Description
The Greenlee TC1S Test Unit Kit is a hand-held testing device intended to measure the crimping force produced by 1.5-ton, 4-ton, 5-ton, 6-ton, and 12-ton Greenlee hydraulic crimping tools.

This manual is intended to familiarize all personnel with the safe operation and maintenance procedures for the following Greenlee tool:

Charging Instructions
1. Charge the TC1S for 14 to 16 hours before using the tool for the first time.
2. Use only the TCC115S adapter/charger for the TC1S.

Initialization Instructions
1. Press ON.
2. During the first 3 seconds of initialization, press P, then F, and then

3. To set language, press SI/US and use to toggle between “units” and “language”. Press Prog/Enter to complete the selection.
4. To set units, press SI/US and use
to toggle between “units” and “language”. Select “SI/US” and press Prog/Enter. Use to toggle between “SI” and “US” units, and press Prog/Enter to complete the selection.
5. To set date and time, press Prog/Enter and Output. Use to select “date” or “time”. Use and
Prog/Enter to adjust time and date.
Assembly Instructions
1. Select the proper force sensor and adapter accord­ing to the tool output force.
2. Connect the force sensor interface cable into the upper right jack of the TC1S Digital Indicator (marked “F” on back of unit).
Select Force Sensor Value
1. Turn on the TC1S Digital Indicator.
2. Press Prog/Enter, and then press F.
3. Use to select “*calibr.value”, and then press Prog/Enter.
4. Use to position the cursor, and to change the value.
5. Set value to “70.0 kN” for the TF70(S) and “130.0 kN” for the TF130(S), and then press Prog/Enter.
6. The upper left corner of the TC1S display will indicate “TF70S” or “TF130S”.
Zero Point Correction
1. Be sure the load cell is not installed in the adapter.
2. Turn on the TC1S Digital Indicator.
3. Press Prog/Enter, and then press F.
4. Use to select “set to zero”.
5. Press Prog/Enter twice.

Operation
1. Assemble the force sensor load cell into the adapter.
2. Place the force-sensing adapter on the fixed end, as a die would be installed.
Note: The ECCX tools require a UA22 die adapter.
3. Turn on the TC1S Digital Indicator.
4. Press F to set the TC1S to measure force.
5. Press Clear to remove the last stored peak force.
6. Cycle the Greenlee tool.
The peak force is the lower reading.
The current force is the upper reading.
7. Press Clear and repeat step 6.
8. Press Output to see the peak value of all crimping cycles.
Unit of Measure Change
1. Press SI/US.
2. Use to select “units”.
3. Press Prog/Enter.
4. Use to select “SI” or “US” units.
5. Press Prog/Enter to confirm selection.
Maintenance
Do not attempt to repair this unit. It contains no user-serviceable parts.
Failure to observe this precaution may result in injury and may damage the unit.
Cleaning
Periodically wipe the case with a damp cloth and mild detergent; do not use abrasives or solvents.
