PNEUMATIC RELIEF VALVE
(PRV)
Pneumatic Temperature Response Device
Application
The Pneumatic Relief Valve (PRV) is a heat responsive device used in conjunction with Greenheck fire/smoke dampers. An alternative to the PRV would be an RRL with an EP (electric/pneumatic) switch. The PRV activates when temperatures in excess of 165°F (74°C) or 212°F (100°C) are detected. When the fuse link melts, air from the actuator is exhausted to close the damper. Pneumatic actuators are to be piped per local codes. The PRV must be installed at the factory and cannot be added in the field.
