CAUTIONS
1. Avoid exposing the machine to freezing temperatures as the pump housing
will crack if water is allowed to freeze in it. If the unit must be exposed to freezing conditions, run the pump dry for 10 seconds to drain the pump.
3
2. DO NOT RUN THE PUMP DRY FOR MORE THAN 15 SECONDS.
3. When the pump is running without spraying, the bypass valve allows the water to
circulate around the pump. This condition will gradually elevate the temperature of the water through friction. Frequent or prolonged bypass can result in high temperature build-up. These high temperatures cause premature failure of the cups, seals, and packing of the pump. The GPW-2000-G and GPW-3000-G are equipped with a Thermo Valve which protects the pump against overheating. When the water temperature reaches 140°F (60°C), the Thermo Valve opens and dumps the overheated water. Although equipped with a Thermo Valve, RUNNING
THE PUMP FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES WITHOUT SPRAYING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
4. Do not attempt to change the factory settings of the engine RPM, the bypass
valve pressure setting, or the nozzle orifice size. Doing so may create an un
-
safe condition and shorten the life of the engine and pump.
ABOUT THE ENGINE
The GPW-2000-G is equipped with a Briggs & Stratton 6 HP (4.5 kW) Vanguard single cylinder engine that drives a three piston oil bath pump. The GPW-3000-G is equipped with a Briggs & Stratton 14 HP (10.4 kW) Vanguard twin cylinder engine that drives a three piston oil bath pump. The operator should become familiar with the information contained in the Briggs & Stratton Operating and Maintenance Instructions enclosed with this machine. Engine repairs and warranty service are available directly from your nearest Briggs & Stratton Service Center, which is listed in the yellow pages under "Engines, Gasoline" or "Gasoline Engines."
NOTE: DO NOT RUN ENGINE WITHOUT AIR FILTER IN PLACE.
PUMP LUBRICATION
IMPORTANT – Please Read Carefully
The GPW-2000-G and the GPW-3000-G are equipped with an oil bath pump. When shipped, the crankcase is filled with the proper amount of break-in oil. Due to the possibility of spillage in shipment, the oil level should be checked prior to the first use of the machine, as well as prior to each use.
