Introduction
The ELEKTRO-ROOKIE S is a radio-controlled model aircraft with an excellent performance, designed specifically for the newcomer to the hobby. The aircraft can be stored and transported safely and conveniently in the packaging carton. Please start by reading right through these operating instructions - before you at- tempt to operate the model - and make yourself familiar with the method of operating your HoTT transmitter. Keep the manual for your HoTT COMPUTER SYSTEM to hand when preparing the model.

Assembling the model
The model can very quickly be prepared for the air, but it is important to read and observe the following notes, as this will avoid problems, especially on the first flight. Note: To open the cockpit canopy, hold the rear portion by the sides and pull it upward. This procedure may require a relatively great amount of force. However, the holding power of the cockpit closure will lessen after a few opening attempts.
Connect the elevator horn as shown in the pictures, then fix the tailplane to the top of the fin using the M4 x 25 mm countersunk screw (shown already fitted in the photo).

This requires the correct size of cross-point screwdriver, which is not included in the pack.
The wing panels are assembled and fitted as shown in the illustration above: first join the wings using the CFRP spar, then push the wings together. Please note that pushing them together may require a relatively great amount of force. Tip: Putting the wing halves together is easier if you first squeeze the two tabs of the left wing together somewhat. Note: the underside of the wings features recesses for aileron servos. The recesses have no adverse effect on the model’s flying characteristics, but you can cover them with the self-adhesive decals, Id. No. 0062349, if you wish; these are included in the pack.
The COMPACT motor set
The high-quality COMPACT motor set is supplied already installed in the fuselage. The matching speed controller is set up accurately at the factory to suit the ELEKTRO-ROOKIE S, eliminating the need for programming. Please note that the operating instructions for the BRUSHLESS CONTROL 18 speed controller are supplied separately in the pack.
Binding the GR-12 receiver in the model to your HoTT transmitter
The “BINDING” procedure varies according to the HoTT COMPUTER SYSTEM you are using; please observe the following notes, and the section entitled “Binding the receiver” in the manual supplied with your radio control system.
1. Give the LiPo flight battery and the transmitter battery a full charge.
2. Locate the right-hand stick on your transmitter, and move it back towards you to
the “motor stop” position.
3. Now connect the BEC plug and socket between the speed controller and the LiPo battery.
4. Initiate the “BINDING” procedure, and then carry out a full check of the working systems. The servo leads should be connected to the receiver in the following sequence: socket 1: speed controller; socket 2: rudder servo; socket 3: elevator servo. This means that the throttle (motor control) and direction (rudder control) are both assigned to the right-hand stick on the transmitter, and the elevator to the left-hand stick. Pulling the elevator stick back towards you causes the elevator to deflect up; moving it away from you causes it to deflect down.
5. If necessary, use your transmitter’s “Servo settings” menu to correct the direction of rotation of the servos, and set the control surfaces exactly to centre (neutral
