Please be sure to observe the safety instructions in the appendix of these operating instructions. If the model is given to another person then the complete operating instructions must be included with the model as a reference.
General
The T-28 model is an easy-to-operate semiscale model with outstanding flight
characteristics. The model is delivered in a "ready for HoTT“ (RFH)" condition.
It is equipped by standard with a high-quality GR-12 HoTT receiver and a GraupnerLiPo battery 3S 800 mAh 11.1 V.
Assembly notices
The figure shows the individual parts of the package. You do not need any tools for the assembly. Only the adhesion of the rudder assembly (2) with fast setting glue Ord. No. 5821 (not included) is required. The hook-and-loop strip (4) has two parts and is provided to fix the Li-Po battery in place (5). Please observe that the LiPo battery (5) is packed separately in another carton. After fitting the cockpit (3), the center of gravity can be tested.
The center of gravity
The center of gravity is 50 mm from the separation line between the hull and wing. The position of the center of gravity is tested by supporting the model under wing in the center of gravity area using two fingers. The model should

stop rocking back and forth at a horizontal attitude. If necessary, shift the LiPo battery accordingly.
The figure shows the marks for the center of gravity on the bottom of the hull.
Binding the GR-12S receiver to your HoTT transmitter
The "BIND" procedure depends on the HoTT COMPUTER SYSTEM to be used. Please pay attention to the following notices as well as those notices in your remote control unit's manual about "Binding" the transmitter and receiver. First, fully charge the LiPo battery and the transmitter's battery. Move the right joystick on your transmitter to the rear into its "Motor OFF" position. Now switch the transmitter on and start the "BIND" process.
Please observe that the receiver system is switched on with the connection of the BEC plug connector. To press the SET button of the receiver GR-12 HoTT, it can be left in the model as shown.

Perform a test of rudder functions after the "BIND" process has been completed. The servos are to be plugged into the receiver as follows: socket 1 speed regulator, socket 2 aileron servos, socket 3 elevator servo For mode 1 this means that motor speed regulation and directional control are performed with the right joystick and that elevator control is performed with the left joystick. Make any necessary corrections to servo operating direction and to put flaps into their center positions (neutral positions). Now perform a motor test by pushing the right joystick forward. Please be sure to observe the safety instructions in the appendix of these operating instructions.
Control surface throws
We recommend the following maximum throws (as measured at the respective control surface end edges): aileron and elevator 4 mm each. Control surface throw is adjusted by way of the transmitter. Pay attention to the respective notices posted in your HoTT COMPUTER SYSTEM manual.
Flying
Test fly the prepared model when there is no wind or only a light wind. A level, open area is an optimal location for flying. Never perform take-offs or landings between buildings or trees because the model is difficult to control where the air is swirling. With the motor running, thrust the model per hand-start into the air against the wind. For the initial hand-start, a starting assistant is needed, so that you can perform any quick control corrections as necessary. Start the model with its nose pointed upward slightly (about a 15° angle). It is absolutely necessary to trim the model, particularly after the first take-off. Make the landing exactly into the wind with the motor switched off. Before setting the model down, reduce its speed by gentle doses of elevator throw. Always land the model against the direction of the wind.
Take the LiPo battery out of the model and recharge it right after a flight. This prevents the battery from becoming deep discharged, which can cause damage to the LiPo battery.
GRAUPNER Modellbau wishes you many pleasant flights with this new flying model.

Important disposal notice for batteries:
Some countries have laws requiring that all used batteries be turned over to an authorized collection center. Disposing of batteries along with common household garbage is forbidden. Old batteries can be turned into communal collection centers for disposal at no charge or they can be returned to one of our dealerships or anywhere else where batteries of that given type are sold. Batteries which we have delivered can be returned to us, postage prepaid, through the mail for disposal. Please use the address shown below for this purpose. You make a significant contribution to environmental protection by doing this!

Instructions and warning notices for use of the LiPo battery
Incorrect handling can lead to explosions, fire, smoke and poisoning hazards. Furthermore, disregard for these instructions and warnings can lead to reduced performance and other defects. The LiPo battery's capacity is reduced by every charge/discharge cycle. Storing the battery at temperatures which are too high or too low can also lead to a gradual reduction in capacity. The LiPo battery may only be charged with the charger included in the package. Any manipulation to the charger can lead to severe damage. The charger station must be placed on a non-combustible, heat resistant, nonconducting surface during the charging process. Combustible or readily ignited objects are to be kept away from the charging configuration. Batteries may only be charged under supervision.

