the inflation either by mouth or by means of mechanical pump. The clack valve
will open due to the pressure of the air being inflated and the air will stream into the child car
seat.
At pressure release on mouthpiece the filling valve turns off automatically.
Inflate as long as the safety –relief valve located on the child car seat side part opens (by
putting the hand to the valve you will feel escaping air). Repeat the inflation of the child
restraint system whenever you have suspicion of pressure decrease.
After completed inflation the safety-relief valve turns off by itself after short while, too.
In this way we achieve the correct operating pressure in the child car seat.
The child car seat deflation:
Remove the plastic cap “a” and insert the part “c” on the flexible tape into the mouthpiece.
The air starts to escape out of the child car seat. Leave the cap in this position during the
whole time of the child car seat deflation. At the same time roll the child car seat from the
farthest end towards the filling valve for the most air to escape from the child car seat. Then
release the cap and put it on the filling valve end.

9 Installation instructions and placement of the GOBOOSTER child
car seat in a vehicle
The improper placement of the child car seat in the vehicle increases the risk of injury of a
transported child. Some older cars are not accommodated for the child car seat application,
they are not equipped with the approved three-point adult safety belts. The three-point adult
safety belt is provided with the homologation label which among others includes the
homologation mark qualifying the safety belt. The homologation mark starts with the letter
A. The examples of homologation marks are A, Ar4m. If you are not sure of possibility
whether the GOBOOSTER child restraint system can be used in your vehicle, consult the
instructions for use.
The central rear seat at older cars is equipped generally with a two-point safety belt which
leads across the lap only. The child car seat must not be applied on this seat.
The child car seat must always be placed facing forward in the travel direction.
10 Basic adjustment of the GOBOOSTER child car seat for a
transported child
The seating of a child in the GOBOOSTER child car seat is illustrated in Figure 3.
Place the inflated child car seat on the left or right seat of a vehicle.
On the child car seat, check the position of the upper belt holder whether it is located on the
correct side according to the left or right position of the child car seat in the vehicle.
If the holder position is the opposite side than we need, re-mount it as follows:
- Unbuckle the metal tintack on the rear holder side (see Figure 3, detail C1); remove it
from slots forward and remove it to the correct side with the reversed procedure;
- Seat the transported child in the child car seat
Carry out the basic adjustment in such a way that you choose the proper setting of the upper
belt holder:
- Unbuckle the buckle (trident) of belt holder (see Figure 4, detail C2));
- Fasten the transported child with the vehicle fastening strap in the child car seat
- Adjust and tighten the belt leading above the chest so that the belt may not threaten the
neck, and so that it may not slip over the shoulder down;
- Adapt the adjustment of the upper belt holder to this belt position.
Eight slots in the child car seat edge allow in total five settings of the holder which always
occupies the length over four slots.

11 Using of the adjusted GOBOOSTER child car seat and seating of the
child
Use of the adjusted child car seat
• Seat the child onto the child car seat
• Release the buckle “trident” of the holder
• Fasten the child and the child car seat with adult three-point safety belt
• Fasten the buckle “trident” so that the safety belt strap coming over the child chest
is secured with the upper strap holder and a part of safety belt strap coming over
the child pelvis is secured with both lower holders of the safety belt strap (Fig. 5).
Carry out the release conversely.

12 Risk factors
• Sharp objects in the neighbourhood of the child car seat or when handling it;
• Temperature - storage and using have to be in the temperature range which is
recommended in the Manual (storage +15 °C up to +35 °C, use -20 °C up to
90 °C);
• Humidity – continuous excessive humidity when using or storage can cause the
corrosion of metal parts or penetration of mustiness;
• Negative effect of substances – acid, lye, oil, petrol, toluene, acetone, kerosene
and similar solvents can cause deterioration of the child car seat.
13 Safety belts
Other than three-point safety belts approved according to the Regulation ECE UN No. 16 or
Directive 77/541/EEC are not designed for application of the child car seat.
Please pay close attention to your safety belts. Some three-point safety belts are not safe to
the use with the child car seat, mainly in older cars even if they look very much like seat belts
that are safe to use. If you are not sure consult the service instructions for your car.

