Models Affected: Extreme Steam Gas Steamers

Subject: Choke Timer
Purpose: To Prevent Delay in Blower Solenoid Activation

Issue: When replacing a choke timer on the Intek gas steamer make sure to order the

choke timer and resistor needed for the model you are servicing. The Blower
Solenoid should remain close for 45 seconds for a unit with auto-fill and 16
seconds for a unit that is manually filled.

Cause and Effect: - If the resistor Part # NT1813 that’s used on an auto-fill choke

timer Part # NT1812 is added to a manual choke timer Part #
NT1745 the choke will stay engaged for “120 sec” instead of “45
sec”

- If the resistor Part # NT1748 that’s used on a manual fill choke
timer is added to an auto-fill choke timer Part # NT1812 the choke
will stay engaged “16 sec” instead of “45 sec”

If the choke is engaged for an extended period of time, the unit can start to burn poorly
and possibly create sooting.

Resistor value should be 3.9 OHM Resistor value should be 1.5 OHM
