The 8943RDA-DFR is a fiber-ready SD/
HD/3G-SDI reclocking DA with two dedicated
electrical inputs and seven reclocked electrical
outputs (in four output pairs). An optional fiber
optic submodule can be installed to provide
additional fiber optic inputs and outputs.
The module can equalize up to 90 meters
for input 1 (J10) and 100 meters for input 2
(J8) of Belden 1694A cable for HD/3G-SDI.
It can distribute either HD/3G-SDI or SD-SDI,
making it ideal for mixed format applications
or installations where an upgrade to HD/3G
is planned. It is also completely DVB ASI
compliant.
With its fiber-ready architecture, the
8943RDA-DFR can be configured as a fiber
receiver, providing two fiber optic inputs that
can be mapped to feed seven electrical outputs
(in output pairs). The two fiber optic inputs are
both active along with the dedicated electrical
inputs. This makes the module ideal where
redundant feeds are used.
Using the dual transmitter fiber option, this
module can distribute two additional fiber
outputs as well as the seven electrical outputs
(in output pairs) allowing it to feed both local
and remote locations simultaneously. This can
also provide redundant fiber feeds.
With the transceiver option, the 8943RDADFR makes a flexible DA ready for either fiber
in or fiber out applications. The fiber option
makes it ideal for receiving signals from distant
downlinks or transmitting to remote uplinks.
Refer to the configuration block diagrams on
the next page for illustrations of the mulitple
uses for the 8943RDA-DFR with the available
fiber optic submodule options. Note that all
module inputs and outputs can be active at the
same time and input to output mapping can be
set as desired in configuration.
All parameters can be configured directly
from the card edge or via a standard HTML
Web browser when the 8900NET (Net Card)
Network Interface module has been installed.
The module operation and configuration, as
well as the signal presence and format can
be monitored using industry standard SNMP
protocol via the 8900NET (Net Card) module.
