IMPORTANT NOTES!
The Gpacers Poseidon Tracker is an aid to your safety. It is not a life-saving device.
Radio Frequency Safety Statement
The Gpacers Poseidon Tracker is a radio frequency product developed with the latest IoT technology and
should comply with RF regulations when using.
Misuse of GPT’s DISTRESS Function may cause unnecessary rescue efforts.
Please ONLY use the DISTRESS Function in case of emergency and only use the Call Function during
actual situations.
The antenna and the batteries are assembled and sealed inside the waterproof housing. If any
component needs to be replaced, please ship the product back to Gpacers Technology or qualified
distributors. Any modification or customization without permission might harm the product or
violate the regulations. Please DO NOT replace the antenna or battery without authorization.
The GPT uses two 18650 lithium batteries.
Please read these instructions carefully. Failure to follow the guidelines in this manual may
cause loss of warranty.
When GPT is set to Receiver mode and the Wi-Fi is transmitting data, please keep at least 60 cm
away from the human body.

1 Gpacers Poseidon Tracker Overview
1.1 System Overview
The Poseidon Tracker is a single transceiver that integrates transmitting, receiving and relay functions.
Designed for use in a variety of extreme sports such as: mountaineering, diving, sailing...etc. It can also be
applied to protect safety on campus, in the community, and for women at night.
The Poseidon Tracker System contains at least two transceivers, one set to transmit mode, one set to
receive mode and a smart device running the App as the control console. In some applications, such as
emergency rescue, another transceiver set to be a repeater can extend its effective communication range
to hundreds of kilometers.
It can be set to Transmitter mode to transmit data, carried by an individual or independently
floating on the water. The data is transmitted to a receiver by a RF signal and the Wi-Fi function is
not operated when used in this mode.
A Transceiver can also be set to Receiver mode and fixed at a higher altitude on the ship or on the
shore. In this usage mode, it transmits the data to a mobile device by Wi-Fi, the RF only receiving,
but not sending data.
The transceiver can also be set as a repeater, placed at a higher altitude or attached to a drone to
overcome communication obstacles of various terrain features. When using as a repeater, the
receiver can be placed on the ground or at any location where relay signals can be received. This
application is similar to a satellite system. The repeater is similar to a surveillance satellite. The
receiver connects to the App installed on a mobile device, similar to a ground station.
4
The Transmitter carried by an individual can receive GPS data and transmit ID, status and coordinates to
the Receiver. Under normal weather conditions, depending on the height set by the receiver, the maximum
transmission distance can exceed 200 km.
The app console designed for the system has a powerful and user-friendly interface.
The relevant safety personnel use a mobile device, smart phone or tablet, to connect with the receiver.
The App installed on the mobile device can perform the safety surveillance tasks.
5
All transmitters within the effective range can be monitored at the same time, and the App can issue
different preventive alarms to avoid the occurrence of danger and/or to improve the efficiency of the
rescue.

6
Note: Transmission Distance of the GPTS
The theoretical distance of GPT in free path transmission reaches 900 km. However, in a real
environment, there are various sources of interference. The measured results show that in a Line Of Sight
transmission, distances can often exceed 200 km.
In land applications, the transmission distance is mainly limited byobstacles of the terrain.
And at sea, many factors affect the effective transmission distance of the system, such as weather
conditions, humidity, wind and waves; in addition, the way the GPT is used, whether hand held or freely
floating on the water, the sea level altitude of the receiver, and the antenna gain etc. also affect the
transmission range.
In marine applications, the
curvature of the earth is the major
constraint to the transmission
distance. The higher the altitude at
which the receiver and transmitter
are placed, the farther the
transmission distance is. In absence
of obstacles between the transmitter
and the receiver, the maximum
transmission distance ( km ) of the
GPT system is shown in the table on
the right. While the effective stable
transmission distance is about 70%
of the maximum transmission
distance.

3 Start to Use
3.1 Check before startup
Note: Before using the GPT, charge to battery to at least 70% to ensure enough endurance
when in distress.
Note: Please have your receiver and mobile device with the App installed.
Note: Check the "Transmitter-Receiver-Mobile device App" connection to confirm that the sending
and receiving functions are operating as required.
Note: GPS positioning can take several minutes when first turned on or used across time zones.
Note: The battery must be charged before the first use or after being idle for a long time.
3.2 Startup / Hard reset
Set switches:
R_sw: OFF
T_sw: OFF
Turn on both the !_sw and the C_sw.
After 1 second, close both switches to enter standby status.
Note: Battery power may be exhausted when
GPT is idle for a long time. The GPTwould need
to be charged before turning on.

Note:
After the DISTRESS function is initiated, only swapping between DISTRESS and DISTRESS
TERMINATING is allowed.
Once the rescue is complete, the system will automatically issue a 60-minutes rescue
termination notification to end the search.
During the entire Distress function period, all other function switching actions are invalid.
