Please read the following information carefully before using the device for
the rst time, and keep this Quick Start Guide in a safe place for future
reference.
Always treat the device with care and keep it in a clean and dust­free environment.
Do not expose the device to extremely hot, cold or humid environment. The operation temperature is from –10°C to 50°C.
Do not use the device in wet or rainy conditions.
Do not charge the device in extremely hot (over 38°C) or cold conditions (below 0°C).
Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device including the charger.
Do not operate the device when your hands are wet.
Do not insert foreign objects into the openings of the device.
Use only the charger and battery approved for the device.
Install the cradle on a at and stable surface.
Do not cascade over 3 cradles in series.
Do not use the charger if the power cord or plug is damaged.
Do not disassemble, crush or puncture the battery.

Installing the Battery
1. Align the battery metal contacts with the contact pins inside the battery compartment.
2. Press the battery down until the battery lock clicks into place.
3. Align the battery cover with the battery compartment; and push the battery cover down until it is locked.

Removing the Battery
Note: Always power off the device before removing the battery.
1. Slide the battery cover lock down until the battery cover ejects slightly.
2. Remove the battery cover.
3. Slide the battery lock to the right and hold it at the unlocked position.
4. Lift the battery from the battery compartment.

Battery Charging
Charging the Device
1. Connect the AC/DC adaptor to the DC jack of the cradle.
2. Plug the AC/DC adaptor into a suitable power socket. The cradle power LED will turn green when power is supplied to the cradle.
3. Insert the device to the cradle slot. The device LED will ash amber while charging, then it will turn green when fully charged.
Note: Alternately, use the approved travel adaptor to charge the device via the USB connector.
Charging the Spare Battery
1. Align the battery metal contacts with the contact plates of the battery slot.
2. Press the battery down to t into the battery slot. The cradle battery LED will turn red while charging, then it will turn green when fully charged.

Cascading the DT4000 Cradles
DT4000 cradles can be cascaded in series to charge devices and batteries simultaneously with one AC/DC adaptor. Each adaptor supports maximum 3 cascaded cradles.
Important: Do not cascade over 3 cradles in series.
1. Disconnect AC/DC adaptor, and turn over 2 cradles.
2. Connect the DC Power Cable of one cradle to the DC power connector of the other cradle.
3. Apply the metal plate accessory to the recess area as illustrated, and fasten the metal plate screws with a coin or screwdriver.
4. Re-connect the AC/DC Adaptor to the cradle.

Powering the Device On and Off
Powering on the Device
Press and hold the Power key for 3 seconds until the LED indicates aqua blue.
Note: The device can only power on when the battery cover is closed.
Powering off the Device
Press and hold the Power key for 3 seconds, and follow the screen instructions to power off the device.
Suspending the Device
If the device is on, press the Power key once or close the ip cover to
suspend the device (i.e. entering sleep mode), saving battery power.
To resume operation from sleep mode, press the Power key once or
open the ip cover.
Note: The device will always maintain the WLAN connection even after entering the sleep mode.

Viewing System Information
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > About device.
2. Scroll to view model number, Android version, build number, etc.
3. Select Status to view serial number, battery status, IP info., etc.
Using Wi-Fi
Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Wi-Fi.
2. Slide the Wi-Fi On/Off switch to the ON position.
3. Click Wi-Fi, and select a network.
4. Input the network key when prompted.
5. Select Lock Single Network to lock the device to the network.
6. Select Show advanced options to assign static IP/proxy settings.
7. Click Connect.
Conguring Wi-Fi Radio Parameters
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Wi-Fi.
2. Select Wi-Fi > Options > Advanced > Radio parameters.
3. Click Country to select the operating country.
4. Click Frequency band to select a frequency band option.
5. Click Channel to select a Wi-Fi channel option.
Using Bluetooth
To connect to a Bluetooth device:
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Bluetooth.
2. Slide the Bluetooth On/Off switch to the ON position. Ensure the device to be paired is set to discovery mode within range.

3. Click Bluetooth, and select a device under AVAILABLE DEVICES. Click SEARCH FOR DEVICES if it does not appear in the list.
4. Input PIN, and then click OK to pair.
5. Once paired, the device is displayed under PAIRED DEVICES.
Using NFC
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > More.
2. Select the NFC checkbox to turn on NFC.
Note: The reading range is approx. 2mm from the NFC scanning area.
Adjusting Date & Time
To set up the date and time manually:
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Date & time.
2. Uncheck the Automatic date & time checkbox.
3. Adjust Set date, Select time zone, Set time, Use 24-hour format,
Choose date format accordingly.
Adjusting Volume
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Sound > Volumes
2. Drag the slide bar to adjust the volume.

1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Display > Brightness.
2. Drag the slide bar to adjust the backlight, or select AUTO for auto brightness adjustment.

1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Display > Wallpaper.

3. Browse to a picture, and then click SET WALLPAPER.
Adjusting Screen timeout & Screen dim timeout
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Display
2. Adjust the timeout period for the following options:
Sleep: Adjust the idle period before the device enters sleep mode. Sleep in charging: Adjust the idle period before the device enters
sleep mode while charging. Screen dim timeout: Adjust the screen dim period before the
screen turns off.
Adjusting Flip Cover Setting
By default, the screen is turned off when closing the ip cover. To change
the setting, select Application drawer > Settings > Display > Flip cover.
Hiding System Bars
To hide the status bar and navigation bar:
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Display > System bars.
2. Select the required options for Admin and User mode display.
Dening Keys
The Left side key and Right side key are set as Menu key and Back key
by default. To change the key denition:
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Key.
2. In Left side key and Right side key menu, select Function select
to change the key denition.
Changing Battery Charging Policy
By default, smart charging mechanism is enabled to charge the battery only when the battery level is lower than 80%. To adjust the charging trigger level:
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Battery.

2. Select Smart charging > Smart charging settings.
3. Drag the slide bar to adjust the charging trigger level, and then click
OK.
Changing Language
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Language & input > Language.
2. Select a language.
Performing System Backup
To perform system backup:
1. Select Application drawer > System Backup.
2. Select the Backup button.
3. Backup path is the backup image name. Edit the path if needed.
4. Select Internal storage or SD card for the Backup Location.
5. Select a backup data option from Backup selection:
OS: Backup OS only. DATA : Backup installed applications, settings, and data. OS+DATA: Backup OS, installed applications, settings, and data.
6. To restore the backup image only on the current device, check the Need to match serial no. checkbox.
7. Click Start, and then click OK when prompted.
8. The device reboots automatically upon completing the backup.
Note:
Close all active programs before performing backup or restore.
The device saves the backup image in the folder named backup.

Performing System Restore
To restore the system from a backup image:
1. Select Application drawer > System Backup.

2. Select the Restore button.
3. Select the backup image location from Backup location.
4. Select the backup image le from the Restore content menu.
5. Click Start, and then click OK when prompted.
6. The device reboots automatically upon completing the restore.
Note:
The backup image folder must be placed in the backup folder.
When backing up only the data, the image should be restored
on the same firmware version. Restoring on a different firmware version might create instability or corruption.
Resetting the Device
Soft Reset
Soft reset shuts down and reboots the device. It preserves installed applications, settings, and saved data. To perform a soft reset:
1. Remove the battery cover.
2. Press the reset button once.
3. Close the battery cover, and power on the device.
Reset Button
Clean Reset
Clean reset restores the system to factory default by erasing all installed applications, settings and data. To perform a clean reset:
1. Select Application drawer > Settings > Backup & reset >
Factory data reset.
2. Check the Erase SD card checkbox to clear internal SD card contents if needed.
3. Click Reset device > Erase everything.
