1 Introduction

The FHP2 series are full featured palm sized optic al power
meters designed for use with an o ptical laser sour ce to
perform optical loss measur ements on optical f iber cables.
The FHP2 series are lightweig ht and are controll ed by
microprocessor. Utilizin g state-of-the- art SMT in its
manufacture, optical connections to the FHP2 a re made via
the universal adapter inter face on the top of the un it. The
instrument has 7 working wave lengths to totall y satisfy your
needs.
It can be extensively used in telecommunicatio n projects
and other situations where op tical power of wave lengths
close to infrared ray needs to be measured.

One Year Limited Warranty

Grandway products are warra nted against the de fective compone nts and workmansh ip for a period
of one year from the date of delivery to the original cu stomer. Any product f ound to be defectiv e
within the warranty period wo uld be returned to Gr andway authoriz ed service center for repair,
replacement and calibrati on.

Exclusions

The warranty on your equipmen t shall not apply to de fects resulting f rom the following :
Unauthorized repair or modification
Misuse, negligen ce, or accident

Never look directly into opti cal outputs or a fibe r while the equipme nt is on.Invisibl e laser beam

may damage your eyes.

Do not short-circuit the terminal of AC adapter / cha rger and the batter ies.Excessive e lectrical

current may cause personal in jury due to fumes,e lectric shock or eq uipment damage.

Connect AC power cord with the equ ipment and wall soc ket properly. While inser ting the AC plug,

make sure there is no dust or dirt on the terminals and bo th plugs are fully se ated. Incomplet e

engagement may cause fuming , electric shock or e quipment damage a nd may result in personal

injury.

Do not operate the equipment ne ar hot objects, in ho t environments, i n dusty/ humid atmo sphere

or when condensation is prese nt on the equipment . This may result in electric shock , product

malfunction or poor performance.

4.1 Unpacking the instrument

Packing material

We sugge st that you keep the or iginal packing material. Using the original packing material i s your
guarantee of protecting the instrument durin g transit.

Checking the package contents

The standard accessories of FHP2 are as follows:
FC, SC interchangeable conn ector, Manual, Car rying Bag, Softwa re (CD), USB cable, AC /DC adapter,
Test Report.
Optional accessories:

Checking for damage in transit

After unpacking the instrument, check to see whe ther it was damaged i n transit. This is particularly likely
if the outer casing is clearly da maged. If there is da mage, do not attemp t to operate the inst rument or to
repair it without authoriza tion. Doing so can ca use further damag e and you may lose your warranty
qualification.
