Your Continuum 3 represents our finest sound quality. It’s the result of research begun by Designer

Roy Johnson more than 30 years ago, which advanced centuries of related research by the country’s most

gifted scientists. Along the way, Roy solved the problem that had eluded top engineers and scientists since the

first day of talking pictures: Making a simple crossover circuit work perfectly with its drivers and cabinet, to

deliver the clearest possible time-coherent sound. In your possession is that solution—the Continuum 3.

With your purchase, you’ve given yourself Happy Ears for Life. Not only will you enjoy listening to and

Step 1: Receiving, inspecting, unpacking

You'll receive two cartons of Continuum 3 speakers. Since each speaker weighs 130lbs., we recommend

having a partner help you through the first few steps. Each cast marble structure is shipped in three pieces—

Green Mountain Audio

two legs and the body. For transit, the three pieces were packed in their own foam-lined carton and then

strapped to the top of the woofer cabinet. You'll need to reverse our packing procedure and re-assemble each

marble sculpture now.

Thoroughly inspect your shipment

First, let's ensure you received what we shipped. Please inspect the shipping carton for damage, looking

specifically for signs of impact damage and punctures. If none are present, proceed with opening the cartons

and continue to look and listen for any damage as you begin to unpack them. Look and listen for any rattles,

cracks, and chips. If damage is discovered, immediately contact the shipper, and then contact either your

Retailer or the Factory.

Unpacking the Continuum 3

The shipping-label side of each carton is the front of the speaker. With that side up, lay the cartons on the

floor. Open and remove the top piece of packing foam that you’ll see (it’s the correct piece when you see the

brown box underneath that contains the marble sculpture).

With your helper, stand each carton up. One of you will hold onto the shipping carton, while the other grasps

the speaker with both hands to slide it out of the box. Another way of achieving this goal is to stand the carton

and open both the front and the back of each. The helper would then push—and you would pull—the speaker

from its box. You’ll find it easier to slide it out of the box if it’s resting on its Styrofoam base, and we’ll be happy

if you DO NOT use the bass port, on top, as a handle. It is at this point that we must ask you to repeat the

following sentence three times, because the point cannot be overstated enough: The bass port on top is

NOT a handle! Is NOT! Is NOT! Is NOT! We hope you smiled. We’re human, too--and also want to use that

top bass port as the handle it looks like it should be. (Honest, we really do repeat this to ourselves!)

Notes: It's a good idea at this stage to mark each piece of packing material in terms of 'front,' ‘back,' ‘top,’ and

‘bottom.’ The custom cartons may be flattened for storage in a dry location. Use a sofa cushion (and/or pillows)

to support the sculpture during transit without cartons.
