How To: Insert Bearing into Opener Blade Flange
Part# Description
107-137V Flange and Bearing Assy
Instructions:
These instructions explain how
to insert a bearing into a bearing flange so no damage
results to the bearing.
CAUTION: Do not push on
the inner race of the bearing
only, doing so will damage
the bearing and it will need
to be replaced.
If there is bearing damage the
opener blade will not perform
correctly.
1. Position the flange on a
flat surface on the bed of
a hydraulic or manual
press (as shown in Fig 1).
Note: There is an orientation
groove on the outside edge of
the bearing to indicate that end
faces out (as shown in Fig 1).
2. Set the bearing in the
flange with the orientation
groove up (as shown in
Fig 1).
3. Lay a heavy bar or plate
(3⁄4” to 1” thick) across the
bearing so it is pushing on
the inner race and outer
race of the bearing at the
same time.
4. Operate the press to push
the bearing into the flange
until it is “seated” in the
flange.