Safe safety belts
Only the approved three-point safety belts with strap guiding over lap and shoulder can be
used for the GOBOOSTER child car seat.
Dangerous safety belts
Never use any of the following vehicle safety belts.
Never use the central two-point (lap-only) safety belt.
Never use the shoulder belt which is mounted on door and which does not meet the
Regulation UN ECE No. 16 or Directive 77/541/EEC.
14 Airbags
At the child restraint systems of group I, II, III which are designed for transport of
children in vehicles seating in the child restraint system facing forward in the direction
of travel, the airbag in front of the child restraint system is not turned off.
15 Further information and instructions
- Follow the instructions stated in the User’s Manual;
- Use only such child car seat accessory which is recommended by the manufacturer;
- Any alterations in the child car seat design are non-permissible;
- Check the child car seat before every use whether it is not damaged - any defects
obstruct the safe use of the child car seat;
- Replace the child car seat provided it has been exposed to the heavy stress at an
accident;
- Inflate always the child car seat to the correct pressure which is given by the safetyrelief valve;
- Check the functionality of the used vehicle three-point safety belt for fastening of the
child and the GOBOOSTER child restraint system;
- Only one child is to be transported in one child car seat;
- Re-adjust the child car seat provided the child has changed its parameters – height,
weight or if another child is transported in the child car seat than for whom the basic
adjustment has been carried out;
- Do not leave the child in the child car seat unattended;
- According to the Instructions for Use, the child has to be fastened properly during a
drive;
- The straps of the adult safety belt must not be twisted or otherwise entangled and
have to lay flat against the child body;
- The shoulder strap of the safety belt must not be loose and must not lead under
child´s arm;
- The lap strap of the safety belt must be low and snug on the child´s thighs and
pelvis, not over the soft belly parts;
- Secure properly all pieces of luggage and other objects which could cause the
injury of the child, fellow traveller or tearing of the child car seat at a collision;

- The child car seat GOBOOSTER is not provided with a cover, therefore touch
with bare hand before seating a child on the child car seat whether the child car
seat surface is not too hot. Having felt burning, remove the child car seat from
the car and let it airing till it cools down to the acceptable temperature and then
give back into the car;
- Provided the child car seat has been exposed to high temperature (the car in summer
in the sun), the pressure inside of the child car seat increases due to temperature and
the safety-relief valve releases the excessive air; before use in such case it is necessary
to leave the child car seat cool down to the acceptable temperature (and also
considering the safety of the transported child) and inflate it to the correct pressure;
- At low temperatures check by touch the pressure in the chid car seat. If the child
car seat is softer than usually, inflate the child car seat.
- When handling the child car seat avoid the contact with sharp objects and negative
effect by forbidden substances;
- Provided the child is not able to keep up in the child car seat in a safe position, do not
use the GOBOOSTER child car seat and choose another child restraint system for
transport of the child.
16 Unsuitableness of child car use
Warning
The child car seat is not suitable for playing, it must not be used neither in water as the lifesaving apparatus nor for recreation and it is not designed for the airplane transport of children.
17 Unpacking and packing the child car seat
The purchased GOBOOSTER child car seat is placed in a textile casing together with the
User’s Manual.
Unpacking of GOBOOSTER child car seat
- Check the ambient temperature when unpacking the GOBOOSTER child car seat.
Provided the GOBOOSTER child car seat was folded up at the temperatures below -10 °C,
it is necessary to warm it up at the temperature above 15 °C before unpacking for the
duration of approx. 30 min. You prevent the possible damage of the fabric coating and
thereby non-reversible damage;
- Remove the child car seat from the casing;
- Unfold the child car seat in plane;
- Inflate it according to the Chapter No. 8.
Packing of child car seat
- Check the ambient temperature when packing the GOBOOSTER child car seat. Provided
the child car seat was used at the temperatures below -10 °C, it is necessary to warm it up at
the temperature above 15 °C before packing for the duration of approx. 30 min. You
prevent the possible damage of the fabric coating and thereby non-reversible damage;
- Deflate the child car seat with the procedure stated in the Chapter No. 8;
- Unfold it in plane;

- Fold the longer size of the child car seat half-and-half;
- Fold the folded child car seat into three parts so that the filling valve remains on the upper
side;
- Place the folded child car seat into the textile casing.