Avoid a short circuit condition
Never short-circuit the battery. A short-circuit allows very high current to flow and this heats up the cells. This will lead to loss of electrolyte, the production of gases and perhaps even explosions. Avoid having electrically conducting surfaces in the vicinity of, or while handling, GraupnerLiPo batteries because of the danger of creating a short-circuit condition.
Housing foil stability
The aluminum-laminate film foil that makes up the outer surface of the battery can easily be damaged by sharp objects like needles, knives, nails, etc. Damage to this outer foil makes the battery useless. A short-circuit condition can cause the battery to burn. Temperatures above 70 °C will also damage the housi ng and destroy its seal. This will cause loss of electrolyte, the battery becomes useless and its disposal is necessary.
Mechanical shock
A LiPo battery is not as mechanically stable as batteries in metal housings. Therefore avoid mechanical shocks caused by dropping, impacts or bending, cutting, tearing and deforming. Never drill into the battery housing foil or bend or twist the LiPo battery. If the LiPo battery is damaged, it may never be used or returned to service again. The characteristics of damaged battery cells include: damaged housing packaging, deformed battery cells, the odor of electrolyte or leaking electrolyte. Damaged or useless cells are hazardous waste items and must be disposed of accordingly.
General warning notices
A LiPo battery must never be burned under any circumstances. The battery must not be submerged in liquids, such as water, seawater or beverages. Any contact with liquids, of whatever nature, is to be avoided. AnLiPo battery is not a toy and must therefore not get into the hands of children. Store LiPo batteries out of the reach of children. The LiPo battery must not get into the vicinity of babies or small children. If a battery is swallowed, immediately go to a doctor or emergency medical facility. The LiPo battery must not be put in a microwave oven or put under pressure. Smoke, fire and more can be the consequences. Never dismantle a LiPo battery. Dismantling a battery can cause internal short-circuits. Gas, fire, explosions and other problems can result. The electrolyte and electrolytic vapors in the LiPo battery are harmful. Be sure to avoid all direct contact with electrolyte. If electrolyte comes into contact with

skin, eyes or other body parts, immediately wash or rinse it out with generous amounts of fresh water then be sure to consult a doctor.
General safety notices
The RC aircraft is suitable for youths of 14 years or older, however it is not suitable for beginners. Liability insurance which is in force is required to operate model aircraft. This is required by legal statute. The entire operating instructions must be carefully read before attempting to put the model into operation for the first time. You are solely responsible for the safe operation of your RC model aircraft. Youths who operate the model must be responsibly supervised by an adult who is familiar with the circumstances and potential hazards involved with RC model aircraft. From a legal point of view, a model aircraft is an aircraft and, as such, subject to respective laws that must absolutely be observed. The pamphlet »Model aviation law"«, order no. 8034.02, presents a summary of these laws. This pamphlet can also be reviewed at dealerships. Only those parts included in the kit as well as those replacement parts which we expressly recommend may be used. If a component in the drive unit is changed, safe operation is no longer warranted and all rights under the guarantee are voided.
Always keep the necessary safe distance between the flying model and persons or obstacles; never fly over or toward other persons! Model flying activity may only be pursued when outdoor temperatures are between -5 C and +35 C. Extreme temperatures lead to degrading changes in battery capacity and material characteristics. Every model pilot is to behave such that public safety, in particular other persons and property, are neither endangered nor disturbed. Never fly the model aircraft in the vicinity of high-voltage transmission lines, industrial premises, residential areas, public streets, school yards or playgrounds and the like. If you are a novice to model flying, it is advantageous to have an experienced helper at your side during the checks and the first few flights. Motor-driven propellers present a constant injury hazard. They may never come into contact with any body part! A rapidly turning aircraft propeller can, for example, sever a finger! A blockage of the propeller by any kind of part must be precluded. The model's flying attitude must always be explicitly recognizable during the entire flight in order to ensure secure control and maneuvers. If functional impairments or disturbances become evident during a flight, a landing must be initiated immediately for reasons of safety. You must always avoid other
