The primary risks of operating a heat gun are as follows: You can be seriously burned or set your clothes on fire. Hot air can ignite explosive or flammable materials, if nearby. To reduce your risk of serious injury when operating this tool, completely heed and understand the following.
PROTECT YOURSELF FROM BURNS AND FIRE. Avoid contact with nozzle of heat gun dur-
ing and immediately after use, and never direct hot airflow at others to reduce risk of serious burns, or clothing catching on fire. Never use heat gun as a hair dryer. Do not wear clothing, apparel or jewelry that can become ignited by airflow. Always tie back or cover long hair.
REDUCE RISK OF LEAD EXPOSURE. Never remove lead-based paint with a heat gun. Leadbased paint should only be removed by a professional. Always use a respirator designed to filter lead and use adequate ventilation when stripping paint with a heat gun.
REDUCE RISK OF FIRE AND EXPLOSIONS.
This tool can ignite explosive or flammable materials nearby. Move these materials a safe distance away, always check hidden areas before applying heat, and keep moving tool in a continuous, back-and-forth motion. Always keep a fire extinguisher on hand.
AVOID UNATTENDED OPERATION. Never leave tool running while unattended. Turn tool off, unplug, and allow nozzle to cool after use.
AVOID SUDDEN STARTUP. Firmly grip tool. Do not keep finger on switch while carrying.
USE TOOL FOR INTENDED PURPOSE. Never modify, alter, or use tool for a purpose not intended by the manufacturer or serious injury or death may result!
AVOID AWKWARD POSITIONS. Keep proper footing and balance at all times when operating tool. Do not overreach! Avoid hand positions that make tool control difficult or increase the risk of accidental injury.
AVOID DISTRACTIONS. Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance from work area. Stop using tool if they become a distraction.
MAINTAIN POWER CORDS. When disconnecting tool from power, pull the plug—NOT the cord. Carrying or pulling the cord may damage wires inside. Do not handle cord/plug with wet hands. Avoid cord damage by keeping it away from heated surfaces, high traffic areas, harsh chemicals, sharp edges, moving parts, and wet/ damp locations. Damaged cords increase risk of electrocution.
EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTIES. If at any time you experience difficulties performing the intended operation, stop using the tool! Contact our Technical Support at (570) 546-9663.
This tool MUST be grounded. In the event of certain malfunctions or breakdowns, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for electric current.