18 Storage
At long-term storage and also short-term storage, store the child car seat in the deflated and
clean condition at the room temperature (15 up to 35 °C) minimum 1.5 m from radiant heat
source, in a dark, dry and clean place out of reach of harmful substances (acids, lye, oil,
petrol, toluene, acetone, kerosene and similar solvents), solar radiation and rodents to
minimize the damage danger.
At long-term storage, the manufacturer recommends to inflate the child car seat once every 6
months for the duration of 24 hours and check whether any damage occurred.
19 Maintenance
The child car seat valves and holders do not need any special maintenance.

Clean the textile surface of the GOBOOSTER child car seat by means of a little sponge with
lukewarm water with addition of soap or detergent – shampoo.
Warning
Do not use any solvents for cleaning.
Any liquid, small objects and other impurities must not get into the valves.

21 Terms of delivery
The GOBOOSTER child car seat is supplied folded in a textile casing. The textile casing and
User’s Manual belong to the child car seat accessory.
22 Conditions of guarantee and lifetime
The guarantee period of the GOBOOSTER child car seat is 24 months from the date of sale.
The manufacturer provides the repair free of charge or compensation for defects of material or
manufacturer character.
When observing the recommended maintenance and Instructions for use, the minimum
lifetime of the GOBOOSTER child car seat is 5 years.

23 The guarantee and after guarantee service
The guarantee and after guarantee service is provided by the manufacturer:

24 Disposal of the GOBOOSTER child car seat and transport packaging
- Dispose of the child car seat in a standard way like any other municipal waste at municipal
waste disposal site.
- Recycle the textile casing or dispose of at municipal waste disposal site.
- Recycle the User’s Manual or dispose of at municipal waste disposal site.
Any other way of disposal is impermissible!

25.2 The international approval mark – it is issued by authorization authority
and it certificates that
• the product complies with Regulation ECE No. 44 amendments series 04
• the manufacturer has implemented the quality management system,
• the quality control of the GOBOOSTER child car seat has been carried out according to the
Regulation ECE UN No. 44 amendments series 04
Note:
• The word “universal” (UNIVERSAL) means that the child restraint system is not
designed for assembly exclusively in one type of a vehicle but its use is universal,
in this case in vehicles equipped with adult three-point safety belts.
• The weight range quotes that the product has been tested and is designed for
children with the weight ranging from 15 to 36 kg.
• The circle surrounding the letter E 8 indicates that the child restraint system has
been approved by the approval authority of the Czech Republic which is the
Ministry of Transport.
• The bellow mentioned number is the approval number. The first double digits
indicate according to which directive amendments series the child restraint system
has been approved (in this case 4.). The follow-up number has been assigned to the
product by the authorization body which has filed the whole documentation
connected with the product under the stated number.

25.3 Visual fitting instructions – information about the handling procedure

26 Guarantee certificate
Guarantee conditions
a) The guarantee period is 24 months from the date of sale;
b) The guarantee applies the material faults and manufacturing defects caused by the
manufacturer which appear within the guarantee period;
c) When claiming the guarantee, present together with the product the duly filled in
guarantee certificate and the proof of purchase;
d) The product has to be used exclusively for the purpose for which it has been
manufactured;
e) The product has to be stored, treated and maintained properly;
f) During the guarantee period, the product has to be repaired by the service station
exclusively. Therefore contact the shop where you have bought the product;
g) It is necessary to deliver the product in clean condition and in the protective cover.
The guarantee does not apply for:
a) Defects arisen from by not observing of the guarantee conditions;
b) Parts damaged by usual physical wear and tear;
c) Pulled out fastening parts, straps and tintacks;
