The LENS
The lens shipped is an adjustable focus lens. It will meet the requirement of most common usage.

rd
party
CS mount lens, the camera has a plastic ring (highlighted in BLUE in below picture) inside the
front metal frame, used for fine tuning the focus. Customer should be VERY gentle to adjust this
ring. Once clear image achieved, customer should use a small screw driver to tighten the screw
inside the “LOCK” hole (marked in RED in below picture) on the left side (facing camera) of
the camera to lock this ring.

For GXV3601_LL/GXV3601_HD/GXV3651FHD, the shipped lens has three movable parts:
Outer Ring (Near/Far or Zoom In/Zoom Out), Middle Ring (Manual Iris, or Aperture), Inner
Ring (Tele/Wide, or Zoom In/Zoom Out).
Preparation:
Before tuning the focus, please make sure the camera has the latest firmware, it can be
found in Grandstream website:
http://www.grandstream.com/support/firmware
Power on and log into the camera using IE or Firefox browser. Once in HOME screen,
double click the video image to make Full Screen to facilitate the tuning process.
Manual Iris or Aperture
Depending on the monitored objects, correct aperture is important to get clear image. Similar to
all cameras, aperture controls the “depth of filed” and is key to get a desired clear image.
The Middle Ring is the Manual Iris or Aperture adjustment. Facing the lens of camera, adjust
counterclockwise (or toward OPEN arrow) allowing more light coming to camera or using large
aperture (meaning less depth of field, good for monitor closer objects); adjust clockwise (or
toward CLOSE arrow) reducing the light coming to camera or using small aperture (meaning
more depth of filed, good for far away objects).
User is recommended to adjust the Aperture Ring in the middle position (50% ~ 80%) to start the focus
tuning process. Suggest user using fingers of one hand to hold both Inner and Outer Rings while using
another hand to adjust the Middle Ring.
Depending on the scene, once Aperture ring tuned, su g g est user to adjust the Outer Ring first. Facing the
lens, adjust clockwise is zooming in the object, adjust counterclockwise is zooming out the object, adjust to
get a rough image first.
