• The device is not waterproof. Do not soak or submerge.
• The Study Hub may overheat at high temperatures. Keep
the Study Hub out of direct heat and in a well ventilated
environment.
• For individuals with a cardiac pacemaker, implantable
debrillator, medical pump, or other implantable medical
electronic device: the device may use wireless signals
like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cellular connections that could
potentially affect your implantable medical electronic device.
The device is FCC certied for use with implantables. Please
follow the directions for use for your implant. Keep the Study
Hub at least 6 inches from your implantable device. If you
still have concerns regarding your implanted device, please
contact your healthcare provider.

Welcome to the Verily Study Hub
The Study Hub charges your sensor devices and syncs the data
to a secure database over a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.

Set up the Study Hub
Plug the power cord into the
round port on the back of the
Study Hub.

electrical outlet to provide

Outlets near an area with good
cellular connection are best
(for example, near a window).
The light next to the connection symbol will ash while
establishing a connection. The Study Hub is ready to sync when
the light changes to solid white, meaning a good connection has
been made. The connection process may take up to 10 minutes
depending on the connection quality.

Charge and sync the Study Watch with Study Hub
If you received a Study Watch as part of your study devices, you
can charge and sync the Study Watch using the Study Hub.
Plug the Study Watch’s
charging dock into one of the
USB ports, either on the side
of the Hub or at the back.

Place the Study Watch on the charging dock. The time and date
on the Study Watch should read the same direction as the “V”
on the dock.

Connect the Study Hub using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth
As part of the study, your Study Hub may require the use of a
Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection to sync data. Follow the instructions
provided as part of the study for additional instruction.
Study Hub lighted symbols
The Study Hub has lights next to symbols to help you understand
what the device is doing:
CONNECTION
Flashing white: The Study Hub is looking for a connection.
This may take up to 10 minutes.
Solid white: The Study Hub is connected and ready to sync.
Solid orange: The Study Hub is unable to nd a connection.
Try moving the Study Hub to another location. If that doesn’t
resolve the problem, contact support.
SYNC
Flashing white: The Study Hub is syncing and charging the
sensor device.
Solid white. Sync is complete.

ERROR
Solid orange: Something’s wrong. You can try unplugging
the power cord and plugging it back in. If that doesn’t
resolve the problem, contact support.
WI-FI
Flashing white: The Study Hub is looking for a Wi-Fi
connection. This can take a few minutes.
Solid white. The Study Hub is connected and ready
to sync.
Solid orange: The Study Hub wasn’t able to establish
a connection over Wi-Fi. Contact support.
BLUETOOTH
Flashing white: The Study Hub is looking for a Bluetooth
connection. This can take a few minutes.
Solid white. The Study Hub is connected via Bluetooth
and ready to stream.
Solid orange: The Study Hub wasn’t able to establish
a Bluetooth connection. Contact support.

Turn lights on and off
After 5 minutes of inactivity, all the lighted symbols will go dark.
You can turn the lights on and off yourself. On the top of the
device, tap the light button .
Supplies, contents, and storage
The devices are supplied in a cardboard box with appropriate
labeling.
Depending on the conguration required for a study, the
packaging may contain one or more devices including accessories
and supplemental labeling. The devices should be stored in a
climate controlled setting.
