Safety instructions
To ensure that this device provides you with long-term satisfaction and
enjoyment, please observe the following instructions.
This device is designed for the playback of audio signals. Any other use is
expressly prohibited.
Do not drop the device into the water or subject it to continuous contact
with water. Avoid using it for long periods in the rain or damp.
Protect the device from excessive heat (do not place it on the heater, for
example).
Only use a soft duster to clean the housing. Do not use abrasive cleaning
or polishing agents.
Never open the device casing. The manufacturer accepts no liability for
damage resulting from improper handling.
The type plate is located on the back of the device.

Inserting the batteries
1 Dry off the device if necessary.
2 Open the battery compartment on the back of the device.
3 Insert three batteries (type LR06, AM3, size AA 1.5 V). Note the polari-
ty marked on the bottom of the compartment.
Note:
If the device receives no power for longer than 1 minute after the used batteries are taken out, the time and any preset stations are deleted.
Before you can use the device again you may have to press the »RESET« button on the bottom of the battery compartment (below the middle battery).
4 Close the battery compartment.
Note:
When you close the battery compartment, make sure the lid is properly fitted and watertight.
We recommend alkaline batteries for a prolonged lifetime. Do not mix batteries of different types.
You must remove the batteries if they are flat or have not been used for a long time. No liability is accepted for damage resulting from leaking batteries.
Batteries, including those which are heavy metal-free, may not be dis­posed of with household waste. Please dispose of used batteries in an environmentally sound manner. Find out about the legal regulations which apply in your area.

Controls
ON/OFF Switches the radio on and off;

REV/MIN Tunes the radio frequency; sets the
minutes; changes between 12 and 24 hour clock if you press »FWD/

TIME SET Sets the time if you press
»FWD/HR« or »REV/MIN« at the same time
STATION Buttons for 4 preset stations; 1 ... 4 hold down (2 sec.) to store a station
+VOLUME - Increases the volume; reduces the

Clock operation
When you insert the batteries into the device for the first time, the time flashes in the display to indicate that you must set the clock.
Setting the clock
1 Press and hold down »TIME SET«.
2 Press »FWD/HR« to set the hours and »REV/MIN« to set the minutes.
3 Press »FWD/HR« or »REV/MIN« once to move forwards in steps of
one hour or one minute.
Note:
If you hold the buttons down longer than 0.5 seconds, the time increases continuously.
Switching between 12 and 24 hour format
In the 12 hour format the time displays in the morning and the afternoon are identical. The abbreviations AM and PM are therefore used to differentiate between the morning and the afternoon. If you select 12 hour format »PM« appears in the display after noon. There is no additional identification in the morning.
1 Press »ON/OFF« to switch off the device.
– The time appears in the display.
2 Press »FWD/HR« and »REV/MIN« at the same time and hold them
down for 2 seconds. – The time shown in the display changes between 12 and 24 hour for-
mat.
3 To change the format again repeat step 2.
Time display
During radio operation you can select permanent time display or frequency display.
1 Press »ON/OFF« to switch on the device.
– The frequency of the station you were last listening to appears in the
display. After a short time the set time appears continuously.
2 Press »TIME SET«.
– The current frequency is displayed continuously.
3 Press »TIME SET« again.
– The display changes and the set time is displayed continuously.
Note:
If you press »STATION 1 ... 4«, »FWD/HR« or »REV/MIN« while the time is displayed, the current frequency briefly appears.

Switching on/off
1 Press »ON/OFF« to switch the device on and off.
Radio operation
Station selection
There are several ways to select the station with the device:
1 Briefly press »FWD/HR« or »REV/MIN« to set the frequency manual-
ly. – The frequency changes in 50 kHz steps (CE version) or 100 kHz steps
(FCC version).
or
Press and hold down »FWD/HR« or »REV/MIN« then let go. – The automatic station search begins and then stops at the next station
it finds.
or
Select a preset station by pressing »STATION 1 ... 4«.
Storing stations
1 Tune to the station you want to store.
2 Press and hold down one of the station buttons »STATION 1 ... 4«.
– The signal tone indicates that the station has been stored on the but-
ton.
3 To store more stations on the other buttons repeat steps 1 to 2.
Timer settings
If the timer function is selected, the device switches off after the set time.
1 Activate the function by pressing »TIMER«.
– The device switches itself on and the minimum time you can set
(5 min.) appears for 5 seconds in the display.
2 To select the time, keep pressing »TIMER«.
– The device switches itself off after the set time has elapsed.
Note:
The timer can be set to 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 60 minutes. 5 seconds after you finish the setting the clock or current frequency is displayed again. To check how much time is left on the timer, press »TIMER« once. To switch off before the set time, press »ON/OFF«.
